I did not have proper lube
So I said what the hell I will use some CLP OIL!!!!
What a mistake
When I tried to clean this brass a black sticky mess!!!
Any help !!!!!!
John

I have found denatured alcohol to be an excellent all around solvent for black sticky messes.

I've used about a tablespoon or two of citric acid powder in a gallon of warm water for an hour with pretty good result on dirty 45 range brass. Don't leave too long, and rinse well. Not shiny, but will clean it up. Dry, load and go. Dawn dishwashing detergent should work well, as mentioned.

Thank you

Soak in some hot water with Dawn dish soap squirted in, to get the CLP off.

Make sure you get the insides clean of oil, as well and let them air dry, I guess, or put them in the over at <200* until their good and warm.

The Dawn will cut the oil.
