Hey guys

Here are some pics of the latest AR build that I just completed.
Quick run down on the parts used

LRB Upper & Lower Receiver
Yankee Hill Diamond Series Rifle length Forearm
Yankee Hill End Cap
Yankee Hill Specter Gas Block
Yankee Hill Brake
BCM Gunfighters Charging Handle
Troy Industries Rail Covers
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul GEN II BUIS
Magpul Trigger Guard
Magpul PRS Stock(Supplied by http://www.eastexshootingsupply.com/)

Not sure what I am doing for optics on this one yet. I'm torn between a compact 1.5-4x20 or just go with a straight fixed power 10x
I will use the Larue 1.5 mount.

This was the first time I used Duracoat. I was pretty happy with the results. Only gripe I had was with the Preval sprayer spitting now and then on me. I did clean it out between layers with acetone. I ordered the Magpul flat dark earth color to match the magpul parts, and as you can see, they are off a little.

Heres how the gun started life 2 weeks ago

Then ended up in a box of parts that night. The following Saturday, I degreased and stripped everything, masked off everything and hung the parts to spray.

I was going to shoot the parts in my basement figuring it would be less dust and not as humid as outside was (was like Cambodia outside) but a friend of mine advised me that the stuff would stink out the house and mama would NOT be happy.

So I set up shop in the garage... Glad I listened. That stuff is strong!

Here are a few pics... Once I figure out the optics, I will spray them and the mount...

I wanted to keep some of the parts black to contrast a little.

I want to mention, I had a hard time tracking down that Magpul PRS in FDE. I was lucky enough to have tracked one down at http://www.eastexshootingsupply.com. After Bill assured me he had one instock, the order was place. I gotta tell ya, Bill is top notch. Heck of a nice guy and will continue to get more of my business. Give him a try! you wont regret it!

Thanks for looking....

I'm curious about this, do you just tape off or remove parts you don't want hit and just spray the rest just like your doing a car? How do you ensure things move properly like dust covers?

I removed everything but the trigger group. I masked off the inside of the upper and lower. all detents, springs, take down pins, selector so on. Only thing I didn't remover was the bolt release. Only because I wasn't sure how tough the finish was and didn't want to chance scuffing it putting the poll pin back in. I had to remove the barrel anyway to install the new forearm anyway.
