Maggie’s It’s all over fellas.

Fellas it’s over, I’m finished, I can never, ever show my face in public again. I might as well put on a dress and apply for a cabinet post in the hiden biden administration. At least then, I’ll have an excuse to hide in someone’s basement. (Us southerners don’t have basements.).

I just can’t. No Can’t is not strong enough, I Can Not Believe it! I, me, myself, have been invited to join…..Oh how can I even think it, much less say it…….Join The Fauna and Floral Preservation Society. Me, the old hunter, me, who hates even the thought of a dang flower pot showing up at our home….ME???, Why ME?????

Anyway, I wonder if they would appreciate the very picture I am looking at…..

Got Me A Life Lesson in Training This Evening...

...and at the young and tender age of 51. Been looking into joining a local gun club here in the past 5-6 years. Never have really looked into it that deeply after I saw that it required that I have a Period of instruction under my belt in the past 9 months. That, and I already belong to a club that I love being a member of. My club is a 35 minute drive. This other club that I have been looking into is 7 minutes up the road. Driving factor that has been leading me to this club is that they are heavily into USPSA, IDPA, and Steel Challenge matches. Not to mention the archery side of this club is OUTSTANDING!!! Sooooooo, about 2 months ago I bumped into a fella that is on the board of this "other" club at my favorite Local Gun Shop. He convinced me to take the leap and get the requirements done. Take the 100 question saftey test with at least a 90% passing grade. Check. Go the the State Police and get a Criminal Background Check. Check. Go through a period of instruction on handguns. welllllll... So I emailed one guy for the training, and no reply after 5 weeks. President emails me and says that new member orientation is on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 0730 hours. Damn. I need that training requirement. Emailed Pesident and he gives me 2 more names for the training. Got an email back that this trainer had a block of instruction available on Dec. 8th to fulfill the requirement. WooHoo!!!

So this evening I was trained by a female that is far and above a better handgun shooter than myself. She is very established in USPSA Sport. Bear in mind that this was just a period of instruction to check "that box" in my mind. I mean shit. 8 years of service in the Marine Corps, 5 years in the Army, and 1 tour in Iraq. What the hell would anyone teach me about firearms safety? Well Sheeeeeet. This instructor went above and beyond. She noticed that my handgun grip was straight out of the military, and she showed me a new grip to try. DAMN!!! My groups tightened up from 20 yards. And I'm talking significantly!!! Just mind blown this evening. How many times have we read, right here, training training training. Well damn. We chatted about how I really want to try USPSA, and that's when she modified my grip. I tell ya. If I would of went into that period of instruction with a closed mind, I would of lost out on a lot of great information that was shared with me this evening. Life lesson for this middle aged guy this evening I tell ya. Looking forward to my next block of instruction with this shooter!!! (y)

Now It's Biden: If Ukraine Aid Is Not Passed, U.S. Troops Will Be Deployed to Fight Russia

President Joe Biden echoed the warnings of his defense secretary in an address to the public this week, saying if Congress does not pass $64 billion in aid to Ukraine, U.S. troops will end up fighting Russia in Europe.
“This cannot wait. Congress needs to pass supplemental funding for Ukraine before they break for the holiday recess. It’s as simple as that,” Biden began.
He then accused skeptical Republicans in Congress of being “willing to give Putin the greatest gift he could hope for and abandon our global leadership not just to Ukraine, but beyond that.”
He argued that Putin has committed atrocities against Ukrainian civilians and that Russian forces are committing war crimes.
“It’s as simple as that. It’s stunning. Who is prepared to walk away from holding Putin accountable for this behavior? Who among us is really prepared to do that?”
He then argued that if Putin succeeds in taking Ukraine, “he’s going to keep going.”
“If he keeps going and then he attacks a NATO Ally — well, we’ve committed as a NATO member that we’d defend every inch of NATO territory — then we’ll have something that we don’t seek and that we don’t have today: American troops fighting Russian troops.”
He repeated, “American troops fighting Russian troops if he moves into other parts of NATO.”
He then sought to shame anyone who did not want to pass more aid.
“Make no mistake: Today’s vote is going to be long remembered. And history is going to judge harshly those who turn their back on freedom’s cause,” he said.
He said supporting Ukraine is “in our overwhelming national interest” and in the “international interest of all our friends.”
He faulted “extreme Republicans” for “playing chicken with our national security” and “holding Ukraine’s funding hostage to their extreme partisan border policies.”
He claimed that he supported “real solutions at the border,” and that he has already put forward a “comprehensive plan” the first day he came into office. He also said he would change policy as well, but it was not clear what those changes would be.
Biden said if the U.S. did not support Ukraine, it would affect the U.S.’s allies and embolden “would-be aggressors.”
He said if the U.S. walks away, its European friends will not continue to fund Ukraine.
“This is too serious. And like I said, I am willing to make significant compromises on the border. We need to fix the broken border system. It is broken. And thus far, I’ve gotten no response,” he said.
He claimed that Republicans demanded that he accept their proposal, which he called “extreme — or nothing.”
“In the meantime, the ‘nothing’ means we don’t get any support for our friends and our — the innocent people of Ukraine,” he said.

I've found the topic of shooting sports and firearms as a hobby a polarizing subject socially and especially in the workplace. I used to be very cautious about mentioning that I engaged in shooting sports or even owned firearms because I've usually worked in environments that were overwhelmingly progressive and liberal. Coworkers were very vocal about being anti-conservative or anti-gun. I've reached the point where I hit the fuck it button and don't care anymore. When I joined my current employer my boss asked me to write an intro email they could send out and mention family, hobbies, and experience. I stated that I participated in PRS competitions, and it was removed by my boss's boss. When I confronted them about it they told me activities involving guns are not appropriate for a professional environment. TL;DR version, I nearly got fired in my first week when I provided a retort.

Bolt gun for wife.

I took the wife out shooting yesterday at our local range. Started with my grandfather's old Belgium browning nomad then her g43x. Handguns arnt her strong suit so we moved to my new bergara b14 ridge sp in 223. After zeroing the optic I let her have a go on some steel at 100. Then 400 yards. Well, the bug bite her and now she wants her own gun. My question for you guys is This, she likes 223, so what would you recommend for a bolt gun that will shoot the heavier bullets that has some aftermarket stock and trigger support?
So far I see Ruger ranch or predator, rem 700 sps 16.5" and the bergara if theres any left when we decide on gun.
I think she's open to bigger calibers so those options are covered (hmr, ctr..etc)
Needs to be threaded or have enough meat to be threaded.

You had one job, son.

ASGH… but fun to watch …

All he had to do was say “I understand the misdemeanors that I was charged with and plead guilty to.” One job. Minutes later he would have been laughing his way out of the courtroom with all his money and a joke of a conviction because, well, Democrats.

But he couldn’t even handle that…

Imma just going to get out in front of the news on this one and say “Hunter Biden did not kill himself.”

They’ll just tell Dement-o Joe that Hunter is fine and on vacation in Tibet anyway.

As I said… ASGH. But it is more interesting than football.

Firearms Vudoo prs setup, will split up

Got a full turn key rimfire PRS/NRL rimfire setup turnkey minus the glass, can add a maven RS4 in vortex pro rings for $1400 extra and provide dope for the setup if needed.

Vudoo 22” MTU BA gen 2, probably the best shooting factory BA I’ve ever seen.

Rifle basix trigger (4oz-20oz) set at 6oz

ARC XYLO with foreend extension, 1 1lb internal weight, 2 external Snyder precision weights, also has steel bag rider. It’s not the prettiest chassis but I swear it was made to fit a Vudoo mag, 5k+ rounds through a Vudoo in this chassis and only had 2 mag issues and they were mag issues not chassis fitting mag issues.

MDT send it level

Warne skyline bipod

Will split but BA and chassis have to be spoken for.

If you purchase the package I’ll throw in 2 half bricks of different lots of centerX that it shoots very well. Can provide dope out to 400. Will also throw in 2 10 rd Vudoo mags, a mag block, and 1 l3i 14 round injection molded mag with package. 3500 rounds total on BA.

$3000 shipped.

Always been meticulously cared for and cleaned after each match. If you want I can provide the cleaning/care I use to keep it shooting like it should. Thanks, Caleb.

If you want a kestrel 5700 elite I’ll sell you one as well, with dope for this rifle already downloaded on it.

LPVO at distance

Here is my rig. Sorry I can’t show a lot more.
Like I said, we shoot out to 1600 on occasion, usually much closer like offhand out to 700 yards on 1 moa targets. Again, keep in mind ye ol boomers that I’m not trying to match your internet exploits or anything like that, just a new guy working hard and having fun with what I got.

If you have done better please offer up advice and stories so I can become much better.

My google fu is weak. ... what's the best way to ship a rifle back to it's owner?

Buddy moved to Fla and asked me to 'watch' his Rem 783. Wife sold pretty much everything he left behind so it was a good idea.

Now he wants it back. Since it's his, I'm not transferring ownership.

I *think* I can send it USPS and not get in trouble, but I'd rather ask and make sure. All the results that come up are assuming I'm selling a firearm to someone else, but nothing comes up about sending the owner back his rifle.

The 'Pit seemed to be the only place this question fit, so here y'all go
