Suppressors Can Someone Spend Money For Me?

Been a minute since I started a thread. Anyways gents as it stands I have 2 suppressors in jail. RC2 and Magnus SR. Rather than buy two more (if I have to eff it), I’m looking for the crescent hammer.

Want something that is decent or better at suppressing 5.56, moderate to lesser back pressure, and 30cal bore. Don’t care about hub / whatever. No length restrictions. This will hop across multiple platforms that aren’t trying to be short.

I’ve thought about a 30cal Surefire or Omega 300 or a CGS Hyperion (less impressed with the mount situation here). Others as well.

Thank in advance 🫡

What is the Nightforce of single stage reloading presses ?

I’m a longtime reloader. Usually around 2k rifle rounds per year. I’ve been wanting to upgrade my press from my current rcbs rock chucker supreme but don’t see much improvement until getting into the 1300-1400$ range for something like an area 419.
I’ve used Lee, Hornady, Rcbs and Redding. I’m not particularly impressed with any of them though they all get the job done.

Is there a middle ground, or do I need to just go be poor somewhere else and sell a kidney for the 419?

Precision Rifle Definition

This came up in conversation, and I was curious what others thought the definition of a precision rifle was.

For me, it's about meeting an accuracy requirement, say .5 or .75 MOA, maybe even 1 MOA, and less about the platform specs and sighting devices such as optics and irons.

Accurate, precise, repeatable. I guess reliability is implied with repeatable.

No matter if it's an accurized infantry rifle built into a sniper rifle, or a old Rem 700 with an upgraded barrel, etc...

What are your thoughts?

Diagnose my failures to fire - Rem700 *SOLVED*

Howdy fellas,

I have a Remington 700 short action in .308 that has been re-barreled (by a non-clownshoes smith) with a Bartlein blank. I've converted it detachable mags with Badger bottom metal.

That re-barrel was relatively recent and I have about 50 rounds through it - all surplus M118LR.

My last range trip, I experienced a bunch of failures to fire with the M118LR. In all cases, I had a dimpled primer that just by visually comparing did not appear to be any lighter than normal. I've used several hundred rounds of that specific batch of surplus M118LR with zero issues previously (in both this rifle and others). During this range trip, I had 4x FTFs out of 19 or 20 rounds before I called it quits.

Is it THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE that I just so happened to have the 4 bad rounds from my batch of hundreds of rounds of M118LR all show up in the same 20 round string? ...sure, I suppose. But highly unlikely bordering on impossible. This leads me to believe there is something going on in the gun that needs to be addressed.

My armorer knowledge is limited mostly to AR stuff. Tip of the firing pin seems fine. Can the Remington 700 experts chime in here? What do I need to check out that might be causing this?

Vacation vs. Staycation

What say you on this.

I generally don't take Vac time at work....I just don't. When I was hourly employee I would get paid down on it, now it really is not tracked like that, being 24x7x365 now they figure they win in the end....and they do. I have spent a month here in the past.

Monday was my first day back after two weeks of a staycation.

Many people said go somewhere, I was hitting burnout pretty hard, just retire now, 18months to go and I don't think I can do it. I took two weeks off. They tried to get me to go somewhere, even if just over night.

I really don't want to. You really need to get away. I don't know what to do with the dogs, one is old and with that thing going around I don't want to kennel them. I thought you said your kid and his wife would come out and babysit. Yea they did but I don't want to impose. Just go one day I will come out and let the dogs out a couple times, no big deal.....no I just want to stay home.

Well what are you going to do.....

I worked my ass off, and loved every single minute of it.

Gravel in the driveway, new "wireless" fence for the dogs (works good to), worked on my VW. Did some shooting I think is the only "fun" thing I did. Ran some power in the barn. I just worked and it was great.

I guess there is something wrong with me that I just love being home. Am I missing out on the world, or are they so misrable at home they have to get away from it.

SOLD Seekins Havak 6 Creed - $1,200

SOLD Seekins Havak Bravo Rifle in 6mm Creedmoor - $1,200 shipped to your FFL

Action: Seekins Havak Bravo Short Action
Chassis: KRG Bravo
Trigger: Timney 510 (Elite Hunter)
Barrel: Seekins 6mm Creedmoor, 24”, Stainless, 5/8-24 Muzzle Thread

For sale is a used, well-maintained, deer slaying, trophy winning Seekins Havak Bravo rifle chambered in 6mm Creedmoor. 900 rounds on the barrel with plenty of life left. New barrels are available and IN STOCK at Seekins (https://seekinsprecision.com/sp-barrel.html). Keep it a 6 creed and it's an awesome PRS production rig, or throw on a 6.5 creed or .308 barrel and turn it into a hunting/NRL hunter rig. Arca rail is included, scope/bipod/muzzle brake are not.

The gun has seen a season of deer hunting and PRS, so it has a few dings and scratches - purely cosmetic. I am selling because I'm shooting open now and no longer need it.
