Getting into reloading- Buy the best press I can afford, or start more slowly?

So I am about to take the plunge. I am a very methodical person and I tend to take things slow when starting something new. I also plan to read as much as I can in order to learn. The question is do I start with a high-end press like the Dillon 1100 because of its options, or do I aim lower. I do have tons of once-fired military brass that I have been saving to eventually do this and I know the 1100 has a built in crimp removal station. I want to make accurate and consistent ammo, however, my personal and family life give me very little time. As such, I need to be able to bang out consistent and good ammo. I am from the "buy once, cry once" camp. What do you think? Am I better off with a 750 Dillon or the 1100. I plan to reload .223, .308, 6.5 CM, and maybe 9mm. Thanks for any input.

Feedback Scammer alert! Someone created an account with ' at the end of my name

I had some dies listed for sale. Someone posted they would take them and then a scammer created an account with the same avatar and my username with a ' at the end of it. I am chungus this scam account is chungus' They then messaged the buyer asking for payment.

As a buyer always make sure that the username matches exactly to that of the one on the item listed for sale. Also look at the rating % and feedback numbers. These scam accounts are brand new and have 0% for the rating and 0's across the board on feedback numbers.

Also as a buyer you are a lot safer if you message the seller yourself first before even posting "I will take it" in the for sale thread. This closes the window of opportunity for the scammer.

This seems like it is becoming a big problem on here.

Have I ruined my Accuracy International AT?

Well gents, for those of you who remember, I posted a week or two ago about an AI AW that I come across locally. I took everyone’s advice and passed on it. To my profit, I came across a very reasonably priced AT pretty soon after this that arrived today. It came with a surefire muzzle device installed that I attempted to replaced with an ASR mount.

In the process of removing the extremely tight Surefire, the barrel itself came loose in the action. Remembering that these have removable barrels, but with no idea beyond the basics of how they work, I removed the barrel lock screw completely, unthreaded the barrel from the action to continue working on removing the muzzle device in my vice, and rethreaded the screw back in so as to not lose it. Now, after googling how to reinstall the barrel, it’s come to my attention that removing that barrel lock screw entirely is explicitly prohibited in the manual, as is threading it back in without a barrel in the action. Basically I did this entire process exactly the wrong way. I should say that based on the feedback that my Allen wrench gave me, when I unthreaded the barrel lock screw it was not torqued to the recommended 49 inch pounds. I also didn’t thread it in very tight after that. Hopefully that helps me here, but I’m not an expert as my conduct clearly shows.

Key take always- when it comes to an expensive gun with a unique feature, read the manual BEFORE you do this. With all that said, I’m wondering if anyone here, maybe an AI armorer or similar, can tell me how screwed I am? Thanks in advance everyone. Learning experience for sure….

So what did I just buy? Scope mount edition

Figured this is the right place to ask. I *think* this is an ELR mount, likely 30mm with 1” spacers. Ring tops look like smith enterprises/leupold ultra/badger.

Really just curious if anyone can identify it and tell me who made it. I enjoy moderately obscure things and this fits the bill.

Still in the mail but here are the seller’s pictures:

Vista (Revelyst) announces layoffs, including Bushnell

Here's the press release, but from the sound of it almost everyone at the Bushnell corporate offices got laid off yesterday. The guy that managed the Bushnell and RCBS account here was one of them, but he's probably going to pop back up here on a personal account.

I've kept in touch with quite a few people in OP, but I'm not sure yet if any of them survived the purge.

I'm going to keep my feelings to myself on this for now.

God's Army Convoy holds rally in nearby Dripping Springs, TX. on the way to the border.

Although one lady transplant expressed concern the crowd might be 'unpredictable', no businesses, car lots and police stations were burned. No business owners were stomped and beaten to death with skateboards. Zero looting.

It had more of a farmer's market atmosphere with the most volatile things said were by Sarah Palin who called the current government treasaonous and by Ted Nugent who called Pres. Poopy pants an 'evil scum snake.'

Drippin' is a Californian shit magnet and very illegal alien friendly. In the 2016 election, there was a 2 to 1 ratio of Hillary roadside placards to small Trump yard signs.

Oregon GOP state senators who staged walkout over abortion can't run for reelection, high court says.

The Oregon Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that 10 Republican state senators are ineligible to run for reelection after they participated in a quorum-denying walkout for six weeks last year to stall legislation on abortion, transgender treatments and firearms.
The high court decided in favor of Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade, who had disqualified the senators from running for office again after voters approved a measure in 2022 to amend the state constitution to ban lawmakers with more than 10 unexcused absences from running again.
The measure to prevent walkouts passed after GOP lawmakers staged other walkouts from the Legislature in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Five of the 10 Republican state senators, Tim Knopp, Daniel Bonham, Suzanne Weber, Dennis Linthicum and Lynn Findle, had filed a lawsuit against the secretary of state over the decision.
The walkout, which was the longest in Oregon's history, resulted in hundreds of bills being stalled, according to The Associated Press.

Aero Solis long action…

I didn’t care too much about the short action release, but I’m tentatively excited about this one.

I’m not really interested in PRS shooting but I have been thinking thinking hard about putting together a lightweight 7 PRC rig for elk and western hunts. So this might fit the bill when it actually hits the market.
