Something kicking off in Israel

It looks this is an unprecedented event , as besides the previously seen rocket barrages this time it seems Hamas soldiers actually on the ground in Israel taking over multiple towns and at least one military base. Israeli military and intelligence services were seemingly caught with their pants down.

But i imagine the Israeli response will be equally unprecedented.

''While the IDF is trying to deploy its forces, mobile units of Arabs have already (according to local residents) taken full control of the large city of Sderot (almost 30,000 population) and entered the southern outskirts of Ashkelon (approximately 150,000 population).

The territories that were quickly occupied are patrolled by Hamas patrols, which clear them of representatives of the Israeli security forces and military.

The population, for the most part, hides in fear at home.

The line of control on the map is not the front line. The Arabs do not have complete control in this territory.''

SOLD Crye Precision Ghillie Suit

Crye Precision Ghillie Suit Base Layer. I’ve got the top and bottom, both size large. I prefer other options and I’m not going to use this. Super well built, the back is just the mesh so it breathes well, and on the front there is a thick fabric made for being drug across the ground. I’ve also got the construction kit for this and if you’re interested I’m sure we could agree on a price. $350 shipped for top and bottom.

I’m looking at putting together a mid weight mid recoil western hunting rifle (12-14 lbs all in) to complement a 6.5 creed lightweight rifle and a hefty 300 Norma. Might shoot it in the occasional NRL Hunter match, but I’m mostly focused on Rocky Mountain game (pronghorn, sheep/goat, muley, elk and black bear) at medium ranges (4-700 yards). I don’t really care about short action vs long action.

Training ammo that performs similar to Speer Gold Dot 9mm124 gr +P

I was just sighting in a new red dot for my carry pistol and I made my fine-tune adjustments using carry ammo Speer Gold Dot 9mm 124 gr +P. I was happy with the zero at 15 yards.

I shot a few more with the carry ammo and was satisfied. But when I then switched to American Eagle 124gr, I was significantly off in point-of-aim point-of-impact. And by significantly, I mean about 2-3in at 15 yards.

So my question is if anybody knows of any 9mm that performs similarly to the Gold Dot +P? More generally, is it sufficient to have a lighter bullet but faster velocity to train with?

I would like to have some ammo where I can put in some reps and have a reasonably similar point of impact as I have with my carry ammo.

Thank you!

Fed up with false Japanese glass

Fed up with those companies playin' fast and loose with the origins of their goods or parts. Take Ark’n, for instance, claimin' their stuff's rockin' Japanese glass, but here's the real skinny: all them big shots like Leupold, Vortex, Light Optical Works, and a whole bunch more, they're all in cahoots with Chinese lens suppliers for the sake of cost and some-decent quality. the Philippines, they're snatchin' up them Chinese lenses and slappin' 'em together in Japan, stampin' it "Made in Japan" on scopes. Ain't no harm in that 'cause makin' a scope all-American would break the bank for us Yanks. But buyin' lenses from a factory churnin' 'em out for the Japanese crowd don't make 'em "Japanese lenses." Just keep it straight with us, quit feedin' us them tall tales, and come clean already!

Dogs at rifle matches

I'm curious if you guys can share best practice here. I'm shooting my first match next Saturday the 14th - I figured I'd give it a try because every stage is going to be shot from prone or "modified prone" (not sure what that is) which I think is going to be as easy as it can get. Also, you have to shoot suppressed, event is called the "Belly Button Can Jam" in CO Springs.

I'm going to try my best to come in dead last, but I was thinking, since the entire thing is going to be suppressed, can I bring my dog? I imagine she'd be sitting in the car most of the day, but wanted to ask you guys if this would be considered weird behavior or not. My dog sitter worthy friends are busy that day so if not I need to come up with a solution.

SOLD Kestrel 5700 Elite

For sale only, sorry no trades.

Kestrel 5700 Elite (applied ballistics)

NOTE: this is the non-link version...i.e. no Bluetooth. The data transfer cable to connect the kestrel to a desktop comes with the unit.

Honestly it wasn't an issue not having the link. All you need is to download the AB profile loader desktop program and you're good to go. The program has the full AB library and cdm's.

It's used and shows use, few scuffs is all.

Bonus: I just sent it back to Neilson-Kellerman for a health check before listing.....it's been checked out and ready to go.

$385 shipped

Pp f/f, venmo or pmo accepted for payment

Beating a Dead Horse - LPVO 1-8 /1-10

Working on outfitting a new rifle with an LPVO. Will be an Sig MCX Spear Lt in 5.56.

I am wanting to do an LPVO. I have several rifles with red dots, so this is not that rifle.

Looking for great 1x performance and daylight bright. 1-8or10.

Options I am currently looking at

Vortex 1-10
NX8
Atacr
Vudu
Kahles
Credo

So Kahles is the most money. I can get Atacr for less than the Vortex. Followed by Vudu, NX8 and Credo. Is it worth paying 10-15% more money for a Vortex over an Atacr? Is the Atacr that much better than NX8 with the same DMX reticle?

This is will be a do it all self defense rifle and also for classes. I know there are compromises but what would you chose and why?
