MSNBC Warns of ‘Boiling Seas’ from Climate Change!

MSNBC warned Monday of “boiling seas” due to climate change, citing ocean readings of 100ºF off the coast of Florida.
Never shy about employing incendiary rhetoric, MSNBC seems to have forgotten that while the boiling point of water is 100º Celsius, it is actually 212º on the Fahrenheit scale.
In his jeremiad titled “We’ve reached the ‘boiling seas’ part of the climate crisis,” MSNBC writer and editor Hayes Brown laments that “oceans around the world are breaking record temperatures thanks to climate change.”
Oceanic temperatures have hit “worrying highs” around the world, Brown writes, and off the coast of Florida, water temperatures seem “more suitable to hot tubs than the open sea.”
It is “beginning to feel like the hackneyed ‘frog in a slowly boiling pot’ analogy for climate change is more apt than ever,” he cautions.
Warmer sea waters a greater chance “we begin to see mass die-offs of fish and other sea creatures literally drowning,” he prophesies.
“The warming of the waters promises to continue to be a growing threat so long as humans continue to contribute to the heating of our planet,” he intones in conclusion, and as things stand, “we are coming dangerously close to hitting the ‘boiling seas’ phase of our climate apocalypse.”
Unfortunately for Mr. Brown and his fellow alarmists, a little research shows that water temperatures around Florida are basically where they are every year at this time.
The water temperature at Miami Beach, for instance, is currently 86ºF, which is exactly the average August temperature over the past ten years.
At Pensacola Beach, water temperatures stand at 86ºF today, slightly below the average of 86.2ºF.
And with seawater temperature currently at 82ºF, Daytona Beach is undergoing something of a cool spell, since the ten-year average temperature for these dates is 84.2ºF.
Digging a little deeper, one discovers that the 100ºF reading came from a water temperature sensor in Manatee Bay near Everglades National Park. The water around this particular sensor is reportedly murky and “contaminated with sediment” and “water temperatures are reflective of the fact that darker surfaces absorb more heat.”
With more and more people suffering from psychological disorders due to terror of an imaginary climate apocalypse, one wonders why Mr. Brown and his ilk insist on climate fearmongering with talk of “boiling seas.”
Stoking the fears of the faint of heart and suggestible of mind is hardly the mark of responsible journalism.

Just think, ALL the boiled shrimp and crab you can eat...for FREE!

Sig P320 Fires in Holster? : Sig's Response to Montville CT Police Dept.

Here is Sig Sauer's official response to the Unintended Discharge that occurred with an improperly holstered p320 at Montville, CT police Department:

SIG SAUER Statement on Montville, CT Police Department Incident

July 31, 2023

NEWINGTON, N.H., (July 31, 2023): SIG SAUER has the following statement relative to a reported unintentional discharge from an officer at the Montville, CT Police Department on Monday, July 24, 2023:
“We have seen the news reporting of the incident involving a P320 discharge at the Montville (CT) Police Department. We are confident, as is the case in all instances, that when the factors and evidence are reviewed this will be proven to be an unintentional discharge as a result of inadvertent contact with the trigger, and that the pistol did not fire without a trigger pull.
In reviewing the video footage of this incident currently available, it appears that the involved firearm was not fully seated in its holster and the holster retention hood was not fully closed over the pistol at the time of discharge (images below). This improperly holstered condition would have left the firearm’s trigger exposed and vulnerable to actuation. Even if properly holstered, the features of the involved holster allow for foreign object intrusion and interaction with the trigger, as has been seen in other incidents.
We regret that the involved agency jumped to conclusions regarding the cause of this discharge without first carefully examining the footage of the incident and providing SIG SAUER with an opportunity to assist in the examination of the involved firearm.
CT-POLICE-DEPARTMENT-INCEDENT-PR-IMAGE.png

The P320 model firearm is used effectively and safely every day, by both civilians and armed professionals.
Despite years of litigation and extensive discovery, no one has ever been able to replicate a condition under which the P320 could discharge without a trigger pull, and experts who have attempted to assert such a claim have been repeatedly thrown out of court as unqualified and/or unreliable. Three separate federal courts (in the matters of Frankenberry v. SIG SAUER, Mayes v. SIG SAUER, and Hilton v. SIG SAUER) have concluded that the two experts who have proffered a theory of uncommanded discharge are unfit to testify in court because they are unqualified and/or their opinions are untested and unreliable. In the only case regarding a P320 discharge to proceed to a full trial (Guay v. SIG SAUER), a jury of 12 rejected these experts’ unproven and unscientific theory, and found unanimously in favor of SIG SAUER. SIG SAUER stands behind the proven safety and reliability of the P320.”

Illinois governor signs law to allow non us citizens to become police

I wonder how this will turn out?

Zeroth law of thermodynamics will play out I suspect.

Just got my new passport.

Lots of enhanced security measures.

Didnt improve the photo though, I still look old and worn out.

What caught my eye, and did on the last one, is at the top of every page is a quote. Thought I'd post a few that inspire me.

"Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair." George Washington......They did, WTF happened?

"We have a great dream. It started way back in 1776. ...and God grant that America be true to to her dream." Martin Luther King.

"Let every nation know whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to insure the survival and success of liberty." John F. Kennedy

"Whatever America hopes to bring to pass in the world must first come to pass in the heart of America." Dwight D. Eisenhauer....That one takes my breath away... both in joy and sadness

"And that government of the people, got the people, and by the people shall not perish from this earth." Abraham Lincoln

None were perfect, but all gave some, two gave all. Washington wasnt killed but that one man gave three men's share to what we have.

There's one toward the end by Lyndon Johnson I'd like to tear out and burn.

It breaks my heart as I know it does yours to see this thing spit upon by those who never did anything for it. I want to scream and rage and fight, but when I consider a biblical view, and compare that to what I see unfolding in front of my eyes, I realize all I, we, can do is maintain personal integrity despite whats coming: And to strengthen the youth who will bear the brunt of it. Evil is afoot and will have its way. Until it doesnt.

Maggot out.

"Best" stock for precision 223 ar15?

I havent put together a rifle in a while and decided to go for a 223 wylde ar15 build. **I have all different size ar's from 7.5 - 20 inch but my 20s are more just your A4 types. parts arent exaxtly "precision" level lol. I have built different caliber ar15 and ar10 type precision rifles in the past and for the most part, all the interals are the same as far as higher quality parts.

That being said, I've always kind of just stuck with the mapgul prs stock (rifle buffertunbe). I like the gen 1 and I have 1 gen 2 and it's just as good. I havent tried a gen 3 but I've heard it's about an inch longer in the LOP. I'm 6'3" so the LOP isn't going to really change anything. I did try a LuthAR stock once and hated it.

Im just seeing if there is anything "better" than the magpul prs stock that's out now.

should i sell outright or find a trade to make weight?

I've recently gotten into more IBS stuff and have tactical gear, shooting tactical class. I kinda want to swap around so i can make weight for light class. I'm sitting on a nf atacr 5-25 in a spuhr mount and its heavy.... heavy heavy. Also in an ai chassis with bipod. I'm pretty sure that i can make the barreled action work in a benchrest stock with something more like the NF benchrest scope and make weight. Any opinions on whether it would be easier to sell then buy new stuff, or try to find a BR guy looking to get tactical gear?

thanks for the feedback in advance.

So even if it was a stolen car and even if they actually knew the difference between states why handcuff a minor child ? And by the way the car was not stolen.

Is this why no one from Epstein island has been arrested- no one is smart enough to figure out which state ALL the doxxed names are actually from?

Spotting scope $1000ish

I am looking to get a spotter. Primary use will be spotting game (deer) from the truck window or tripod. At this point I don't expect to haul it into the backcountry so size or weight doesn't really concern me.

At this budget I can't be to picky on zoom range. As for distance I would say the further the better but I realize I am not buying premium so again I can't be to picky.

Cabelas has razor hd 20-60 on sale right now. That falls well in my budget.

Maven has a 15-45 for 800.

Not sure what else to look at. Not interested in anything from China. I can deal with Philippines or some other country.

Can this be done with my budget or should I just wait?

SOLD Knights Armament SR25 Vero Beach Pre-Ban

Knight’s Armament SR25
Vero Beach, FL Pre-Ban

9.9/10 condition. I can’t definitively say, but I’m confident it’s unfired. There is no carbon anywhere and the gun is immaculate. Original waffle style Armalite magazine.

This version of the rifle is rare “standard” model as it utilizes an A2 post and a floated M16 style handguard. The carry handle is removable. The 21xxx SN puts it as late 1993 based on my research.

I got it with the intention to do a MK11 build but I have too many other projects I’m working on currently.

Asking $5000 shipped and fully insured. You won’t find one in better condition. May do partial trade on higher end optics but must be FFP and MIL/MIL. Open to offers on cash and cool stuff.

Local to Cincinnati, OH for face to face.

REPORT: Not One 8th Grader at LeBron James’ I Promise School Has Passed State Math Test in 3 Years!

lebron-james-addresses-the-media-following-the-grand-opening-of-the-i-promise-school-on-july.jpg

Not a single 8th grader at the I Promise School LeBron in Akron, Ohio, a school founded by LeBron James, has passed their state math test in three years, and critics are blasting the school for its unkept promises.
When LeBron James dropped into Akron with great fanfare and media coverage in 2018, promising to fund a new sort of school to help educate young people in his hometown, many hailed him as just the savior the city needed. But did James’ “I Promise” school fulfill its promises? Test scores are showing that it hasn’t.
Now, even Akron school board members are beginning to question James’ commitment to actual education and wondering if it was more about burnishing his reputation as a philanthropist than a serious effort to reform and reinvigorate education.

Last week, members of the Akron school board began taking a closer look at James’ so-called I Promise school and found that real academic achievements are few and far between.
The state of Ohio also found problems.
Per Yahoo News: “Two of I Promise’s biggest subgroups of students, Black students and those with disabilities, are now testing in the bottom 5% in the state, landing the school on the Ohio Department of Education’s list of those requiring targeted intervention.”
Akron school board President Derrick Hall said he was “disappointed” by the school’s serious deficits.

“For me as a board member, I just think about all the resources that we’re providing,” Hall told the media. “And I just, I’m just disappointed that I don’t think, it doesn’t appear like we’re seeing the kind of change that we would expect to see.”
Keith Liechty-Clifford, the Akron School District’s director of school improvement, said, “It is discouraging.

James’s school makes airy assertions about how important education is on its website on a page touting its “I Promise Method.”

With education as the driving force of change, the LeBron James Family Foundation is not only spreading that impact and improving lives of inner-city students and families, but also shifting the course of an entire community. Focusing on his hometown of Akron, the Foundation’s I PROMISE program provides year-round resources, access to opportunities, supportive skill development, constant encouragement and other wraparound supports to more than 1,300 Akron Public School students who have all been guaranteed college scholarships if they do their part. These efforts have culminated in the groundbreaking new public school – the I Promise School – that is taking an innovative approach to providing a challenging, supportive, and life-changing education, creating a new model for urban public education.

James earned much media praise for dropping into Akron in 2018 to announce his grand school funding ideas.
“This is a huge moment, not only in my life, not only in my family’s life, not only in the foundation’s life but for these kids and for the whole city of Akron more importantly,” James said in a speech on opening day. “This is a huge moment for all of us.”
But it soon came to light that Ohio taxpayers were still paying most of the school’s expenses, just like any other school. More than 75 percent of the funding is still coming from government sources.
There is also still inner-city crime to deal with on the campus of James’ school, too. Last year a teen was beaten to death in the school’s parking lot.
Now the Ohio Department of Education is about to pour even more state-funded resources into the I Promise school in a desperate attempt to increase test scores.
In hopes of turning the failing school around, the Akron School District has assigned a new principal for the coming school year. That candidate, Stephanie Davis, pronounced her hopes for the future.
“One of the things I’m most excited about coming into the I Promise School is the optimism and energy around getting our students to a level of achievement we know they’re capable of,” Davis said. “At the recent board meeting, our preliminary (state testing) data was shared, but it’s important to note that proficiency is based on mastering grade-level standards.”
But Board President Derrick Hall also tried to take the heat off LeBron James’ foundation, saying that criticism should be on the heads of school officials, not the foundation. “The foundation’s not here to educate our kids,” Hall said. “That’s our job..
Still, it is remarkable that despite all the media stroking James received for his school investment plan, he is also getting a pass for that same school’s utter failure to educate.
