Gluten for punishment...a 5.45x39 AR

I finally tripped across a 5.43x39 AR barrel and bolt just when that ammo has become hard to get and insanely expensive. Lucky me. The problem is, I really like that cartridge. I've got decent loading dies for the 5.45x39 and .220 bullets but no brass! LOL! Hornady brass ammo is crazy priced if you can find it at all. I saw some on Ammoseek and it was $3.50 a round. I can't remember the last time I saw anything that cost $3.50 a round. I did pick up a few hundred rounds of Golden Tiger at less than eye watering prices. Perhaps the Ukrainians will stomp the crap out of the Russians this summer and free up some ammo. That makes me feel like a turd. Hoping the Ukrainians wipe out the Russians so I can buy 5.45x39 ammo cheap...

I've got the barrel on a spare Aero Precision upper receiver and I'm going to use a Superlative adjustable gas block. I'm using a Midwest Industries two chamber muzzle brake for two reasons. One, it is cheap. Two, if you squint it kinda looks like an Ak74 brake. I've also got a hard chrome enhanced firing pin. I'm staying with surprisingly nice Timney Impact for now that's in the lower I'm using, unless I start getting light strikes.

I have a single ACR 5.45x39 30-round magazine. I hear they're marginal. I loaded it with 30 rounds and hand cycled it through the rifle (without the firing pin) without a hitch. I then loaded 30 rounds in a 5.56x39 Lancer Magazine and did the same thing. I then repeated the it all again but this time using a Duramag 6.8 SPC. Does anyone have any insight on magazines for a 5.45x39 AR? Testing will begin as soon as the carbine length gas tube shows up this afternoon. I'm always missing something.

Everything wrong with the world today in one picture......plastic rant

What you see is just how it was in the box. Right on top. This crap pisses me off to no end.

One single scrap of paper inside a plastic bag.

WHY?!?!?!

You don't need a plastic bag to put a bit of paper in I am going to toss. Now I have another thing to toss out, or more likely burn, like what happens to most plastics, they are burned. If you don't know plastic does not recycle real well, very poorly as a matter of fact. It works so well that the Chinese even refuse to do it. That alone should tell you something.

Oh but you say, it has that little recycle symbol on it.....wrong o' bucko. That symbol tells you what type of plastic it is made out of. Doubt me look up plastic types symbols, sure looks a great deal like a recycle symbol don't it......and that is by design.

Not shocking at all 90% of what you have been told is a lie. But why? As usual follow the money.

Just incase you missed my last rant on this bullshit as it was in the middle of another thread, here are a couple videos on the subject, one even from a former "main stream" media guy, admitted he has gone off the res. I really like the second video, good info in there, plus she is kinda cute too.

Maryland Mother and Daughter Dismember Grandma’s Remains with Chainsaw and Burn Them on Grill. Guess who...

suspects Craig and Hardy

A Maryland woman is accused of killing her mother and recruiting her daughter to dismember the remains with a chainsaw and burn them on a grill over Memorial Day weekend.
Authorities from Prince George’s County Police Department did a wellness check on June 2 for 71-year-old Margaret Craig, whom a neighbor said he hadn’t spoken to in several days, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Craig’s daughter, Candace Craig, 44, answered the door for police and allowed them inside to look for Margaret. The officers immediately noticed the smell of decomposition in the basement. The officers noticed “blood and tissue on the floor near three white trash bags,” ABC 7 reported. One of the open trash bags appeared to contain brain matter in it.
Police also found a knife sitting on the basement floor, but when they returned it was missing. There was blood splatter all throughout the basement floor, a chainsaw cover, and cutting utensils.
“To say it’s disturbing is an understatement,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy told WTOP news. “It’s horrifying.”
Candace’s 19-year-old daughter, Salia Hardy, allegedly found the remains on May 24, a day after the murder, in plastic tubs and helped her mother dismember the body with a chainsaw and burn it on the charcoal grill.
The remains were in such rough shape that the lab is still waiting for the DNA results to confirm it is Margaret. The cause of death may be unable to be determined.
“When you’re talking about your elderly parents, as they get older, it’s our duty as children to protect our parents, and certainly our duty to not murder them and to then dispose of them in such a gruesome way,” assistant state’s attorney Jessica Garth said.
Craig is being charged with first and second degree murder, and Hardy is charged with accessory after the fact. They are both being held without bond. Craig is due in court for a preliminary hearing on July 3.

PRS Talk SPR for PRS?

My OCD is getting the best of me again! Lol
I’m going to my first PRS style match this weekend in Navasota TX, with Texas Precision Matches.

I hunt and shoot at distance currently with a MK12 Mod 1 clone rifle and 77gn match 5.56. I have a clone correct 2.5-8X Leupold MK4 on the rifle.

I wanted to shoot PRS to hopefully make myself a better hunter while being forced to shoot under stress in real world shooting positions. I’ve shot F-class for years, but I know this is a completely different style of competition.

I’m now wondering if I’d have a better experience if I brought my 6.5X47 bolt gun with 5-25 mil/mil optic. Just don’t know what I don’t know….and I’m worried I’m gonna suck worse than ever if I try to run a small caliber gas gun.

Thanks boys!
