Someone should have snagged it! I decided to shoot it again and shot some .6 inch groups several times easily. So decided I will just keep it, and maybe ditch something else I don't use.

Like new scar 20 in308. I had D.Wilson cut it to 16 inches to make it more handy. I shot it one range after he cut it. Less than 40 rds amd never fired. It before because I have one already. It shot better with the cut, smoother for sure! Has a Precision Armament brake on it. Older model that reciprocating handle .This has sat unfired for almost 2 years and Im gonna be traveling internationally for at least a year, maybe more, coming in a few months so I decided to lighten my collection. I also have tons of 20 rd. mags I can sell with it for a good price. I’d have to dig them out. I live in Tampa for face to face.

I just watched a video that used red Loctite to find lands. It looks simple. Anyone doing that?

A friend of mine, and of many hide users was killed this week on his way home from work by a street racer who crossed the center median. This didn’t feel right for the pit so I’m posting it here.

Jake Barnhardt was a Special Forces medic with 5th group and had an accomplished career as assaulter and sniper, killing a whole lot of ISIS fighters along the way. Not too many Soldiers are true killers in the best way, but Jake was one of them. Not a mantle most would credibly claim for themselves but Jake was deserving of that title.

Jake had moved on from active duty and was thriving as a husband and father, developing new technology to support the warfighter when he was taken by a negligent pos.

His family is going through a lot right now, and unfortunately the employer life insurance coverage doesn’t match the sgli he previously carried. So after a long 10 hour sit-down-and-think session, I've decided on the Mk216 or 218 for my first gasser. It was a close tossup between that or buying stripped Mars receivers and a proof barrel conversion, but decided that I could take the price difference and spend it on some gucci glass and grow as a shooter first, since I probably can't even push the accuracy of the PWS system, much less a proof barrel.

That being said, I see in a couple of older threads that people are shooting sub-moa groups with their 218's. Does the 216 enjoy the same or similar accuracy? And will anyone with a 218/216 chime in about their experiences with the platform? The major reasons I'm considering a 216 over a 218 are barrel life, ammo availability even though I do plan to reload for this rifle eventually, and length/weight. My only .30 cal can is a big long chonker, I think it's 7 inches long. Quiet but stupid heavy. With my use case being DMR matches + growing as a precision shooter in general, the gun will occasionally be shot off shoulder and not exclusively off bags/bipod/barricades, so weight and length is a factor.

Also since PWS is kinda slow to answer my emails, does anyone know who makes PWS's barrels/where they get their blanks from? Just curious.

Thinking about getting one should i go with the glock 17/19 instead as i am concerned it will become discontinued like many sig products and replaced for another like how the ngsw failed n will now disappear like the 1st gen mcx

I am mounting a Sightron 45x on a Tikka T1X for 50 yard BR. The EGW picatinny rail extends 1.5" past the front of the receiver. Should I limit the foward ring to sitting on the receiver or move it more forward to the section of the rail that exteends out over the barrel? Thanks for your input.

i know its a long shot but ive seen a few posts so im wanting to trade a v3 autothrow with ingenuity precision trickler for a supertrickler.

So I recently got bit by the build my own custom rifle bug and it’s not going away. Being that this will be my first custom rifle what actions should I be considering? It seems like a lot of these types of threads I have read through suggest a big horn origin. But, just curious as to what others are out there or if that is the road I should be going down.

Main uses for the gun:
Michigan hunting 50-100 yards typical maybe 100-250 on the off occasion
Plinking at the local range out to 200
Every once in a while out to the not so local 600 yard range

I also would like to get started in reloading. I currently do not have any experience reloading but would like to start with this custom rifle. Any suggestions on good calibers for my main uses and an easier caliber to get started into reloading would be helpful.

The bill passed the Senate, and has made its way to the Democrat-controlled House a couple of days ago. We finally get to take a look at everything going into this:

All AR15/AR10's and AK's style rifles
PDWs like the CZ Scorpion or H&K MP5 or anything like it
Semi-Auto Shotguns with a Pistol Grip

There will be a Grandfather clause for those who already own these weapons, but only for one generation (meaning your children cannot pass on your firearms to their children). The language of the bill makes it sound like there will not be an exception for parts that you can assemble into a firearm, so it might be best to stock up on triggers, barrels, handguards, etc.
