Texas Governor Greg Abbott met President Joe Biden at the El Paso Airport and handed him a scathing letter regarding the growing border crisis. Biden landed in El Paso for a brief visit before heading to Mexico City.
Abbott wrote, “Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late. Moreover, your visit avoids the sites where mass illegal immigration occurs and sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners whose lives have been destroyed by your border policies.”
“This chaos is the direct result of your failure to enforce the immigration laws that Congress enacted,” the Texas governor continued. “Your open-border policies have emboldened the cartels, who grow wealthy by trafficking deadly fentanyl and even human beings.”
Biden arrived in El Paso on Sunday for his first-ever visit to the Texas-Mexico border. While the El Paso Sector is currently the busiest of the nine southwest border sectors, the president was not able to see much of the chaos and inhumanity created by his border security and immigration policies. In the days leading up to the presidential border visit, Border Patrol agents and El Paso police created a Potemkin village of sorts by rounding up migrants who camped on the streets in freezing conditions after Biden administration policies prohibited them from entering federally funded shelters.
In the letter to the president, Abbott accused Biden of violating his “constitutional obligation to defend the States against invasion through faithful execution of federal laws.”
Abbott’s scathing comments to the president continued:

Halfway through your presidency, though, I can finally welcome you to the border. When you finish the photo-ops in a carefully stage-managed version of El Paso, you have a job to do:

• You must comply with the many statutes mandating that various categories of aliens “shall” be detained, and end the practice of unlawfully paroling aliens en masse.
• You must stop sandbagging the implementation of the Remain-in-Mexico policy and Title 42 expulsions, and fully enforce those measures as the federal courts have ordered you to do.
• You must aggressively prosecute illegal entry between ports of entry, and allow ICE to remove illegal immigrants in accordance with existing federal laws.
• You must immediately resume construction of the border wall in the State of Texas, using the billions of dollars Congress has appropriated for that purpose.
• You must designate the Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

Hey folks, been lurking for some time, and have just broke the news to momma, I'm gonna bide my time lookin, but ideally I'm looking to buy (new or used) a scope for 2k, I don't need a chinese checkered christmas tree reticle or built in bottle opener, I'm lookin for the most durable, simple, watertight, fogproof ect. around 4-20 power scope available, illumination is fine, but don't need stupid levels of it, this will be mainly a target scope that'll never see past 500 yards, and probably 2-3 trips a year in the field to take a deer or 6....I just want a damned reliable scope that holds zero even if dropped, and really good glass....I'm about half blind anymore and this scope needs to replace my glasses when I dial in on a deer...Or target. Any suggestions?? Like I said, I'm willing to wait it out for a higher cost used scope in place of a new one if I can get lucky, and you guys would have a lot more background on models I could get in the top end of the used range as well, I wouldn't know what would be a smokin deal or not in that regard....Oh yeah, I prefer 1st focal plane, but could get used to 2nd....

Should I be able to zero my rifle at 100 yards with this optic, if I have a mount that has 20 MOA built in?

My goal is to shoot 800-1000 yards with 6.5cm.

I just did ar10 build. Used a laser boresight and I seem bottomed out on my elevation with the boresight laser riding 8 MOA high against an object that’s 30 yards away. At 100 yards there should be even a greater disparity right?

OK so here goes... Isn't MOA the same out of a $500 rifle vs a $5,000 rifle? I mean what am I missing here? If I buy a $500 rifle and it shoots MOA @100m wont it still be MOA at say 1000m? I just can't believe that the bullets gets out to 300-400m and decides that "Hey, I was shot out of a shit gun so now I'm gonna just decide to veer off left 5 feet and drop in the dirt". So I was sent this "Stunning and Brave" presentation today at work. It was all about race and medicine. Like an asshole I clicked the link. (Seing as how I actually have published research on this matter, because like genes are a thing) However as I listened to this person's 'story' some shit didn't add up.

First, she claimed to have memories of being 5 months old. My oldest memories come in at about 1-2 years. Very few people remember back that far. I know of no one who can remember being 5 months old.

Second, claimed the KKK put a cross on fire at her house in Atlanta in the early 80s. Having actually lived through that time, absolute bullshit.

Now what gets me is that a group of adults (medical doctors no less), no one called her out on it (I was not actually present). I mean I've seen a lot of bullshit in the DEI push, but this one takes the cake (also when someone who is the head of medicine somewhere talks about their struggle with racism to succeed after going to prestigous universities and private schools all their lives).

Their only carrier is a rustbucket that cant deploy or even move by itself. Even France has one nuke powered one that actually works. A big fall from the mighty USSR.

My oldest is going to college in the fall, and the school she is going to still requires the covid vaccine (I know, beyond fucking stupid). They allow for an exemption, but the student needs to write an essay in their own words. I got one from a legal website that I used for my work, which worked flawlessly.
