HELP!! 6mm ARC cases stuck after sizing?

About 40% of my resized cases stick hopelessly in the chamber of my rifle and I have to mortar them out with a mallet and wooden dowel. Same result in two separate rifles with different manufactured parts.

I've resized one piece 3 times to confirm that I didn't short stroke. Sticks after every resize. I then measured dimensions and couldn't find any notable difference between the stuck cases and the others.

Parts and Tools are:

Forster Coax Press
Hornady 6mm ARC Die
JP Bolt with Proof Barrel
Odin Bolt with Faxon Barrel

Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Is It Fair To Say...

Anyone watching the WI v Brooks trial? He's the guy who plowed through a Christmas parade last November killing 6 and injuring many others. He's been representing himself pro se and it's been somewhat entertaining. I was hoping he would act more crazy in court such as Ronnie O'Neal. He's had to be removed a few times already and put in another courtroom. Today was pretty funny how he kept thinking there's a plaintiff in a criminal trial. I will tip my MAGA cap to the judge for having tons of patience and ensuring he gets a fair trial. Just sucks having to hear all those obnoxious WI accents. I'm personally getting sick of all those accents. Rittenhouse trial, Edgecomb trial, Halderson trial, and now Brooks.

New scope ideas

Learning to shoot long range.. I have a 308 lightweight rifle with a zeiss conquest 3-9x40mm (1 inch tube, height over bore is 1.8 inch duplex scope) I mainly use it for hunting, but I was wondering do I need a new scope with exposed turrets/bdc reticle for shooting longer range 400-1000 yards. Or the zeiss is plenty, just take off the caps and dial to the target range?

Not trying to break the bank or the weight scale because I still want to use rifle for hunting. Thanks for all help!

Bartlein/gunsmithing Question

Hey guys,

I have a potential issue with a Bartlein barrel And/or gunsmith but I may be overthinking things. I thought I would see what you guys think. **NOTE: this thread is NOT intended to bash Bartlein or my local gunsmith.**

I recently acquired a Defiance action and a Bartlein carbon fiber blank. I took both of those items to a local and reputable gunsmith who only builds precision rifles. I dropped off my items and had them chamber the blank in 6.5 SAUM, thread the muzzle, and install the barrel. When the project was completed, I spoke to the business, and they said the barrel gave them issues. Specifically they said the barrel was the most crooked barrel they’ve ever handled. By crooked, I took it as it had significant runout. The shop owner told a close friend of mine that my rifle may have accuracy issues and if the shooter (meaning me) is a good shooter he will possibly not be pleased.

My concern was whether or not I would have accuracy issues due to the potential problem. I was told to just shoot it and see how it does.

Am I wrong for thinking that my gunsmith should have stopped the project as soon as they believed the barrel had a significant amount of runout? My worry is Bartlein will blame the gunsmith, and the gunsmith will blame Bartlein, and here I will be stuck in the middle. Any advice here guys?

Kudos to Steiner

Hey Hiders, I have to give a shout out to the crew in Greeley, they just did something remarkable for us and our customers.

We had a great run on the closeout T5Xi 5122 model, but we had an incident where we oversold by a couple of units, we shut it down when we got notice but when the dust settled, we had two customers who were not gonna get their T5Xi. This is not ideal as you could imagine.

Steiner's solution? How about replacing the T5Xi with the new T6Xi 5-30x56?? No upcharge?? Would that work??? 😀 🥳 🤟

So, we turn a negative into a huge positive, and happy campers all around.

Thank you, Steiner! Major props to you.
