First PRS rifle: SIG Cross PRS v Tikka T3X a1

Hey everyone. I’m finally looking to enter the world of PRS and I’m relatively green when it comes to which is the best entry level rifle to shoot production class in.

I have it down to the Sig Cross PRS vs the tried and true Tikka T3X in 6.5cm. While the Tikka seems like the safe choice, the PRS model of the Cross seems to be getting good reviews in the few that have been done on it so far.

So help me with my first set up. Which rifle, and as an add on - what would be good entry level glass for them?

SOLD WTS Lapua 6.5 CM SRP Brass

Up for sale are 200x Lapua 6.5 CM SRP virgin brass. While these have never been fired, I did open them and ran them through my 21st Century Expander Die (with the 264 mandrel). My intent was to use them in matches for next year, but I decided to switch to 6GT and I don't need them anymore. They will come in the original box as pictured.

$90 SOLD per 100 shipped CONUS. I accept Zelle, PayPal F&F, or Venmo.

700 tenon thread diameters

I have a Remage barrel I was just putting on. When I screwed the action almost to the recoil lug I could feel the play up and down in the tenon threads. This action has not been trued, and has burnt out several barrels, as well as having a rotation of three other barrels I switch back and forth on it currently. None of them do this. I just measured the major diameter of the tendon thread and I am getting 1.059-1.060. I don't have ring gauges or micrometer , but when I put my caliper in the groves looking for the minor diameter I get 1.004. I measured both with two different calipers. This is unsafe and I should be returned correct?

The muzzle threads are so big my QD attachment also has to be turned on with wrench from about half way. Again none of my other barrels are like this. This barrel is a replacement for a barrel that the muzzle thread cut way undersized for a 5/8/24. With the muzzle device almost at the shoulder you could wiggle it up and down on the threads.

I don't mean by grabbing the end away from the threads. I mean if you grab it by the shoulder over the threads, you can fell it move up and down. For both.

SOLD Remington Defense Long Action RACS lightweight Chassis

For sale is my Remington Defense long action RACS. This chassis started life as a left handed model, and was machined by a professional to fit RH actions. For anyone familiar with this process, it isn't easy.
Included in this sale is:
  • Chassis & one accessory rail
  • Tan Cerakoted XM2010 marked LH center section.
  • 2 Racs specific 5rd magazines.
Someone previous to me decided to get an allen key stuck in one of the set screws, this doesn't hinder performance or function in any way

Price is $3650 Shipped in the lower 48
Paypal F&F, Venmo, or Zelle
I am new-ish to The Hide, but have great feedback on Tacswap and other sites.

NO TRADES, please send me a PM if interested

SOLD Rare Noveske Project Ares

B4D42327-1030-411A-B027-B4F44B5772F1.jpeg

Noveske Project Ares rifle - $2800 shipped Sold

More Pics

I am parting with a very rare Noveske Project Ares — the only Noveske factory rifle to use a Knights Armament rail and one of last rifles released while John was still alive. I emailed Noveske about some original build info since it's missing the original signed/dated certificate these came with, and learned this rifle was completed by them on 12/12/2011 and the barrel serial # matches their records for the original build.

Original rifle specs:

14.5” 1:7” mid-length gas stainless barrel w/ Mod 0 5.56 match chamber

AAC 51t blackout pinned to 16” non-NFA length

Gas block is pinned & barrel has black KG gunkote finish

KAC URX2 rifle length rail w/ integral front sight

KAC micro 600m rear sight

Noveske-marked Vltor upper

Noveske forged Gen 2 lower

Geissele SSA-E trigger

Noveske qd endplate

This is a gen 1 Project Ares rifle which uses a forged gen 2 lower receiver. The rifle has ~400 rounds through it per the original owner and is original except for the following parts — charging handle changed from Noveske/Vltor raptor to PRI gasbuster, stock changed from B5 Sopmod to Magpul STR and grip changed from Magpul MIAD to Tangodown BG-16. I have fired exactly one magazine through the rifle since I bought it and am the one who swapped out the parts, except for the stock. The rifle is in great condition, mostly showing just normal light wear from use and safe storage. The only notable cosmetic flaw worth mentioning, not from normal use, is where the previous owner tightened down some unnecessary screws in the sides of the KAC rail, leaving marks in the finish of the counterbores for screw heads in the rail (pictured).

Make sure your FFL will accept a shipment from an individual, otherwise you will need to cover the cost to have it shipped from an FFL on my end.

USPS money orders preferred, but I can also do discreet PayPal friends & family. The rifle will be sent via shipmygun.com w/ full value insurance.

Optics WTS NF ATACR 5-25 Mil-C

NF ATACR 5-25 F1 Mil-C. Sun shade, caps, tool and windage ring in the box. I can’t seem to find the manual. 2350 for the ride pay pal, friends and family or add 3%for goods and services. I would trade for an ATACR 4-20 Mil-XT or possible a ATACR 4-16 Mil-XT as I’m looking for something a little shorter and lighter for a 223 gas gun.

Suppressors Galled muzzle threads taking thunderbeast brake off. Had used hi heat red locktite

I was told to use red hi temp locktite for my tbas brake to keep rhe brake from coming off with the ultra 7. That worked but I took the brake off, which took a bunch of force. The threads on muzzle and inside the brake galled up a little bit.

Should I have heated it up first with small torch or is red hi heat locktite the wrong product

Air rifle questions

My old Crosman is worn out & can't cut the mustard anymore.
So I'm forced to enter the moderately priced (<$1000) air gun market to take care of some small vermin around the house.

1. Can a guy leave a PCP style air rifle like a Benjamin Marauder pressurized for a couple days to take care of a quick target of opportunity ?

2. Would the .22 cal pellet give a guy the best combination of accuracy, velocity, energy, availability/selection and cost ?

I have a budget limit of about $600-700 and pretty much have narrowed the search down to:

Benjamin Marauder_ - First choice
Seneca Sumatra 2500 - Second choice
or
Beeman R9
Air Venturi Avenger
HatsanBullboss QE

Am I way off in my thinking on this, I know More $$$ can buy better, but this just a pellet gun....LOL
Amazon or Walmart seems to have decent prices but I hear Wallyworld has a no return policy ?
Might just stick with PyramydAir or Airgundepot

Would anyone have an issue buying a used gun, ie seals, mechanism, action/barrel wear etc ?

Thanks

Gunsmithing Last couple days.

I don't get prints or models on this stuff. I get handed an artifact part and the party starts from there. Late yesterday afternoon the tree started to bear fruit.

M249 SAW feed cover trays in process. Bar stock 7075 AL.

Op2 in the puter. I ended up flipping the part 180* as it offered better access to certain features.
