SOLD Legit M993 .308 / 7.62 AP Black Tip “Carl Gustaf” CG Headstamp Ammo

This is **NOT** old M61 LC AP Ammo.
This is **NOT** Israeli M61 AP Ammo.
This is **NOT** handload or knock-off Ammo.
This is **NOT** repurposed 30-06 Black Tip projectiles.

This **IS** 100% legit, verified, confirmed “CG 07” and “CG 09” headstamped, Black Tip, factory M993. The rare stuff actually *selling* on GB for a ridonkulous $70/rd! 🤯

Some years back, I obtained some legit factory M993 Black Tip in a trade deal. I don’t even remember with who and for what, since it was probably 2017-ish.

I had absolutely zero clue what I was sitting on, until a few weeks ago when I took about 100 rounds and destroyed a couple of AR600 IPSC plates with it… just for fun. I also have a non-trivial amount of M80A1 and wanted to compare the two on hard steel. Turns out, the A1 will NOT penetrate AR steel out of an 18” PredatOBR 7.62, but M993 punches straight through, barely moving the plate — almost like it’s a paper target (at 100 yards).

After we were done, a “fellow gun enthusiast” asked me why I just burned through $7K in ammo. Modestly bewildered, I enquired “Whatchu talkin’ ‘bout, Willis?!” He pulled up a GB listing of legit M993 — selling 20 rounds for $1400. I figured it was just a silly listing, but they were SOLD! While I’d never pay $70 for any ammo, including Raufoss, it hit me that I’d just cranked through 100+ rounds of the stuff, completely clueless as to its value.

So, here I am, sitting on a small stash of the stuff thinking I should sell some off, since now I don’t wanna shoot it anymore at silly stuff. I figure I’ll keep 100-200 rounds for myself, for a Rainy Day and rehome the rest.

I don’t see much, if any, selling here, so I’ll toss it up on GB next week sometime, but figured I’d give The Pathetic Poors (aka, TPPs) on SH first crack at it for a “Special Needs” price.

10 rounds for $400 shipped CONUS via FedEx Ground. I’d rather not deal in smaller quantities. With every purchase, buyer gets a free ticket to Joe Biden’s inauguration in DC on January 20, 2025! Go Team Blue!!!

Open to trades. Looking for a winter-weight sweater hand-knit entirely from human bellybutton lint.

The Ass Kicking Will Continue Until Marksmanship Improves

I spent another day at the range today working my iron sighted 10/22 and Ruger Mk II pistol.

1707006478863.jpeg

I started out with the pistol shooting a dot torture drill and then transitioned to an Appleseed pistol qualification target at 7 yards. The PQT has some mandatory reloads, which are made a little more challenging by the MK II's heel mounted magazine release. I felt like it took me forever and caused me to rush shots so I didn't time out.

1707006351996.jpeg

I moved back to 25 and got everything sorted out for another run at the AQT. I shot one last weekend for the first time and did pretty good but I was trying out a new sling so I wanted to see it felt like I did better, worse, or about the same with it. Well, I think the tempo was set by the very first round where I got a stove pipe malfunction, had to clear that, realized I had a dead trigger, ejected a live round, and spent the next precious bit of time finding it on the ground and putting it in my pocket. By some miracle I had enough time to shoot the remaining eight rounds, load that single into the mag, and shoot all 10 before the timer went off. Things didn't improve on the sitting stage....I got into position well enough but when I made the mag transition I tried to put the 10 rounder in backwards and again felt like I spent way to long unfucking that. I finally got the new mag in just in time to start blasting, getting all rounds on a target in time. The prone stages went better but I still felt like I was rushing myself and not taking the time to make sure I had a good sight picture and it shows. Somehow squeaked out a 227/250 so good enough but down from my range trip last weekend.

1707007117111.jpeg

I'm really enjoying the back to basics aspect to this rifle with the loop sling and even though it's all at 25 yards, there aren't any gimme's, I still need to execute proper fundamentals and it's kinda obvious where I fucked that up along the way.

The iron sights I have on the 10/22 have a LR aperture that's supposed to add 5.9 MOA to get you relatively on target at 100 yards but when I tested it at 25 yards I was more like 7.5 MOA high so I'm going to test that tomorrow I think.

Rifle Scopes Lightest midrange hunting scopes

I'm looking for a light weight optic for my new hunting rifle in 7mm mag, shots will be under 600 yards.

I'm looking at leupold vx3hd, but would like a reticle that is can use for hold over.

Other one I'm looking at is a trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 with mil dot reticle. that's 13.4 oz

Any other scopes that are comparable that I'm missing?
Thanks

SOLD Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x44 LRTSi

Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x44 LRTSi. Illuminated , G3 reticle. Great scope, I've owned a few and these things are built like a brick shithouse. Forgiving eye box and the 44mm objective makes flat top mounting easy. Comes with a Leupold mount. Some light green spray paint in a few parts. Glass is in good shape with a few almost invisible marks. I over-accentuated them in the pictures, naked eye they're very hard to see.

Road Bikers Unite!

If I have this on the back of my Jeep...can I run stop lights as if I'm riding it? Can I just ignore all traffic laws in general?

1706985983877.jpeg

I've been a roadie for a long time; but took about a decade off due to laziness, and figuring riding my Harley(s) was good enough for two wheels. Just got back to pedaling again a few months ago...have been on the trainer since I got it. Was taking it to the bike shop today to get the stem cut down and handle bars dropped (slammed) to where they should be, didn't want to have that done when I bought it because I wasn't sure if being old would let me hunch over enough.

Come on fuckers, don't let The Hide make you skeer'd to show off your stuff.

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

So I went to check out the Gen3 Vortex 6-36 and buy it with a 30% off cert, but I wanted to check out the Leica PRS 5-30x and side by side them.
I expected to like them both about equally, and leave with the Vortex, which I did, but I really liked the Leica glass, more than I thought I would.

Everything I read comparing the two, gave the nod to the Razor as being better glass. The Leica was quite a bit brighter, and I liked the thickness of the Leica reticle a bit more. I think the Leica was useable down to 12x, whereas the Razor needed to be at about 25x to see the little sub tensions. I like the Razor turrets a bit more, though I love tool-less turrets.

I had a Gen 2 4.5-27 Razor, and my memory thinks that one was brighter than the Gen 3. I must be crazy lol.

The Leica reminded me a lot of my Kahles 6-24i, but maybe with a bit more resolution in the Leica. the Leica was very bright and crisp, whereas the Vortex was very good, but didn't exactly wow me.

What are your thoughts on these two? They are basically the same price. I have a TT 5-25, Schmidt Bender 5-25 with the DTII+ turrets, and I love them, but I wanted something less expensive for a 22LR build.

Looks like the Leica has quite a bit bigger FOV, being that it's 30x on the top end.

I need to get the Vortex to the range and check it out more thoroughly, but I'm feeling like I made a mistake.

1706967614809.jpegThese guys have been mentioned here before . Their shop and factory are local to me - inside 2 hours .
Great folks to do business with . They no longer sell to police departments, individual officers or government agencies they used to at a substantial discount and then found out the hard way those hero’s hated them. Were raided - ticketed and ordered to shut down several times during WhuFlu . Which is funny cause I’ve read here that police didn’t enforce those mandates. They never shut down and told the state and its agents to fuck off .
They post some funny and some informative stuff and occasionally a hilarious meme or two .
Have no connection to them as a company other than I like giving my money to local family/veteran owned businesses that share my values .
