Don't Trust Your Wife - TSA Finds a Gun in a Man's Suitcase

He may very well be telling the truth. Never trust someone else to pack your suitcase. There are thousands of stories of wives/girlfriends that will frame their men. This is one example.

Failure to fire Eley Ammo in V22

Finally made the jump from Base Class and will be shooting OG. Made the road trip to DST Precision and left a lot of my money behind with Troy. Troy had a used Vudoo V-22 barreled action with a 20" MTU barrel he took on trade. Mounted in MPA BA Comp chassis with Gun Candy finish, Triggertech Diamond trigger. Bought (100) each of Lapua Long Range, SK Biathlon, SK Match and SK Rifle Long Range to see what it likes.
Now for the issue. After getting my optic mounted headed off to the range to zero on the new set-up. Still have a brick of Eley Target (Yellow) so wanted to use the cheaper ammo while finding paper and initial zero. Third round goes "click" no bang. Ejected and check head and it shows good pin strike. Out of the next thirteen rounds had two more strikes and no fire. Three failures out of sixteen rounds. Stopped at this point as discovered my Arken EP-5 does NOT have enough downward elevation for 50y zero setting on a 40MOA rail. Still had to hold a full 1.2mil to get close. Different issue, waiting on new 20MOA rail to show up so I can try again.
I know the V-22's are chambered to Lapua rounds which is why I was planning on testing those brands. Is there anything about the V-22 chamber and Eley Target that could cause FTF or did I have a freak three out of sixteen bad rounds?

Reloading Equipment Ingenuity trickler lid!

First off if this is in violation let me know.

A good friend and his family were over this weekend and the guys were complaining about the tricklers if you over fill them and that they also are open to the elements if powder is left in them …well the ladies had an idea and it works! His daughter and wife are making these. They are 23.50 shipped each or 2 for 43.50. If you want one shoot them an email at [email protected]

They are made of Acrylic and fit pretty snug where you can now actually put a decent amount of powder in the trickler.

Back here after 3y hiatus

Hi everyone,

I used to post here a lot about 3y ago. Job changes and life changes -- anyway, now I'm in Texas and can shoot long range again. I have been in a communications hole for 3 years, so I'm just getting back to the forum.

I'm still a minute shooter to 800y and a bit rusty to 1K. My prior comp guns in Virginia were an Accuracy International .308 and a Clay Spencer 300WM. Now I need to restock the gun room.

Simple question -- what would you recommend as a good user switchable barreled action from which builder? I still want .308 due to barrel life, but I'd like to swap to 6.5 CM on my own. Is there something less expensive than AW? I'd prefer less than .75 MOA accuracy, and I'll do my part. Cost isn't so much an issue. I just want to build one gun to rule all my long range. Max distance is 1350y, but most of my shooting will be 700y-1k. I'm based in Dallas, TX. Thanks

I want a good 5-25x scope or similar….

Purpose would be mostly target shooting 300 yards in (that’s all I have access too these days). I want something with a larger eyebox than my Kahles 3-18x and more magnification for my poor eyesight (-7.5 D with astigmatism, and yes I wear my glasses when shooting).

I looked through a 5-25x Mark 5 Leupold this weekend and came away impressed. Seemed to have a decent eyebox even on 20-25x, clear glass. Was curious as to your thoughts on the Mark 5 vs say the ATACR 5-25x. The only other scope that blew me away recently was the Zeiss LRP S5 scope, but I’ve read people have had issues with the turrets (true or not)?

I just don’t shoot enough to justify a Tangent Theta, and I think S&B has priced themselves out of the market. Different suggestions are welcome. The Mark 5 seems to be the best “bang for the buck” in a military grade optic from what I have seen. I don’t necessarily need illumination right now, because I can’t even shoot at night at the places I have access too.

Thanks

Firearms Firearm Blowout (AI, Beretta, Armalite, Glock, Nemo, Stacatto, etc) - Price drops to move some stuff TODAY

Selling off this safe and the contents within. Combining all of my firearms into one ad as well for easy of bumping and organization.

10/5 Price DROPs indicated below. Need to move those items.

1) Glock 43. Standard, not X. Comes with 2 mags and a kydex holster and leather holster. A small amount of holster wear from carrying a lot but fired only a couple hundred rounds - $400 shipped

2) AI AX 2017 Sage Green Small Firing Pin in 6mm Creed. Comes with a brand new AI barrel from a vendor off the hide here. Threaded 5/8x24 with a 1:7.5 twist. I also have a spare Gradous barrel available with the gun for another $600. - $5,100 shipped (Minox, mount and bipid not included) - traded locally

3) Beretta 1301 Comp. In great condition, I just don't run 3-gun at the moment so I don't need it. 12 gauge, made in Italy, etc. Includes the Nordic mag extension. - $1200 shipped or $1400 with the Vortex Razor red dot on there - TRADE PENDING

4) RARE Armalite AR-15 SPR Mod 1. What makes this rare is the monolithic upper. Most that you see on gunbroker and stuff have the standard delta ring setup. My understanding is that these were Armalite's entry into the bidding at the same time as the Bushmaster ACR. Features a 16" barrel and monolithic upper. Very cool gun and in great shape! I have the original A2 if you don't want the magpul - Price DROP $1,100 shipped without the pictured Strike Eagle.

5) Nemo Arms Omen 300WM featuring a 1:8 twist Bartlein barrel. This includes the blast shield from Nemo and close to 80 rounds of
ammo now. It'll ship in the factory case with 4 magazines as well - SOLD

6) 6mm Creed built on a 419 action (defiance deviant tactical rebranded). Comes with a brand new and unfired 27" Bartlein 1:7 twist barrel threaded 5/8x24. Currently sits in an Xray chassis with a triggertech primary single stage trigger in it. Includes the APA fat bastard brake - Price DROP $2,100 shipped

7) Fabarms Elos N2 Allsport Over Under 12 gauge. I bought this for trap and skeet but for how much I shoot I don't need more than my Beretta. These retail for close to $4,000. Asking $2,400 shipped - LOCAL TRADE PENDING

8) Scar 20S RCH with a custom 22" Deadshot 308 barrel threaded 5/8x24. Less than 100 rounds through the barrel. Comes with 9 factory magazines and Atlas CAL - $3,800 shipped. For $1700 more I'll add a Badger C1 mount and NF NX8 4-32 MilXT with it and the iron sights and a case of ammo (aka $5,500 shipped for everything)

9) Stacatto C2 with TLR7A. Comes with several holsters fit to be light bearing. Not optic ready but such an awesome gun. Just don't need this and my 92X anymore. - $2,000 shipped with 3 magazines, TLR7A, and the holsters. - TRADE PENDING

Trades:

- high end mil/mil optics
- FN Ballista
- AXMC 6mm creed barrel
- AXMC 300 NM barrel
- 6mm, 223, or 338 LM match ammo
- 223 or 9mm target blasting ammo

Local to MI:
- need a 7x10 or so utility trailer
- black truck bed cap for a Gladiator
- Could use a 2015 or newer smaller SUV in trade as well (can obviously add cash if you don't want a bunch of these).
- Floor tile labor. I can do it myself but I would trade for tile work. Already bought the material, just need someone to lay it.
- Electrical work (running supports, lights, wires, and switches in a detached garage)
- Spray in insulation work (need it for the detached project and want to redo the insulation in the attic)
- Cement work (I think I remember this being 20x24' but would need to measure again. Back part of a garage that was a horse stable)
