To load or not to load

So, let's talk about loading for PRS. I'm a very busy guy with a demanding job and a 4 year old at home that wants to spend time with her daddy. I load ammo for a dozen cartridges, but it's always been the thing I find the most difficult for PRS. I just don't have the time. I was staring at this decision again today with the gap grind in 2 weeks I need 200 for the match+ zero, true data, practice, etc. I think (and I haven't timed this), I've got to be around 2 hours per hundred rounds by the time I do brass prep and loading and all of it. So, I bought 500 rounds of sierra 107gr factory delivered to my door for $575. I figure to load my 6 creed, I'm at about $1.00 per round in components. So, if I load it myself, I'm working for 10 hours for $75. That just won't work. I have done this both ways, and when I miss targets at a PRS match, it isn't because my factory ammo is shooting .75 and my handloads are .35, it's because I fucked something up in either my fundamentals or in dialing or calculations, or one of another 100 reasons. It's not the ammo. What say you hide folks, loading vs buying for PRS? Keep in mind, I'm not knocking anyone off of any podiums. Middle of the pack is a good day for me. I don't have the time to practice enough to be good at this, but I enjoy it.

Firearms High End Scope Sell-Off (S&G, Leupold, Minox, Steiner)

I've got four high end scopes but only need to keep one of them. I am willing to keep any of the 3 besides the Schmidt because I want the higher power zoom.

USPS MO or a bank cashier check highly preferred for payment.

1) Schmidt & Bender PMII DT 4-16x50mm Mil/Mil (.1 MRAD) Gen2XL reticle (per the box). Comes with box and bikini caps. Great shape with very minor dings on turrets - $2,300 shipped
2) Minox ZP5 5-25 Mil/Mil MR4 reticle. White box but don't have the box anymore. Small dings on the hard corners of the turrets but otherwise good - $1,900 shipped
3) Steiner M5Xi 5-25 Mil/Mil MSR2 reticle. Comes with the box. Body is in great shape, very very faint swirls on the exterior of the objective lens but not noticeable through the optic at any power as far as I can tell - $1,800 shipped
4) Leupold MK5 7-35 H59 reticle. New, opened and mounted and then put back. $2,000 shipped and I'll toss in a Leupold unimount, otherwise $1,900 for the scope itself.

- 223 Rem or 6mm creed match ammo
- 223 or 9mm factory blasting ammo
- AXMC
- AXSR
- AXSA

SOLD Patriot Valley Arms John Hancock Rifle (308) barreled action

This is an early sample of PVA's John Hancock Rifle. It got a 24" 308 barrel and is crazy accurate. It also has a sweet Jewell trigger. The first two targets showed my initial load development on two range trips. The last target showed 15 consecutive casual shots I fired on my recent range trip after letting it sit in the safe for 4 or 5 years. It was shot 314 times and the barrel is probably just settled in.

John Hancock Rifle is of Remington 700 short-action footprint. This action is a contract run from American Rifle Company using a modified Nucleus action. ARC initially used light (16-lb) springs for the firing pin on their early nucleus actions. I had some ignition issues on the hard Russian primers. I sent the bolt to ARC for them to replace with their current 19-lb spring and have never never had any issue.

$1550 shipped to your FFL. If you don't need the jewell trigger, take $100 off.
SPF

Scope/rings not included.

Accessories McMillan A6 Multicam

Another one I hate to get rid of, but decided I am never going to use. McMillan A6 with a duracoat multicam finish straight from McMillan. Inlet for a Rem 700 sa and has adjustable cheek riser and length of pull. Can’t remember what the barrel channel is, but would need opened slightly for a Proof Sendero, which is all I had available to try. Unused and only one small nick in the coating from the gun safe as shown in pic. Asking $900 shipped

How do you guys fix your muzzle devices?

Lots of issues with Sig MPX muzzle devices in the past with accuracy. I can say that I shot mine with the new muzzle device today and it groups 1" at 25 yds. I just put a little torque on it, no measurement, just a "bit" to stick it. Shot twenty rounds to see how it did.

I was reading "somewhere" to not torque them down. Only Rockset or Lockitite and not touch for a day or two.

Anyone else do that? This is a suppressor host

Spring hunting trip recommendation

I am looking for help in planning a hunting trip with my son for his spring break. He is a junior in highschool and wants to do something other than a beach trip. My first inclination was Alaska, but it is still ball shrinking cold in March. I am clueless on what may be hunted, where, during that time of year. If spring is simply not a time anything can be hunted anywhere, other recommendations? Does anyone have any knowledge, sites I can reference, or know of companies that specialize in this? I am wanting to stay in North America.

I appreciate any help you all can give.

Suppressors Need help with Thunderbeast Magnus SR

Recently mounted a Thunderbeast Magnus SR on my bergara hmr .308 with a Nightforce NX8 4-32. Before putting on the can I got a zero with just the brake, decent sub moa 5 shot groups X5 just to see if anything was wonky. When I put on the can I had to bottom out my elevation and was still 2.8mil high at 100. I have no idea what was causing this I was running a ATS turner. Took it off re-mounted the brake last night and repeated the same process this morning same result. I am stumped

SOLD S&B 5-25x6 with uncommon DTII .1 MRAD locking turrets - MSR2

For sale is a clean Schmidt 5-25 with MSR2 reticle. There are very faint ring marks, but otherwise it’s flawless.

I special ordered this one with with a somewhat uncommon turret… I’m not sure whether they make this turret anymore, but it has the locking lever with a .1 mil adjustment. These type of locking turrets typically are only seen with the .05 mil adjustment.

$Sold shipped with signature requirement via FedEx. No trades at this time, thanks.

Well, thats that

I'm sure he regrets his life choices now..
I feel bad for the sons in a way. How could a son of Chapo NOT be doomed at birth - expected to carry on the family business no matter what. Yet nonetheless, Cesar Guzman, Chapos 2nd oldest - apparently managed to live on the straight and narrow and is simply a restaurant owner.

And fuck Merrick Garland, obviously. But some damn strong police work by the DEA. How the hell they managed to infiltrate the Guzman faction of the Sinaloa Cartel to this level I don't know.. it's fairly unprecedented. Apparently A LOT of money was thrown around when recruiting informants .. ie amounts never seen before.

They might even put him in ADX Florence, same prison his father sits in.. yet the ones truly responsible for the success of the drug trade(IMO) are living large in Langley and DC... and Mexico City, etc. However bad Chapo is/was, those fckrs are worse.
