Big win coming for 2A in Comifornia??

Now I know most of you here would prefer the entire state slide tragically and painfully into the ocean (I'm totally good with alot of it going) but it's looking like our next President is fixing to get kicked in the dick. Mag ban and AW ban going down!! FGN FJB!!
I'll believe it when I see it......but got to have some hope!!

How light is too light?

About to start a build for a friend. He wants a lightweight magnum/back country rifle, probably in 300 PRC. Working component list is as follows:

-Bighorn TL3
-Triggertech special 2 stage
-Proof CF barrel sendero @ 24” 1:9 twist
-MDT HNT 26 chassis, folder with arca rail option
-Leupold mk 5 HD 3.6-18x44 scope
-MK IV rings
-Dead Air Nomad LTi

Adding what weight I can find for components comes up to just under 10 lbs not counting ammo. My question is, is that too light? Is the thing going to kill at both ends? He’s ex-military, SF, big dude, not recoil averse, etc. It’s just that he’s probably looking at $7-8k, all in, and I don’t want him to have a rifle that is a terror to shoot. Would love to hear your thoughts.

SOLD Impact Titan proof 7 saum barreled action

I put this together a few months ago and decided I don’t really need it. The barrel is a proof prefit 22” 7 saum, sendero profile 8.4 twist. The action is an impact Titan (titanium 737) with full pic rail. The barrel is brand new, I’ve never shot it. Just screwed it onto the action. Weighs 4 lb 4 oz as it sits.

The action has 99 rounds of 300 wsm on it and that’s it. Looks and functions great. The bolt has the standard impact steel knob on it, so it weighs a few ounces more, but that’s easily interchangeable to a lighter knob if wanted.

I have some 6.5 gap 4s brass (6.5 saum) I can include for extra. Neck it up to 7 and you’re good. I also have some 175 gr Berger elite hunters I can add for extra. I won’t sell either of those unless the barreled action sells first.

Any questions let me know!

$2400 shipped from an individual to your ffl. PayPal f&f preferred Or you pay the fees. Can also do Venmo or zelle. Insurance on buyer if wanted.

Trade interest:
Terminus Zeus short Action or barreled action. Open to most short action calibers

Terminus Apollo light action with mag bolt

SOLD Premier Heritage 3-15x50 Tactical Gen 2 XR, Badger USMC rings and ACI. M110 clone optic

Selling the following USMC M110 clone optic set up.

- Premier Heritage 3-15x50 Tactical with Gen 2 XR reticle. Original box and PR caps included, very clean
- Badger USMC marked 21110 rings
- Badger gen 2 ACI

This combo can be seen on many USMC M110’s. The scope is fantastic for it’s age, great glass, tracking and tooless zero. Illumination works, this scope is a tank. This optic is my favorite M110 set up but I’ve moved to something more rare. Asking $2,900 for all or will separate.

Suppressors Next 30 Cal Suppressor?

Hi All,
I'm looking for a second rifle suppressor, preferably 30 cal for both 556 and up to 308 use, with a plan to use for PRS and field matches, and wanted to get the braintrust's recommendations:

My priorities are:
1. Least effect upon accuracy
2. Low back pressure for use on my 556 ar-15
3. Suppression
4. Decreased recoil
5. Size/weight
6. Modular muzzle connection (1.375”-24tpi system)

I currently have a rugged radiant 7.62 and I have a number of their muzzle devices compatible with their proprietary dual taper lock. I often run it in its short configuration with a "muzzle brake front cap" from Liberty Suppressors which just happens to be cross-compatible. Unfortunately, rugged suppressors tend to underperform on the PewScience ratings.

My top considerations in order are:
1. Nomad 30 Ti with E-Brake end cap
2. KGM 30 with APEC system open
3. Liberty Anthem S
4. Rugged Alaska 360 with Liberty muzzle brake front cap
5. AB Suppressor Raptor 8 baffle with 3" reflex
6. Helios QD with vented end cap

+2.4 oz for all suppressor weights for the Rugged Universal Mount adapter.

I excluded TBAC cans and the Area 419 because although they have a great pedigree, they tend to have a $400-700 premium over the competition.

Thanks for your input!

Disney to Lay Off 7000 Employees as CEO Bob Iger Slashes Spending Amid Profitability Crisis

The happiest place on Earth is swimming in a sea of red ink and pink slips.

The Walt Disney Co. is eliminating 7,000 jobs worldwide, or more than 3 percent of its workforce, as CEO Bob Iger aims to slash a stunning $5.5 billion in spending in an attempt to save the once formidable company.

Bob Iger announced the cuts Wednesday during Disney’s first quarter earnings report, saying it was not an easy decision to make. “I have enormous respect and appreciation for the dedication of our employees worldwide,” he said. “While this is necessary to address the challenges we face today, I do not make this decision lightly.”

Bob Iger Outlines New Disney Org Structure, With 7,000 Layoffs Planned https://t.co/Acmn7Xw974
— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 8, 2023

Disney employs around 220,000 people worldwide, meaning the layoffs will impact 3.2 percent of the company. The layoffs are expected to hit U.S. employees the hardest, with the “DMED” team — or Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution — bearing the brunt of the cuts.

DMED encompasses Disney’s streaming initiatives, including the Disney+ streaming service. In November, Disney reported that its streaming services lost a mindboggling $1.5 billion in the fourth quarter alone as the company attempted to spend its way to streaming dominance.

Disney’s layoffs are part of a larger media industry bloodbath that has seen competitors including Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Global, and Netflix slash their headcount in the face of a weak consumer sentiment brought on by runaway inflation and the prospect of a prolonged economy under President Joe Biden.

The layoffs also come after a disastrous 2022 that saw Disney stock plummet 44 percent — its worst year in nearly five decades. Former CEO Bob Chapek was abruptly fired in November on the heels of the last quarterly report.

Disney’s financial woes come as the company increasingly embraces transgenderism, critical race theory, and other forms of woke politics in its entertainment aimed at children.

As Breitbart News reported, the Disney+ streaming channel series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is pushing reparations for slavery, claiming in its latest episode that America was founded on “white supremacy” and “still has not atoned” for its racism.
Last year, the company picked a political fight with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over the state’s Parental Rights in Education Law, which forbids the teaching of sexuality and gender theory to kids in kindergarten through third grade

The disastrous skirmish ended up costing Disney its coveted self-governing status in Orlando.

FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT!!

Gunsmithing Lathe selection

Hey guys looking for a lathe for barrel work. I’m considering a new 1440 grizzly gunsmithing with Dro and it already has a spider built on tail stock. I’m really not wanting to spend that but for the money it seems like the best option and I don’t really know where to look for used. Is there any 12-14x36-28 lathe I should be considering? Not gonna be used every day let’s say one barrel a month.

Selling Stuff for a Gunsmith

Hey guys

Im going to be raising some scratch.

My Friend is CM. He is gunsmith from Gillette, WY and has been a MD for the past 10+ years doing the Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship.

He has never once made a dime on the MD and donated 100% to wounded warriors and other local charities. He is a ex Army Ranger and currently donates his time & money helping wounded vets go on elk hunts in WY when he isnt working in his shop. He has also made and donated no less than 3 rifles that I know about to poeple in need and youngsters

His wife is also one my favorite people and one of the nicest people Ive ever met. These people are truly selfless. They live in a trailer and have nvr hesitated to take the shirt off their back to help a friend.

2 weeks ago Chuck went into surgery to replace a knee. He is 6'6 and 350. The anestheiologost (sp) od'd him and he had no less than 8 stokes. He has 0 to none short term memory and stutters so bad you cant barely understand him. His prognosis is very poor and is expected to get worse...

I hesitate to talk to him right now because I cry every time I get on the phone with him. He is also not taking it well.

They are starting a lawsuit which may bear fruit but in the meantime they dont have any living expenses and it could drag on for who knows how long. If any of you have ever lived pay check to pay check and get put on your back....well you know.

I will be selling off a few items I have laying around.

Any help is appreciated.

post it here and whewn it sells send me the check/paypal/venmo/etc etc

Thanks much love.

Convince me to keep my ACC chassis

Rolling around the idea of switching from my mdt acc to an arc xylo. I have no real complaints about the acc but the xylo seems to draw me in for some reason. I’ve never handled a xylo which makes my decision much harder and that’s why I’m looking for first hand accounts of experience with both and if the switch would be worth it. Current set up in the acc. Also as much as opinions are appreciated I’m really only looking for insight between the acc and the xylo not other stocks or chassis’s.

Lesson Learned and Some Improvisation

I present:

ExhibitA.jpg

Exhibit A (BCM Blem)

ExhibitB.jpg

Exhibit B (ARP CLE 12.5")

ExhibitFC_WWCD.jpg

Exhibits FC and WW,CD (repurposed stick o wood/dowel and unloved Olympic Arms barrel)

So I had the ARP barrel in the freezer for a good 4 days.
I assembled the upper (door removed since) tried to true the receiver face but the Brownells receiver lapping tool wouldn't slide in. Maybe I wasn't using the proper finesse.

Anyway I said fuck it, lets assemble it. That was at about 3:00 AM after being woken up to perform a chore.

After using a heat gun, I failed to get my barrel in (insert That's What She Said joke here). Heated again, finally got it in, but didn't get the pin aligned.

Fuck me.

So I tried hammering with a rubber mallet using the dowel (Exhibit Fail City), while the upper was still a bit toasty, but got nowhere. The dowel had been recommended and successful in non-thermal fitting barrel removal duty, to break the Loctite seal, etc. Trash can under barrel to catch it.

I tried again today, with feeling. Still no luck. I had been contemplating what bar stock or metal I had. Then I remembered the "shot out" Olympic Barrel (Exhibit Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner) that a buddy gave me after he replaced it with a Larue. At first I am like I might need to remove the MD, but no, stupid, thats narrower and you expose the threads to the upper. I double checked and it was seating nicely.

Sure enough after 5 blows it was starting to move and I got it out.

Hot damn. I was able to put that Olympic barrel to a good purpose, and now I have another tool in my arsenal and remove a thermal fitted barrel much quicker in the future.

The ARP barrel is back in the freezer.

I really need to look again and see why the receiver facing tool didn't seat in the upper.
And clean up some splinter debris out of the upper and barrel.
