SOLD Gunwerks Clymr 7SAUM

Gunwerks Clymr chambered in 7SAUM. Stainless action, 20” carbon barrel, trigger tech trigger, 13.75 LOP, Gunwerks hinged floorplate bottom metal, 20 MOA rail. The bare rifle weighs 6lbs 4ozs. Has right about 120 rounds through it and shoots great. Have one box of loaded Gunwerks 7SAUM ammunition with the Berger 168 VLDs. Shoots their factory ammo very very well. Has been on a couple hunts so the stock has some normal signs of wear, but no major scuffs or anything. I have two clymr stocks, one in halo grey and the other in forest green (which is what I bought the rifle with). Willing to sell with either stock. It’s sitting in the forest green stock now.

Also have 418 pieces of Gunwerks 7SAUM brass (about 120 twice fired and the rest is once fired).

Whidden 7SAUM bushing dies and a couple bushings

400 Berger 168 VLD projectiles

I want to sell as a package if I can. If the buyer doesn’t want the reloading components then it will be for sale.

Been a great rifle, just with my current family and hobby situation time to spend reloading is hard to find. And my pockets aren’t deep enough to buy Gunwerks ammo all the time 😂

The rifle itself was $5400 ish when I bought it. Asking $5400 shipped for the gun, the loaded ammo, the components and dies. Or $4500 for just the rifle.

Accept Zelle or PayPal F&F (or add 3% for goods and services).

Large or small semi...

I've been toying with the idea of a "long range" semi-auto, but I'll be honest--not feeling the need to drop serious coin on a GAP or JP to get a 6.5 "done right" Thought maybe I'd do seekins or build my own (which I will most certainly F up). But since this build is mainly for PRS style 1000 yards in-- Is a 223 (aka small frame) a better choice, just suck up the inferior ballistics and spend the extra cash on range time, hookers, reloading supplies, and blow.

I've already got a bunch of long range bolt guns, so if I need the LR itch, I can scratch that with those--but a precision semi-auto, whats the thinking on a small frame 223 or similar if my limit is basically 1k distance. I was even thinking of grabbling my original 20in HBAR and slapping it onto an upper as a stopgap while waiting for a quality barrel.

I would just build an upper for my DPMS, but DPMS uppers+parts compatibility is a PITA--everyone "claims" compatibility, just like everyone "claims" a lot of shit, but in reality, I'd rather have a DPMS upper on my DPMS lower because (A) mine works and (B) the rule of large ARs is match your uppers and lowers (C) DPMS isn't selling DPMS uppers, so is what random interwebs guy selling really DPMS or just "compatible".

I think I just set the record for typing DPMS repeatedly....

San Francisco Bay Area Bans Gas Furnaces and Water Heaters

Regulators in the San Francisco Bay Area voted Wednesday to eliminate the sale and installation of natural gas-powered furnaces and water heaters over eight years beginning in 2027, ostensibly to limit air pollution.
The vote was the latest step taken by left-wing jurisdictions against natural gas — a convenient and relatively clean-burning source of fuel.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported (original links):
Bay Area regulators voted Wednesday to adopt rules to phase out the sale and installation of natural-gas furnaces and water heaters over the next eight years, one of the most ambitious plans in the country to replace gas appliances with electric alternatives.
The rules, approved by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, are meant to reduce air pollution from some of the worst home-appliance offenders. The main pollutants targeted are nitrogen oxides, or NOx, which can cause acid rain and smog as well as increase risk for asthma and other respiratory diseases.
People will be able to repair their gas appliances if they break — but the rules take effect when existing gas-powered furnaces or water heaters no longer work and need to be replaced. New construction will also be required to have zero-NOx — effectively, electric — furnaces and water heaters.
The new policy does not affect gas stoves, but follows a 2020 decision by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to ban the installation of natural gas lines in new buildings. It also comes just weeks after a controversy over a proposal by the Biden administration to consider banning the sale of new gas stoves.
Democrats oppose natural gas, even though its adoption has allowed the U.S. to produce fewer carbon dioxide emissions while growing its economy, because it is still a fossil fuel and is often extracted through fracking.
Elsewhere in Los Angeles, the “Green New Deal” proposed by then-Mayor Eric Garcetti (confirmed Wednesday as U.S. Ambassador to India) seeks to phase out natural gas power plants, despite possible electricity shortages.

I can see it now, "I'm sorry sir but you will have to get your electrical panel upgraded to a 200 amp service to handle the new load for an baseboard heaters in each room and an electric water heater. And by the way, your walls will need to be torn out to allow new wiring to the baseboard heaters and the electric water heater. Oh and by the way, the walls that are torn out will have to be repaired. Here's your estimate for the work...$25,000.00. Of course you understand that you will not have any heat or hot water until the electrical upgrades are completed. When would you like us to start? Tomorrow? Sorry sir we are booked for the next year.

Skip cleaning primer pockets and inside of necks

I'm finding that cleaning primer pockets and inside necks are two steps I am not fond of. I currently tumble with corncob or walnut media but am thinking of switching to stainless chips to help with cleaning primer pockets and inside of necks. The negative I've read is that the inside of the necks are too clean and cause too much friction with the seated bullet, which is obviously a problem.

Those of you who use stainless media, how do you assure you have consistent neck lube with minimal friction? I use imperial dry lube when using mandrels to expand necks. Will this suffice for seating bullets? I've read others use neolube #2 or a paste.

I was hoping to get some feedback from others that use stainless media before going the trial and error route. Thanks.

My do everything rifle

Over the years I’ve often thought what would be MY do everything rifle. A rifle I would grab in most any situation and would Be my first choice if I could only keep one. I decided that for me the ultimate do everything rifle would be a bolt action for reliability, ease of maintenance, weight and accuracy with a short barrel for maneuverability and lighter weight. It would have to be mag fed.

It would have to be short action so I can keep my head on the stock while cycling the bolt. I debated for a long time between 308, 6.5 Creed and 223. These 3 are the most common, so in a SHTF situation (or a Joe Biden is POTUS situation) i might be able to more easily find ammo somewhere. Finally decided 6.5 Creed because it is superior to the other two in most every way. Thinking of building another rifle like this in 223 and my wife and daughters could shoot it.

I settled on a Rem 700 action mostly because of cost, aftermarket parts and all the Remage barrel options. It is blueprinted, has a Holland recoil lug, M16 extractor, PTG bottom metal for AICS mags. Bugholes made me a nice 20” Bartlein 6.5 Creedmoor barrel in a #3B contour which at 20” is 0.830“ diameter. Not too heavy, but just enough meat to provide more consistency than a sporter barrel.

I bought a used Rem LTR stock which is a compact police tactical stock designed for keeping the weight down and balancing well with a short 20” barrel. Even though it has an aluminum bedding block, you can’t always trust them to make 100% contact with receiver and lug surfaces so I lightly glass bedded it with Marine Tex. Put in a TriggerTech Primary set at 2.0#. Installed an adjustable cheek piece.

I painted the stock and barrel myself. Used painters tape on parchment paper to cut out shapes in the GAP Camo style and painted in 3 layers, adding more shapes in between each paint layer.

Topped it with a Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x scope on a 20MOA rail.

Did some initial load development and 10 shot groups under 3/4 MOA were common. Found a couple loads - two different bullets that averaged 0.5-0.6 MOA 10 shot groups.

I plan to get the barrel threaded 5/8-24 soon and add an attachment rail on the forend. If I had it to do over again, I’d probably use a Bighorn or American Rifle Co. action with controlled round feed. If I chose 223, I’d probably go down in barrel contour to a #3. I’d also consider a lightweight Manners stock with an integral adjustable cheek piece. These extras add a lot of cost over what I did though, so in a bang for buck comparison, I highly recommend doing what I did. Used stock, Rem700 action, Bugholes barrel, DIY.
