Night Vision L3 unfilmed WP Pvs-14 *cheap*

Hello Hide,

I have a trade in Pvs-14 up for sale. I’ve checked this unit out and it’s good to go. It’s practically new with very little use on the tube. The customer upgraded to a set of duals is the only reason for selling it.

Warranty:
This unit is used, however I will still offer a full 2 year tube warranty as well as my lifetime build warranty.

Specs:
Tube model: 18um
Resolution: 64lp
SNR: 32.6
PC sensitivity: 2359
EBI: .3
Lum gain: 61k
Halo: .9
FOM: 2086

This tube does have multiple small specs in the image. Nothing big but it is rather trashy, hints the cheaper price. If you’re actually using this they are hardly noticeable. If you’re inspecting white walls at night for a living, this may not be the tube for you. Please see the tube picture closely.

Price:
**$2950 shipped**

Thanks for looking!

How is RCBS in business?

I've had a number of RCBS products over the years and I think I've yet to have one work.

I got a Chargemaster and it was terrible. I returned it and got a replacement. The replacement didn't work. I had that refurbished, because RCBS refused to support it. Big shock, it doesn't work. The zero wanders so it won't auto dispense reliably. It measures to within 1.2 grains as I can have it dispense 28gr, pick it up, put it back down and have it read 26.8 to 29.2gr in a handful of tries. RCBS told me to wipe it with a dryer sheet. It now smells nice.

I got an RCBS Ultrasonic cleaner as a combined christmas and birthday gift from my family. It didn't work, so I returned it for a replacement. That also doesn't work. RCBS won't support it.

I had an RCBS trimmer and the two sides were so off center you could see it with the naked eye. The deburring piece will cut straight through the wall of one side of a case well before it touches the other side. With the plain cutter piece, it'd cut the brass at a 5 degree angle. I ruined a piece of brass and then the unit seized up hard. I returned it immediately. They unseized it, but it's as off center as it was. I threw it and all the $35 bits away.

I got an RCBS #43 shell holder today. It's for WSM brass. It's even marked 43 on the piece. RCBS only lists this one case head for the #43. It won't accept Winchester, Federal, nor Remington WSM brass. I see no burrs. It's just the wrong size for the case.

RCBS imports a bunch of chinese garbage that doesn't work, but if I go online and search for a product to get a job done, half the internet suggests RCBS. There's a steady stream of chargemasters for resale and nobody will admit they're garbage?!

burn rate?

Greetings,
I'm Jim, it's a pleasure I assure you!
When reloading for a shorter barrel (.223/5.56) . . . my 8.5, 10.3, 12.5 would a faster burn rate powder
be better? With the 16-24" barrels would you change the powder based on those
barrel lengths alone? I understand it'a science and am working loads with various powders
and bullet weights (damn that gets expensive) but haven't loaded anything for the pistol
length barrels yet.

Learned a valuable lesson

As the title says, I learned a good lesson yesterday. I tried to zero 5 new rifles and scopes, that is way to many. I am not 20 anymore nor do I have those eyes either.

I started with a 300 Win Mag (8 shots), Sig Cross 308 (to many, over 30), AR10 (7 shots), AR10 (9 shots), Back to the Cross after cool down (10 shots), AR15 (11 shots).

Then a buddy asked me to check his 30-30 took one shot with a way to forward scope mount and said no more on that one.

Had a bad spotter as well so that didn't help the issue. Overall I was out there for 2.5 hours and I still don't feel confident in my Cross for deer season opening this Saturday.

I even ripped off a mag (27) of the 9mm PCC that I built. But I just could not focus to zero that one.

Christmas Tree Reticle..do you use it?

Two buddies and myself have been looking at new scopes, while talking, reticles came up..(this is mainly for 22 comps)..each person has their own preferences of course and by the end of it, we realized that none of us really use the Christmas Tree reticle. It's there but most of the time, your holding 1/4 of plate or plate edge and almost never off the plate..When you get out to the longer stuff where you would be off the plate, your usually dialing instead of holding over..and when you dial, you then have the ability to use the "normal" crosshair for your wind hold..

My point in bringing this up is, getting ready to spend money on a ZCO and I really think I would be happy with a Impact 1..it would give me more "clear area" to spot misses.. but man I would hate to spend that and be wrong..Does anyone else prefer the standard reticle (lack of a better term) over the Christmas Tree Reticle? or am I missing something here? The standard reticle even seems to be quicker for my eye..

Help identify pressure signs. 6.5 Creedmoor with H4350 and 147 grain ELDM

Rifle is a Zermatt Arms TL3, PVA 18inch 1:8 twist barrell. I loaded 3 rounds each with below details:

Load 1: 3 Rounds with 43.4 grain H4350, 147 grain eldm, neck tension 0.004". Achieved MV 2715 fps with 6 SD, 0.5 MOA

Load 2: 3 rounds with 41.4 grain H4350, 147 grain eldm, neck tension 0.004". Achieved MV 2596 fps with 7 SD, 0.3 MOA

Please have a look at attached pictured and let me know if you see any pressure signs. Did not experience any heavy bolt lift. With these results, I am contemplating further reduction in charge weight. But will be great if people can give me some idea on how hot load 2 (41.4 grain) looks like.

thanks for all the help

PS: I am using 0.004" neck tension as this is new brass and I dont have an expander manderal to correct it. In Once fired brass I will correct neck tension to 0.002"

6.5 Creed - 147 grain - is it safe to fire new brass with 0.004 neck tenshio

I just got a new set of lapua brass (6.5c small primer). The shoulder is already perfect for my chamber however the new brass has 0.004 neck tension. I have a match this weekend and no way to expand and then Correct neck tension to 0.002 inch (what most people recommend and I ussually fire). My questions are:

1) is it ok/safe to have a neck tension of 0.004 inch for 6.5c?
2) what effects I should expect at this high a neck tension on MV.

PowderH4350 (43.4 grains).

Thanks for your assistance !

Winter Shooting Gear

Anyone have any recommendations or advice on what to do for winter gear? Shooting my first full season this year and we go year round. I live in KY so my winter is 30ish-50ish but wet. The whole Kuiu setup looks perfect but I’m not at the $1k price range just yet. Closer to $500. How many layers do I need? Base layer and just a warm jacket? PRS is 60-90 seconds of moving followed by 20 minutes of nothing. So I don’t want to be to warm and sweat a lot.
