What’s the point (barking dogs)

So got a couple around here, things are constantly going off like broke car alarm

And it’s the same thing, I mean I get having a dog that will alert, if anything mine has a VERY high threshold before he will make a sound, but having a dog that’s ALWAYS yapping, I don’t see the point, people ain’t constantly waking their house with their pistols every time a leaf falls and the damn dog goes off again, seems like a never ending false alarm

So folks with yapping dogs, what is the appeal? Just too lazy to train the pup, think it scares someone? I’d imagine if it’s annoying to be down the street from it, living in the same house as the yapper must be a hoot

Conservatives React to Biden Calling Them a ‘Threat’ to the Nation: ‘I Go to Work… Pay My Taxes and Don’t Break the Law’

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - SEPTEMBER 01: U.S. President Joe Biden delivers a primetime speech at Independence National Historical Park September 1, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. President Biden spoke on “the continued battle for the Soul of the Nation.” (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Conservatives on social media reacted to President Joe Biden’s recent divisive political speech, in which he referred to “MAGA Republicans” as a “threat” to “the very soul of this nation,” by sarcastically explaining how they are threats to the nation as well.

“I go to work. I work hard. I go to the gym. I hunt. I fish. I spend time with friends and family. I pay my taxes and don’t break the law. I play disc golf. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation,” one Twitter user wrote.

“I’m a registered nurse nearing retirement,” another explained. “I like taking walks and reading mystery novels. I adopted a baby and she’s now an engineering student with a scholarship. I pay my taxes. I don’t break the law. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation.”

“I work hard, garden, cook, bake, spin, knit weave and throw pots. I’ve been married 33 years and have two grown kids. I’ve owned businesses and pay taxes. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation,” a third said.

“I’m paying for both of my kids’ college. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation,” another Twitter user quipped.
“I’m retired LE. I own my home. I believe in God. I believe life begins at conception. I enjoy the outdoors, going to the gym and riding my road bicycle. I also teach people to use firearms safely and responsibly. I am a threat to the very soul of the nation,” another proclaimed.

“I’m a mom, I take care of my sick mother, who can’t live on her own. I love my dogs and I cook ‘real food’ for them twice a day, everyday. I just bought my first house, and I love to decorate and bake goodies for my neighbors. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation,” another echoed.

“I work 40 hrs per week. Watch my grandsons after work while my daughter goes to trade school. Pay taxes. Work part time for a charity. Cook and clean for my grandkids and love my dogs! I am a threat to the very soul if this nation,” another Twitter user wrote.
Another said, “I’m a middle aged mom. I raised two children whom I taught to love Christ and be kind to others. I bake casseroles. I listen to 80’s pop music. I pay my taxes and don’t break the law. I’m also now considered a threat to the soul of the nation.”

“I’m a gay man. I have a black husband. I drop my kids off at school every morning. I play cards with my senior mom. I go to church every Sunday. I have always paid my taxes and work everyday. I vote Republican. I am pro-life. Am I a threat to the soul of this nation?” another asked.

“I go to work. I work two jobs in the school system. I have two dogs and rescue cats. I spend my time with my two granddaughters. I pay my taxes and don’t break the law. I am a threat to the very soul of this nation,” another Twitter user chimed in.
“I’m a 63 yr old single grandmother. I take care of disabled seniors, my 21 yr old blind deaf and dying cat, I don’t drink or do drugs. I spend quality time with my kids/grandkids. I’m a threat to the soul of this very nation,” another tweeted.

On Thursday Biden stood at a podium in front of U.S. marines and ominous red lighting at the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he declared that “MAGA Republicans” and “MAGA forces” are a “threat” to “the very soul of this nation.”

Heavy 223 bullets

Looking for some advise on heavy 223 bullets.
My gun is:
Origin action
Proof prefit

So far I’ve tried:
77gr SMK- it did pretty good
77gr Berger OTM tac- shoots amazing
60gr TMK also shoots amazing
75gr ELDM it doesn’t shoot consistent

I had to chance to shoot out to 1000 yards with it, and it was a blast. The 60gr TMK just couldn’t do the 1000yd mark very well but 800 and in it was a hammer.
So I’m looking for a high BC bullet to help make it to 1000 reliably.

I’m thinking of trying
80gr eldm
80 Berger vld
80.5 full bore
85.5 berger

So which would you all recommend I go with before I waste a bunch of $$$ testing bullets

First bedding job

Hey guys.

I’m building my first bolt action and need some help/insight on my thought processes based on what I’ve read and looked up on YouTube on the bedding of the barreled action. I understand that there’s more than one way to skin a cat and achieve the same results.

I’ve been gathering parts as funds allow, and expect my AG Composites stock to ship this week (I’ve confirmed with them since I know their CNC machine was down for a month).

  • AG Composites Stock
  • Impact 787 action
  • Proof Research pre-fit barrel
  • Hawkins M5 DBM
  • Triggertech Diamond Trigger

So in a lot of research and hours spent on YouTube, here’s my thought process for bedding this thing my first time. I’m pretty confident in my mechanical abilities in which a previous job, I performed the remove and replace of upgraded components on the F-35 ejection seat. I’m open to any/all advice.

  • Receive stock, perform initial fit of components.
  • Disassemble and apply dry erase marker on bottom of action then re-assemble to look where the high spots/rubbing is (Even though I know the inletting is done based on my specs when I ordered the stock.
    • Also apply electrical tape to barrel to ensure that it’s centered on the fore-end.
  • Use dremal and carbide bit to slowly and carefully remove material where action will rest, including some of the rear tang.
  • Use modeling clay (I’ve read that the modeling clay from Brownells is best as it does not dry out and can be re-used multiple times to fill action, bolt and safety recess, trigger mount recess, then use fishing line or dental floss to draw over the modeling clay for a round/smooth finish.
    • Apply some modeling clay “worms” in the fore-end (front and back) to support the barrel while it’s waiting on the bedding to cure.
    • Apply a clay dam in front of recoil lug to make sure bedding doesn’t leak ahead of the lug.
  • Use green frog tape to tape off in front of the recoil lug, and 3M vinyls tape to sides and bottom of recoil lug.
    • Mask off stock also (I know some say not necessary).
  • Wrap electrical tape around studs to ensure action is being inserted in the center of the pillars and that no bedding can seep down into the pillars.
  • Insert studs in action and perform dry run of applying the bedding and the process.
  • Clean action with accetone.
  • Apply two coats of Brownell’s Acra release agent on the action studs, and action.
    • I was gonna use the SC Johnson’s Paste Wax, but they don’t make it anymore, and I’ve read that first timers shouldn’t use it till they’ve done multiple bedding.
  • Mix up the white Marine Tex (more than what is estimated)
    • Once mixed thoroughly with the hardener, add orange mica powder to dye bedding orange (The stock finish is the Bengal Rogue color).
  • Use popsicle sticks to apply bedding to the stock, then prior to bedding, apply a skim layer of bedding to bottom of barreled action prior to inserting into stock.
  • Once inserted, use Q-tips, and popsicle sticks cut flat to remove squeeze out.
  • Wrap surgical tubing around barreled action and remove any further squeeze out.
  • Wait 24 hours (I’ve read that some wait 48 hours and one guy waits 6 days) for bedding to cure.
  • Use vice grips to remove studs from action
  • Pop out barreled action and hand sand or gently drum dremal out bedding from stock as needed.

I’ve seen the youtube videos by Gradous Rifles, but was disappointed that the rifle bedding series wasn’t finished before he passed away. I’ve also seen gavintoobe with ultimate reloader’s video. There’s one video by Long Range Only that seems to be pretty darn good. Out of these main ones I’ve seen, what isn’t explained is how do you pop the barreled action out? Do you rasp on the bottom of the stock with a rubber mallet to creat vibration to pop it out? This part is the main part that I’m not real clear on and want to find out and research it to death before I do this on my own.

Education system sucks

Well here is a encouraging story. On my way home from the range was a bit hungry and thirsty so stopped at this pizza place i usually go to not because the pizza is great but because there are two hotties that work there and they are worth the detour.Anyways I go in and there they are so I place my order and it came out to $11.92. Heres where it gets scary.I hand the hooker wanna be a 20 and she didnt enter the amount in the register so it would give her the change amount and she went blank!! Coulkd not do the change in her fucking head on her own .WTF its basic math even less than basic for Christs sake. So she looks at her co-worker and she is ready to use the i-phone for the change amount and so i say just round it up to $12.00 and just give me the 8.00 change. So now she smiles because she can figure that out now and after checking the goods again I am out. But really WTF do they teach in the schools nowadays. I mean if this is what they are churning out of the public education system we are so screwed.

Where Does the Light Go?

Here's a question for those with the S&W MP-15's and similar guns......what's the best place to put your light? I've had an overly-large side-mounted light with a pressure pad mounted behind/under it, the light was on the front right of the handguard but it stuck out so far it seemed to snag on everything during drills and made the gun feel clubby and unwieldy. So I'm thinking about other options but I'm running out of them. Here's the rifle as it was an hour ago.

I have a cheapo plastic rail I can attach to the sides or bottom of the foregrip, but if I mount the light on the side I have the same problem, and if I mount it underneath my hand has damned little to hang onto, and I like to have my support hand as far forward as possible. There is a small picatinny rail about an inch long on top of the gas block, but the gun is scoped and the light would block a significant portion of the field of view.

I've thought about the O-Light PL Mini as an option, I have a couple of those, and it's the smallest thing I can find that might actually work. But with the height of both the base and the light itself, it still sticks up too far to use on top, and I am running out of options because I don't really know what else is out there to make this gun work with a light. The forend is a Magpul shorty, is there a better forend that would give me more options?

I know AR-15's are just Lego sets, and maybe I don't have the right pieces on hand. But I'm also tired of buying parts that look decent but don't work out in the long run, and get stuffed in a box in the basement, never to see the light of day again.

Any suggestions that will work with an "Optic Ready" MP-15? I'm cheap, but will happily buy what's needed here, the damn gun needs a light!
