Suppressors Glock 19 cycling issue with suppressor. Seeking Advice

Greetings lady’s and gents! Looking for some suggestions..

I picked up my rugged obsidian 9 suppressor today, and headed to the range.

The gun/host:
Glock 19 (slide was sent in to be cut for optic).
NineX19 threaded barrel
Factory internals

After mounting the supressor, I fired the first shot. Slide locked back, past the slide lock position. I could not get the slide to go forward. What I found was, the slide reciprocated so far back, that the barrel caught the slide cuts.

The obsidian 9 has 2 configurations. The full length, and half length. I tried firing some rounds down range with the supressor in the short configuration. Same problem occurred, however I was able to get at least half a mag down range, before the jam.

Note: The gun cycles just fine without the suppressor

I’m thinking the gun may be over gassed? I was speaking with a buddy at the range, he believes that the slides reduced weight (due to the cuts), is causing the gun to cycle extreamly fast/hard, with the added weight, and pressure from the suppressor.

I’m wondering if changing the recoil spring/rod would help?

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m going to attach a few pictures.

Heeheehee! Germany is dismantling a wind farm to make way for a coal mine

Donald Trump is probably getting a chuckle out of this.

Germany’s left-of-center government, like most in Europe, long ago began worshipping at the Church of Climate Change, eschewing cheap, reliable fossil fuels for sketchy, unreliable and imminently more expensive “green renewable” energy sources, mostly wind and solar power.

That said, the country never really weaned itself off of fossil fuels. Rather, in a ridiculous grand scheme of virtue signaling, Germany just decided to buy most of its natural gas and other fossil fuel energy from Russia — a country that the NATO member was supposed to be defending the continent against.

Famously, then-President Donald Trump warned the country during a September 2018 speech at the United Nations, “Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course. Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of expansionist foreign powers.”

At the time, German diplomats in attendance smirked and chuckled at Trump’s prophecy. He has since been proven right — again.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project Germany was building in conjunction with Russia has ceased and Russian gas is not flowing into Germany due to EU sanctions following the invasion. As such, Europe’s biggest economy is on the brink of collapse because it doesn’t have enough alternative or domestic sources of fossil fuels needed to power its industries.

But it now appears that Germany has learned a hard lesson and is coming full-circle on its energy production: The government in Berlin has elected to dismantle a wind farm so that it can open a coal mine, as reported by OilPrice.com.

Simply put, you can’t make this kind of lunacy up:

A wind farm is being dismantled in western Germany to make way for an expansion of an open-pit lignite coal mine in a “paradoxical” situation highlighting the current prioritization of energy security over clean energy in Europe’s biggest economy.

The dismantling of at least one wind turbine at the wind farm close to the German coal mine Garzweiler, operated by energy giant RWE, has already started. RWE says that lignite, or brown coal, has been mined from the Garzweiler coalfields for over 100 years.

RWE also said at the end of September that three of its lignite-fired coal units that were previously on standby would return to the electricity market on schedule in October.

“The three lignite units each have a capacity of 300 megawatts (MW). With their deployment, they contribute to strengthening the security of supply in Germany during the energy crisis and to saving natural gas in electricity generation,” RWE noted last month.

The company plans to expand the lignite mine at Garzweiler after a court in Münster in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia ruled in the energy group’s favor over a land dispute in March in which the firm sought to expand the mine.

In remarks regarding the dismantling of the wind turbine farm to make way for the mine expansion, Guido, Steffen, a spokesman for RWE, told the Guardian: “We realize this comes across as paradoxical. But that is as matters stand.”

More like hypocritical as can be.

Still, earlier this week, the ministry for economic and energy affairs of the state of North-Rhine Westphalia urged RWE to abandon the plan to dismantle the wind farm because even as Germany starves for energy, adherents to the religion of climate change and green energy still don’t get it.

“In the current situation, all potential for the use of renewable energy should be exhausted as much as possible and existing turbines should be in operation for as long as possible,” a spokesperson for the state’s ministry told the Guardian.

How is this not declared an invasion?

Might be a false flag (certainly a red flag), but how was this not met with gunfire from our side?

COVID Tyrants at Left-wing Atlantic Beg for Amnesty

Our COVID oppressors at the far-left Atlantic are now begging for a COVID amnesty in the wake of all their anti-science COVID oppression.

John Nolte1 Nov 2022635

Our COVID oppressors at the far-left Atlantic are now begging for a COVID amnesty in the wake of all their anti-science COVID oppression.
That’s not going to happen.
Ever.
First, never forget the Atlantic is owned by this fascist who did this while you and I weren’t allowed to visit our relatives in hospitals or nursing homes or attend funerals.
Because I’ve needed both, I’m a big fan of forgiveness and second chances. Before that can happen, however, there must first be an admission of wrongdoing, an apology, accountability, and repentance.
We’re seeing nothing even close to that from our COVID oppressors. Instead, all we see is lying and gaslighting. The best example is Dr. Anthony Fauci — the COVID opressor’s tin idol — running around saying, Who me? I didn’t call for lockdowns. I didn’t call for school closures.
The thrust of the dishonest Atlantic piece is pure lies: “We didn’t know” what we didn’t know at the time.
In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!”
The World Health Organization admitted that the very lockdown policies it advocated for have resulted in a rise of mental health issues. https://t.co/o2Zo0li3Dp
— Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) June 17, 2022
These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.
Okay, but here is what you did know on day one…
You did know… The elderly were most at risk, and yet you still flooded nursing homes with infected COVID patients and then aided and abetted the cover up.
You did know… The risk of catching the China Flu was the same in a big box store or a small business. You still closed and bankrupted small businesses.
You did know… Everyday American had to watch their loved ones buried via Zoom, and then you attended the funeral for John Lewis.
You did know… The risk to children was minimal, and you still closed schools and practiced the cruelty of forcing crying and confused toddlers into masks.
You did know… People legally traveling to America were as capable of spreading infection as those illegally entering America. Yet, you still refused to stop illegal immigration.
You did know… That while we were shamed, ridiculed, fined, punished, and bankrupted for not following your fascist rules, that one left-wing COVID oppressor after another — including Fauci, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Muriel Bowser, the United Nations — proved they knew those rules were unnecessary by personally violating them.

You did know… Every gathering came same with the same risk of infection. Yet, you cheered and joined Black Lives Matter and Antifa “gatherings,” while condemning any gathering of Trump supporters or the Faithful.

You did know… You declared liquor stores “necessary” while locking Churches and Synagogues.

You did know… It was as safe to buy vegetables as vegetable seeds. Yet you made seeds off limits.

You did know… It was unconstitutional for anyone outside of state legislatures to alter voting rules. Yet you did so anyway.

You did know… There was zero proof the vaccine stopped the spread of infection or prevented anyone from becoming infected. Yet you lied and said it did to justify firing, fining, ridiculing, harassing, dehumanizing, bullying, and discriminating.

You did know… Every human life is worthy. Yet you still laughed at those of us who died, wished us dead, and threatened violence against us.

No.

There will be no amnesty before there is accountability for the savages who forced our loved ones to die alone.

There will be no forgiveness before there’s a reckoning for the mercenary liars who abused our elderly and children.

There will be no moving on before there’s justice for those who were bankrupted, fined, jailed, mourned alone, forced into lonely despair, and stripped of youth’s magic and irreplaceable moments.

Most of all, there will be no reprieve because you are not sorry; because given the opportunity, you will do it all over again; because you are vicious, heartless, mercenary, politically-driven bullies only asking for amnesty so you can catch us off guard the next time.

Click No Bang With Reloaded Ammo

This past weekend I went to the range to shoot hand loads out of my Bergara B-14 HMR in 308 and 2 out of the 30 rounds didn't go off. I hit both of them twice and neither one detonated on the 2nd strike.

My reloading process is generally:
1. Deprime
2. Anneal
3. Clean in vibratory tumbler for 3 hours
4. Resize in F/L sizing die (Lee F/L sizing die with expander ball removed).
5. Neck size with expander mandrel
6. Trim
7. 1 hour cleaning in vibratory tumbler to remove any case lube and/or metal shavings
8. Prime
9. Add powder
10. Seat bullet

I didn't clean my brass with an ultrasonic cleaner and no moisture/water got into them (I made the ammo about 2 days before shooting it). Below are pictures of the two primers with a primer that successfully detonated for reference. To me it looks like the edges of the two primers have some scorching but they didn't go off all the way. The marks on the back don't look like light strikes to me. They are Remington 9 1/2 Large Rifle primers.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has any idea why this happened. The only thing I have been doing different recently (although I've had several range sessions using this method without incident) was switching from using my Lee F/L sizing die with expander ball to removing the expander ball and using an expander mandrel after running the brass through the F/L sizing die. Could this have perhaps made my brass slightly shorter resulting in more head space and a less solid hit on the brass? I just find it hard to believe that it could be the primers themselves that were to blame.

Best hunting caliber for barrel length 16.5-20"

While I assume that the .308 will be at or near the top of the list, I was curious what most here suggest for calibers best suited (or still having acceptable ballistics) for barrel lengths between 16.5-20" might be? This will be a hunting rifle used mostly here in Texas for everything from whitetail to antelope and even aoudad. I am interested in these shorter barrel lengths because I plan to run a TBAC Ultra7 on the end and I don't want a freaking light saber of gun since it'll see some occasional use in the blind and tree stands. I know I will give up velocity and energy with most calibers when going shorter but I don't foresee this rifle getting use beyond 400-500 yards max. Let me hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Is CNC machining a good thing to get into at my age?

I posted here about a year ago about the current situation I was in at a company. I started a new role at a different company 8 months back, setting up & running CNC press brakes. I like the job a lot actually, and I have progressed pretty good in that amount of time, especially for it being brand new to me. I’m weekend shift Fri., Sat., Sun. 7am-7pm. It’s nice having the 4 day weekends, but it’s tough to get any kind of social activities in being I work while most are off.

I applied at a smaller machine shop right down the road from me last Wednesday after seeing signs up looking for workers. So, I stopped in and submitted a resume and to my surprise the receptionist paged the production supervisor and gave me an interview while he showed me around he shop. They seem like really solid people (foreman and the union guys). The opening is for 2nd shift CNC milling operators.

I explained I have no experience in this craft, my CNC experience is coming from forming sheet metal components, but they must have liked me and seen potential. Most of the work doesn’t look too intimidating, they machine off of extruded aluminum instead of solid stock.

My second interview is with ownership tomorrow, and wanted to ask you guys your opinion. Am I big on working 2nd shift? No. If it were a year or less before I got days, I would work it though. I’d be making $1/hr more if I accept this job. I don’t really hate the company I’m at now, but I don’t really love it either, so I’m just seeing what’s out there and keeping an open mind. At my age (32 years old) I feel like I really need to start settling in on a career and to stop taking ‘jobs’ but I’m not sure what I’d be interested in.

Would you guys pursue the machining gig? Or stay where I’m at for the time being?

I appreciate any and all advice.

Accessories Backpack that leaves hip belt on when removed??

I want a backpack I can remove without removing the waist belt. I want to keep my mags, etc, on my waist belt after the pack is removed. I saw a back a while back that had a tab on the backpack that slid into a space on hip belt for support, but allowed you to easily remove the pack, leaving the belt on.

Anyone know what pack that is??

Thanks
