Returnee

G'day folks.
Long while since I last visited the site.
The main reason for becoming active on the forum again is thanks to a recent purchase of an M82 clone.
After 40yrs permanent service I 'pulled the pin' to begin retirement and more importantly, get back home to my wife & family.
I'm still active Reserve, going on 5yrs now, but at least able to become far more active in my love for firearms & shooting.
My collecting of ex-mils includes a few military sniper clones with the M82 being the most recent.
Looking fwd to learning more from those here.
Regards

The trend of shooting and beating kids with mental disabilities and its modern origins

Way back in a kinder and gentler America, in early 2020- this case shook the nation , a 13 year old highly autistic kid was shot 6 times in the back for walking g away from police - they were not responding to a crime . In 3 years of legal legal wrangling it was decided that this is what qualified immunity was made for and the brave man whom shot a child in the back several times kept his job and had no charges filed against him. The Utah tax payer got hit with paying the family a multimillion dollar settlement and all was good
So organized crime took note and saw that there would be no consequences for shooting or beating mentally handicapped kids or the elderly and now it’s an almost daily occurrence.

Thus concludes today’s lesson .

Firearms 6 creed HNT26/carbon

Rifle has less than 100 rounds, hnt 26 non folder, 2020 action/ 20 inch carbon barrel setup , triggertech diamond flat face, several mags.

Really would like to trade just the action and barrel and get into a 25 creed moor. I can add cash for a more valuable setup! Or i can put the action in a stock for just your barreled action.

OR IF SOMEONE HAS A 25 CREED IN A 700 ACTION PLATFORM I WILL BUY IT. PREFER CARBON BARREL

Remington 40XB KS Varmint Special

This 223 Rem 40XB KS Varmint Special came to me new in the box with every single piece of paper originally shipped with the rifle ranging from Custom Shop Order Tag to the ubiquitous Remington scrap of paper with two groups measured and documented. Even the inspector’s tag came with it.
Bolt numbered to the gun.
My question is, at present the rifle is set up for an externally adjusted scope with a longer than normal base as it uses a block at the rear of the receiver and the standard block mid barrel.
My inclination is to remove the rear block and mount an EGW rail, EGW 30mm rings and a Leupold 6.5-20 50mm scope I have on hand.
I have this set up on a Rem Custom Shop 300SAUM I recently acquired and it works quite well.
I do have a Redfield Palma rear micrometer sight NIB with Remington mounting plate and somewhere a Redfield Big Bore front aperture sight.
Or should I go about finding a period correct external adjusting scope?
I understand H-Lux makes such scopes.
Any suggestions appreciated!
-Richard

Advice for a NEW lefty

With life liking to kick me in the balls repeatedly, I've found that I need to shoot left handed (fun fact--seeing your target 100% would recommend!). As I put together a "budget" rifle is there anything specific to watch for as a left handed shooter. I've noticed options are WAAY more limited, so I am pretty much "stuck" doing a custom action. Is there anything else to watch for-little gotchas as a lefty that trip you up? SInce I have Impacts and AIs, I was considering just sticking with Impact. For budget reasons, possibly an Origin (plus I like the swappable bolt head idea).

Say a prayer for me as well, I was thinking of buying a Savage before I woke up in a cold sweat.

Realearning 40 years of shooting is a PITA, but I've already double/trippled my scores in PRS. Vision was REALLY bad.

SOLD Broughton Barrels

Don’t know much about these, picked them up as part of a lot and don’t need them.

Both 30 cal, I was told top one is 308, set up for a Remington 700. 22” and muzzle is threaded. Bottom one I have no idea what the profile is for, I think maybe M14/M1A heavy barrel but that’s just a guess. 1:10, 5c rifling.

$100 for the chambered/finished broughton, and $200 for the broughton blank
. SOLD

Optics EOTECH CLIPNV 2705 FOM

Mint condition EOTECH CLIPNV. White Phos 2705 FOM. Stunning unit, super bright, works well with LPVO's and MPVO's and will take up to 10-12X magnification. EOTECH has a 10 Year warranty on these units. The paperwork from EOTECH shows this one coming in December 2024 so you have plenty of time left on the warranty.

Selling to put the funds toward a pair of Pano's I have on reserve.

You can read Horta's review here where it stacks up favorably to a L3 CNVD-LR: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/eotech-clipnv-vs-l3-cnvd-lr.7162623/

$7,500 OBO

If you live in NC or nearby I can meet you at Coleman's Creek Training Center for you to inspect the unit and put it to use prior to your decision.
