Turns out I have a Sako 7mm with a M995 action. I havnt used the rifle in years. In my recent research on building a Tikka based rifle for my son it occurs to me that maybe this is a good action. But I don't know. Is this an outdated action or is it worth building a chassis rifle off of?

I just don't get what's up with all the "tools" to do this. Here's my technique that has worked for literally years, and all you need is a carpentry level, a bubble level, and a pencil.

1. Put your rifle in a gun vise and position with a wall several feet behind the butt
2. Use the pencil and carpenter's level to draw a vertical line on the wall
   • If you're doing this in the kitchen or living room ... ask permission first
3. Use the bubble level to level the rifle in the vise ... mount the scope rings or base and tighten to spec
4. Loosely mount the scope on the rifle
5. Point a very bright flashlight through the scope from front to rear - projecting your scope reticle onto the wall behind the butt stock
6. Line up the vertical reticle line of the scope with the vertical line you penciled on the wall
7. Gradually tighten everything down, making sure the rifle stays level and the flashlight reticle projection on the wall stays aligned and vertical

Declare victory and go drink a beer. If you keep the rifle horizontally level, and your pencil line is vertically level, and you keep the reticle and wall lines aligned during ring tightening ... this is fool-proof.

A great guy shared this with me years ago, and it works perfectly every time. The pencil line has been on my wall for years.

I've currently got a Faxon match barrel and it's not shooting as good as I'd hope it would - around 1.2-1.8 MOA with IMI 77gr OTMs. 1.9-3.0 MOA with M193. I'm going to play around with a couple more bullet weights but I'm unsure it'll improve drastically. I'm trying not to fall into my habit of constantly changing my rifle (this would be it's 4th barrel since I first bought it) - but I know exactly what I want - a lightweight, fluted barrel that can shoot consistent MOA with match ammo and 2.0 or better with M193, and while the faxon is lightweight and fairly accurate I want MORE.

I had a Criterion before. It was alright, but their backorders are LONG. So I'm leaning White Oak (Or rainer, etc).

I know it's fun to drag on Faxon, but without bias, would white oak really shoot lights out compared to Faxon's **match** barrels?

Has anyone gotten one yet? Looks like the have a single shot and a repeater version

I am looking to trade for quality 7mm PRC brass. I am specifically looking for ADG, Peterson, or Gunwerks (ADG) brass. I would like to trade for at least 100 pieces or maybe more for I can.
