22 Creedmoor 77gr Sierra TMK aren't making it to the target

Shooting my 22 Creedmoor today in the hot NV desert. I was experiencing terrible, mysterious groups (Oblong holes) and missing shots at 100 yards, but only with Sierra 77gr TMK bullets. Hornady 62-grain ELD-VT bullets shot well. The 85.5gr Bergers did okay. I fireformed some 53gr V-max (22/250) they did fair, but made it to kick up dirt at 300yds.
I never had this problem in the wintertime with these bullets? 8"twist 3,425 FPS. I just bored-scoped the BBL; it needs cleaning, but the Carbon ring was minimal. I was worried that my BBL was shot.

Firearms LMT 14.5

Comes with enhanced bolt/bcg, ergo grip, surefire closed tine war comp, radiant CH. Bought everything new and never shot it. Offloading everything that doesn't get used. Probably wont trade but ill hear offers. One in particular would be a plxc with griffin reticle. $2600

Can come with the nf atacr DM reticle in pics for an additional 1900.

419 Mid Cantilever Question

Currently running the standard 419 mount on the K540, but needed a little more eye relief as I shoot a short LOP.
Received the 419 mid cantilever yesterday, and noticed the cant portion has some flex as that connection has a relatively thin profile.

Should I be at all concerned? I’m guessing not as the 36mm scope body will add rigidity?
Am I over thinking this?

Flame suit on (in case this is perceived as a newb question).

Unlike Honey Bees, Hornets sting, and sting, and sting….

I just had to post up about my New TACOPS Green Hornet. Mike built this hammer for me over the past 6 months. I am just now getting the time to let this baby sting. Integrally Suppressed, and accurate as all get out. This rifle will be great at controlling the local tree rat population.
I brought a selection of ammo out to the range today. I was happy to see that it had no problem holding minute of squirrel head with almost anything that it was fed. I scoped it with a USO MR10 and it seems perfect for the job.
I was really happy with the CX and R50. Checkout the SD on the R50! Yep it is going to be a great little hammer. Since I need to conserve the R50 for comps, I was also very happy to see that the Lapua Center X was holding its own. I was running behind, but I had to try a few at 100 yards. Two sighters and 2.5 mils up and it was printing extraordinarily well. I suspect If I had taken my time, those groups would have tightened up substantially.
I can’t Thank Mike for he’s incredible work on my Hornet. Definitely loving this rifle.

Likely the Earliest Marine Sniper Rifle that still exists, from 1909

I thought you guys might like this one. This rifle has a lot of historical value to the Marine Sniper program. This is likely the earliest Marine Sniper rifle that still exists.

If you are not aware, the first "official" US sniper rifle was the M1908 Warner Swasey. It was adopted in 1908 by Army Ordnance and was made by Springfield Armory starting later that year. The first production run of rifles, past a couple test rifles, were in the 352xxx and 353xxx serial range.

Basically, the whole premise of the Marine Sniper program started when the Marines decided to buy a handful of these first Army sniper rifles in 1909. This is the first time the Marines had tested an "official Sniper rifle" and from this ground work, it lead to the official Sniper program in 1917.

A neat point about this rifle. This is likely not only the earliest Marine Sniper rifle known, but it's also from the very first block of official Army sniper rifles produced. So it really served as the beginning of the sniper program for both branches.

Originally, the mounts for the Warner Swasey sights were staked on the inside of the receiver by Springfield Armory. Once the Warner Swasey sights became outdated, it was common in the era to remove the mounts and make the Snipers into a standard service rifle. Reading Ordnance docs of the time, they stated the staked screws were hard to remove and it was easier to just cut the mount off the receiver and leave the staked screw heads in place.

Even though I have never found the serial list of the 1909 shipment to the Marines, everything I have ever found leads me to firmly believe this was one of them. They would have for sure been in this serial range. I did find this rifle's serial number on a Marine Document from 1929 but it does not detail on the document if the serial is a SA or RIA number. But the odds are highly in favor that it is my rifle after the mount had been removed and it became a standard service rifle.

Looking at the rifle it has likely been rebuilt several times by the Marines, with the last time during WWII. It is a pretty stereotypical early WWII rebuild with a 1942 Sedgley USMC barrel.

Even though all that still exists of the original 1909 Sniper rifle, is the receiver, it's pretty likely the entire Marine Sniper program started here.

So far, this is the only known Marine Model of 1908 Warner Swasey that exists. There is one in the private collection of the Marine museum, but the receiver isn't original so I imagine it was put together for a display.

I feel very honored to be the caretaker of this rifle, and the legacy it left behind. I just wish this one could talk.

Lone peak actions.

So i need help, I purchased 2 lpa actions. 1 long action ti and 1 steel medium both fuzion both full dlc. I had 2 carbon six barrels made and that's where I'm at 1 7prc amd 1 6.5 max. I inquired with a well know Smith to make me a 7 mega barrel for one of the lpa actions and he refused to make a barrel for lpa. He said they are junk. He said for 300 he could make them to their potential, here are the issue he state and I'm just wondering if it's worth him to fix or try to part of ignore what he said. Here you go. Copied and pasted his comments below

Their shit is generally junk if you want benchrest accuracy consistently
1)I don’t do barrels for lone peak arms Too many things need done for a rifle to shoot to its potential. Especially lone peak ignition systems. 80% need fixed
2) they use too weak of springs
3)Firing pins, cocking pieces binding, inadequate firing pin travel. Weak springs. And their actions are one of the most crooked actions on the custom market. I refuse to build on em anymore
4)Horrible cock on close generally also
5)Proper ignition is crucial for consistent benchrest accuracy. Without it the the gun wont shoot light: out. In big magnums I’ve seen hang fires in cold weather w their actions due to ignition. Fix the ignition and it’s cured.
Remachine certain parts $300 to fix em per action.
I don't want to throw him under the bus so I won't name him unless he says I can

Lapua 6.5 144gn Max Range Target

I know a batch of these new lapua bullets arrived in the states about a month ago and sold out real fast. Just wondering if anyone on here was able to scoop some up and have been able to do any testing and have any feeeback; take any bullet measurements and how they are shooting? I’m curious how close they are to the Berger 144’s. I’ve heard they are slightly different in shape/dimensions and have a tighter closed meplat. I’ve always liked lapua bullets. Easily the lapua scenars are the most forgiving and accurate bullets I’ve shot but bc has always been lack luster. The scenar L’s are probably the most consistent uniform bullet I’ve seen for weight and dimension. I’m hoping this new 144 has the same pedigree.
