Anyone compared these two scopes side by side, thoughts, differences?

For 20ish years, i've been a tax stamp collector (around 30), pcc fanatic, amateur 3 gunner and HK/BT fanboy. Been sloppily loading plinking/fast-shooting rounds (progressive loader with powder cop) for mostly 9mm and 45acp for PCC fun.

Wanted to dip my toes in and got a Howa 1500 barreled action, athlon ares etr and a mdt xrs chassis a year ago. Started with a few boxes of 140eldm then eventually started loading 6.5cm with various bullets and charges (single press) paying much more attention to charges and sizes, etc than I am with my plinking reloads.

Decided to dip my toes a bit more, purchased a Zermatt Origin action, 6 dasher Criterion barrel, Cronus glass and am actively looking for a MPA BA Pro or Matrix Pro Chassis (let me know if you have one, SA RH).

I live minutes from a local range that I am a member of called BRI here in houston and am debating on joining some of their long range comps. Excited to try the long range disciplines out and am wondering why it took so long for me to dive into it. Thanks for having me.

After 8 months, a new NRL Light Open Build is a reality. 11.3 lbs as it sits on the tripod. This was/is an experiment. Carbon Fiber vs Heavily Fluted barrel for weight. Only 20 rounds through it, but I think it's a keeper. If there's any interest, I'll post the details. 5 shots bore sighting / 5 shots group 1 = 0.76 MOA. 5 shots Groups 2 and 3 as shown. Jury still out on the Leupy scope. Reticle is a little too fine for my eyes. But we'll play around with it.

Tiger stripe vet tape on the scope decreases dispersion / increases accuracy and precision by 33.45%. Or so I'm told by very reliable sources. And yes, this is a bit of a vanity post.

I have a few Carbon barrel rifles that were...(custom threaded) for the Thunderbeast Brakes for the thread over brake style TBAC suppressors. By this I mean the threads were "timed" so to speak so when I threaded the brake on they were perfectly timed without the use of the crush washers to align the brake. Interestingly, by doing this for whatever reason it has made other 5/8-24 adapters useless. They will thread on about 3 turns and then a hard stop.

So, can you "erase" the current threads on the barrel and rethread to a "standard" 5/8-24? Obviously, can't cut the carbon barrel down.

Trying to find a gunsmith or company that has a 6.5 PRC impact/lone peak carbon prefit barrel(s) in stock and doesn't have 3 month lead time? Any suggestions? My son has a antelope hunt coming up and his barrel is shot.

Not sure how many here are into the old obscure calibers, but if you are you likely have bought something from PPU, be it brass or loaded ammo. It looks like this is all fallout from the Russia Ukraine thing, and Serb made stuff is finding its way to that conflict on the Uke side and Russia has applied pressure to the Serb .gov. Now will this mean that PPU will have to stop selling 7.7 Jap brass and ammo to the US I don't know.

Bottom line there is stuff that as far as I have found only PPU makes, or at least available. So if you are needing 7.5French or 6.5 carcano you might do a little research into this and see if you think you might need to order a bag or two of brass.

So I just got my first tripod and I'm starting to think about putting a spotting scope system together. I've seen a few systems that have LRF/atmospheric and NVG / illuminator together. Would love to see what you guys are running for that (bonus points if it works at night)!

Any discussion around use case for this type of stuff would be great too as I'm just starting down this rabbit hole. I've generally spotted for buddies while on my own rifle but want to learn more as I get into the 1,000+ range (starting a 300 NM build soon).
