Does anyone else seem to have an issue on a die block grub screw not wanting to stay tight? Resulting in a wandering die?
On my sizing die - i have had an issue getting the grub screw to stay tight. I am trying some blue loc-tite now to see if that might assist it.
i did tighten the screw at full up travel with a case in the holder to get it as far 'Up' in the die block threads - and top of die block travel - as possible.
Hoping this works. I have previously striped the hex portion of the grub trying to tighten it more. I'm kinda 'afraid' to use a grub screw other than the supplied brass ones - cause i don't want to damage the die threads with a steel screw. I guess i could always try to find a steel screw with a brass tip or something.

If you found the same - what were your solutions?

What’s recommended for a rifle for kids for deer hunting now? My youngest is signed up for hunter safety and wants to hunt next year. She’s going to be 12. Has shot a 243, will try a 6.5creedmoor. I found her sister a nice youth model Remington 700 243 when she was this age and that rifle shoots very well and works great. Also what would you recommend for a scope? She is possibly interested in shooting prs and nrl hunter with me too. So I was thinking 6creedmoor. I do reload but wasn’t thinking a custom
Was the way to go since she will be new to hunting and I don’t know if she will like competing.

I have a rcbs matchmaster FL (bushing) sizing die. It has a decapping pin with an expander ball threaded into it.

Does anyone actually use that decapping pin/expander? Doesn’t it kind of defeat the purpose of a bushing ? What am I missing? I have just removed it all together.

My process is to use a universal decapping die to pop the primer, tumble, then a FL sizing die (shoulder bump of .002”) with proper bushing size, and then an expander mandrel to open the neck back up.

I am reloading precision ammo for prs, not bulk ammo .

You guys running tuners, do you remove the tuner when you clean your barrel? I have been leery of the thought, and leave mine on.
EC V2, I think by leaving it on, this last cleaning may have bit me in the ass.

I’ve noticed poi shift between shooting barricades and shooting off bipod, so I started looking at monolithic and semi-monolithic uppers which led me to want to try out the aero enhanced upper. I used to run bcm uppers and am very familiar with the thermo fit between the barrel and upper. This aero upper is very loose it’s like it’s oversized. I’ve seen various articles and forums about shimming and also bedding with loctite or jb weld. I’m wondering if there is a company that is making barrels with an oversized barrel extension or if anyone recommends a barrel manufacturer that makes a barrel that would be snug in an aero upper?

I have a 22” Bartlein 6mm ARC AR. It is a rifle +2 gas system. I purchased the barrel and bolt from Precision Machine in WV. I have about 400 rnds through the barrel and get mediocre accuracy. The port fell on a land and it’s giving serious erosion issues. I believe that it is so bad that I am getting bullet deformation. I post here to have some experts give their opinions, maybe I don’t have an issue, please help me decide. I chose 6ARC for a precision auto loader build due to its resemblance to my 6BRN and PPC cartridges. I will post a picture of the build and some development targets shot at 100m. Is anyone aware of a ADM or similar mount to replace the ARMS mount that comes on the PVS 22? I hate the ARMS lever mounts and would love to replace it with a ADM.
