See title. Would have probably had an Anzio by now but my understanding is they lost their FFL for numerous violations. Is anyone else making a comparable mag-fed or single-shot 20mm Vulcan rifle that can be purchased in the USA?

This popped up a few days ago and I realized it hasn't been shared here. L3i just came out with what might be the best deal on a aftermarket barrel for the CZ 457 (At least for NRL and PRS shooters). It is a 24 inch straight 1.180 profile barrel with a match chamber and target crown. They haven't officially said where the blank comes from, but based on the diameter there are only a few options- All of them being top tier barrel manufacturers.

The 1.180 barrel diameter is a huge deal for those looking for optimal balance on their CZ 457. Based on my calculations, the barrel should weigh around 7 lbs giving you an extra 3 lbs up front over a 20.5 inch MTR barrel. This means that almost any chassis or stock you fit this to will require little to no extra weight up front for balance.



They originally priced these at ~$550, but was told by @Thesepaperwings they were able to secure a better deal due to ordering the blanks in a larger batch with the barrels for their new Stinger Action. So the price right now is $329.00 + tax and $6 for shipping. I personally think the value is huge and already placed an order. They didn't say how long this pricing will be available, but it's definitely a good deal.

Obviously no testing data yet, but based on the quality of everything else I've seen/gotten from L3i, I'm confident it'll be great. I'll post results from ammo testing, balance, etc once it comes in.

This is kind of long so it probably won't get much traction. They make some good observations in regards to what are probably the true motives behind the riots.

I have a few questions on trimming and long range shooting. I have an RPR in 300 PRC. I’m using Peterson brass, H1000 with Berger 220g hybrids. I’m very happy with results at 100 yards, but the new brass is a tad long and I’d like to trim it to the length of the current lot I have. The issue is the trimmer I’m using is the “ugly trimmer” and it’s not consistent, like 5-6k variance. I have the Lyman Xpress trimmer, but the collet for 300 PRC has been on back order since Jesus was here. So I’m looking for an affordable replacement until the collet is in stock. I called Lyman and they said July, but that was 3 months ago, and with everything going on I’m sure that time frame will get pushed back again (I was told April in January). Peterson brass in 300 PRC isn’t exactly cheap, so I’d appreciate any suggestions on a temporary trimmer that’s not pilot driven (as it marks up the inside of the neck). Also one that’s not going to break the bank. I don’t mind putting in the work, but I need consistency, and prefer one that’s adjustable. Also, I don’t mind selling my Lyman if there’s a good universal one that will do multiple calibers that’s consistent. My budget isn’t super high, but I’m willing to consider a more expensive one if it’s very consistent.

I went to Austria last year for a pleasure trip in 2024 so I felt obligated to finally buy a Steyr. I aways wanted one, specifically a SSG, but...Today, I picked up one after buying it on Gunbroker, new and hundreds less than retail. It's olive with the ventilated stock. The barrel is medium-heavy with 0.8" muzzle diameter. Trigger pull is under 3 pounds. By feel, there is no creep/slack and breaks clean at what "feels" less than what my tool reads. Interestingly, Steyr recommends first cleaning after 40 rounds. Traditionally, I do the 1, clean, 2 clean, etc. so whether I do 40 remains to be seen. It joins the other range rifles but this one gives me a hunting rig option. Glass decision will made this weekend...Kahles or S&B to keep the Euro theme. Range report to follow (compare with CZ 600 range).
