Rifle Scopes ExpertVoice Nightforce Prices Unmatched?

Are any vendors on the Hide able to come close to ExpertVoice pricing on the Nightforce ATACR F1 series? Specifically looking at 7-35x and 4-16x in mil-XT--though EV doesn't offer the 4-16x which is unfortunate.

Figured I'd go direct to NF for the 4-16x like I had in the past with the emailed price list, but I believe they're having all mil/LE individuals go through EV now?

Looks like the Indictments aren't just for commie pieces of shit.

Looks like the DoJ is getting on with the business of AMERCIA... not parties.

Bolton is about to have a tough time on his hands. But the precedent also means that the potato is just as liable for charges.

L42A1 New Build

I have a Genuine L42A1 in absolute pristine condition. It was unfired when i acquired it ...complete with full CES.
I very much enjoy shooting it but decided to keep the round count very low.

As i enjoyed shooting it so much a "Replica" was in order that could be a day to day shooter. Based on a Savage action with all original componets other than the repro scope mount. A genuine Mk3 No32 is fitted.
The barrel is a special order original profiled ( L42A1) from Lothar Walther ....match grade.

Doing some load development using the Sierra Palma 155 ...so far i am over the moon with the results.... below ... some 3 shot groups at 100yds. Awsome results !!!

Its a challenge using the 3x optics...but all part of the enjoyment..

Help me diagnose popping primers

Rifle is in .223AI. Had approximately 800-900 rounds on it when it started having problems. ARC CDG action. Barrel was chambered by a local smith who does great work, and he used a known good reamer.

Beginning around the 900 round mark, I've starting getting the occasional round that appears to be WAY over pressure. It's deforming the unsupported part of the case and popping the primers. The case is so deformed I have to really work at it to get the bolt back. I've checked everything I can think of that might be a potential cause.

Started with virgin Lapua .223 brass. Fireformed 300 pieces, then started load development.
All bullets (88 ELDM's) from the same box of 3,500
All powder from the same 8# jug of Shooters World Precision (varget copy)
CCI 450 SRM primers, all from two boxes

The barrel has been speeding up steadily since completion of load development. My original load of 24.1 g has sped up almost 200fps in 700 rounds. Accuracy has always been good, shooting into 1/2" consistently. SD's weren't great, but acceptable for my purposes in the high teens.

I had my first popped primer with that original load. Primers were starting to get a little flat, but I didn't think too much of it. I dropped the charge back to 23.2g to get back to my original velocity. It has continued to pop primers, roughly 1 in every 25 shots. The other 24 of 25 fired cases look perfect.

I've checked everything I can think to check:

Powder is being thrown by an auto trickler. I accept charges that are right on or one kernel low. If it's a kernel high, I re-throw. The scale gets recalibrated regularly and has shown no signs of drift.

I measured about 200 bullets for diameter with a micrometer, weight, and base to ogive. No anomalies detected.

Seating depth is consistent to about plus/minus 0.002" Bullets were 0.030" off the lands when I did the original load development. I haven't check for throat erosion, but I'm sure the lands are farther away now.

I've scrubbed the bore and cleaned thoroughly for carbon several times. The borescope shows firecracking where you would expect, but no carbon build-up.

Here's my loading process:
Deprime
Clean the brass in SS pins
Anneal on the AMP annealer
Neck sized for the first two cycles on the brass, went to full length sizing on the 3rd cycle (the one I'm on now)
Charge with powder and seat the bullet.

The switch to full length sizing MIGHT correspond to the start of the problem. I don't track round count well enough know for sure. I'm bumping the shoulder back only 0.001" when full length sizing.

I'm at wits end. Out of desperation I loaded up 15 rounds with Varget, same 23.2 charge and shot them Saturday. Velocity was within 10fps of the Shooter's World Precision load. Slightly less pressure though as the edges of the primers were "rounder", if that's a word. No popped primers. I dunno what else to check and am hoping someone here has a great idea.

S&B 1-8x25 short dot - illumination not working

I have a rare day off tomorrow and was going to the range. I received my new batteries for my S&B 1-8x25 (CR2032) and popped it in. I store without any batteries in the device. I also tested the battery with a voltage meter and working as it should.

My scope has the 11 illumination settings. I get zero illumination at any setting. This was working just fine before putting it in my climate controlled safe. I tried contacting S&B support, but I just missed them. I've searched all over the net for info and came up short.

I'm sure my only hope here will be calling them tomorrow, but thought I would put this out there if anyone had comments or suggestions.

390 grain Hornady A-Tip load development 375 Cheytac

I loaded up 5 each of 124 126 and 128 grains of vv n570 in junk Jamison grass; got 2925, 2975ish and 3015 fps with those all with SD less than 7; accuracy was kind of all over the place in a 1-10 twist Lilja barrel, 35"; pockets were loose to start with, starting to get ejector swipes at the 128 grain load but bolt lift easy.

COAL was 4.350" (IIRC) which is about 20 thousandths off the lands; Fed 215m primer

I then loaded up 5 each of 125, 127, 129 in Bertram brass. The 129 and maybe the 127 grain started opening up the pockets but no hard bolt lift, no bright ejector swipes; accuracy was even worse for this round in a 1-12 twist Bartlein barrel, 35". Like the first 3 shots through a freshly cleaned barrel went in a horizontal line marching to the left by 2 MOA each shot - I have no idea what to make of this. The remainder of the groups were 1.5+ MOA 5-shot groups which is NOT characteristic for this (or the Lilja barrel). Fortunately I had some 350 SMK loads (132 grain vv N570, about 3200 fps) with me that I know shoot lights out with both barrels and ran 3 through the Lilja barrel (all touching, about 3/8" CTC) and 2 through the Bartlein (touching, 1/4" CTC), so I know it's not me flinching and it's not the barrels.

I'm not sure what to do next, but I think I'm going to load some up with RL50 because I have that and it sinks 750 AMAX into one hole with my Lilja 50 BMG barrel.

My other observation is that the loss of 200-250 fps with the 390 gr bullet compared to the 350 SMK at 3200 (132 grains n570) and 352 grain CEB (3220 fps with 134 grains n570) all but wipes out the gains from the improved BC in terms of drop, but leaves it a little edge still for wind drift. I'm inclined to persist because I don't like solids and we're trying to develop a long range deer hunting round.

I have plenty of Peterson brass but intentionally started with less sturdy stock to detect pressure signs earlier. I wager that Peterson will be able to tolerate just shy of 130 grains n570 before it starts to give in to the pressure. I will report more results when available; please also share your own experience and thoughts below. Thanks!
