I ran a savage 22" barrel and pushed 87 vmax's at around 3150 or so. I re barrelled it to a 22" 243AI and I can push the 105's at around 3100-3150. They both worked well for me.

Not to Hijack the thread but I am in a similar boat. I don't care for the high power magnification. I use guns with 5-25 S&B's, never have I shot with my magnification set higher than 16 or 18. I do however appreciate a wide field of view and a lower magnification for hunting coyotes and stuff...
