Addiction. I'm running a 6.5x55AI that I throated a bit longer. 140 RDF's a bit over 3000 fps is easy. Couldn't be happier, Haven't had a chance to take it hunting yet.
I am not familiar with the Winchester actions. But if you have access to a mill, changing the inlet shouldn't be overly difficult. I've built a couple composite stocks from scratch and inlet them with routers in my basement, or preferably with a friend's mill. If it's in the way, make it not in...
I would think LRI could do it for you? However, depending on your skill level and how intricate the action inlet is. I have little doubt it can be done manually with some good wood working tools. I have inlet a few stocks with a router and some custom fixtures. They aren't nearly on the same...
Loved the few weeks I got to spend in Norway a couple of years ago. On the very short list of countries I would move to. Looks like a great place to shoot
Played with one shortly after they were available. Had zero issues with it at all. Keep the instructions close by the first couple times you use it. As Lowlight said, not quite as intuitive as I'd like. Then again neither is the Labradar. However my buddy and I had zero issues at all setting it...
Would like more info on the camera, even a picture. I have a Nikon P900, it does 83X and it works pretty well for this type of thing.... But not that well. Impressive shooting.
After lots of screwing around and being a cheap ass. I came up with a cheap ass approved target stand that requires no welding or any skills really what so ever to build. You need: (all of this is 3/4 black or galvanized pipe from home depot or similar) 4x 4" or 6" length 2x street elbows 2x...
It depends on the animal you are hunting I would imagine. I don't know much about the way deer smell in comparison to dogs. But shy of wearing a sealed plastic bubble suit you will NOT hide your scent from a dog. The best way I've had the way a dog smells described to me is like this. You walk...
I ran a savage 22" barrel and pushed 87 vmax's at around 3150 or so. I re barrelled it to a 22" 243AI and I can push the 105's at around 3100-3150. They both worked well for me.
Not to Hijack the thread but I am in a similar boat. I don't care for the high power magnification. I use guns with 5-25 S&B's, never have I shot with my magnification set higher than 16 or 18. I do however appreciate a wide field of view and a lower magnification for hunting coyotes and stuff...
I am also interested in any reviews. Ive been looking at this and the 1800. I called newcon they said the biggest difference is the inclonometer(sp?) And the speed reading ability. By the soubds of it the lasers are fairly similar. However this being said the person I talked to on the phone...
I didn't find the 243 mil spec brass, I made it. I have a boat load of match 762 brass. Enough of it that I decided it was worth my time to resize it to 260 then to 243 then fire form it. Not really all that time consuming..... The only reason I went with a 22" barrel is so that I could have a...
Im shooting a 22" 243 AI. I'm pushing 105 amax and 107 matrix bullets at 3150 and the 115 berger and 117 matrix at 3050. I am well inside mag length where my throat is set. I should have had the throat stretched out a bit, but oh well. Also I am using mil spec match brass, I know I have given up...
So I've been out hunting coyotes almost every weekend all winter. I didn't get anything until Monday this week and again today. Neither of them were called in. I've only had 2 dogs come to calls, at the same time, and my buddy missed one and we didn't see the other until it was too late...
