You can buy a base with more tilt, but you may run out of adjustment the other way for your zero. You can also buy a new scope that has 34mm tubes which will have more elevation adjustment. Or add a Charlie TARAC.
You can use the air cured stuff to avoid baking, though not as durable. I wouldn't bead blast the carbon, just like you don't bead blast a scope, again but as durable.
Didn't know the barbell style existed. I came up with my own design because I needed a project. I wanted something to push up against to unlock the bolt like a flange, but also have a round knob because I like how they feel.
Re: are carbon fiber cleaning rods solid or hollow? There's also fabric tubing wrapped around a mandrel, but this stuff is a lot more expensive. Pultruded hollow carbon fiber shafts are dirt cheap these days. All this stuff is coming out of China. A 5mm x 30" runs about $2-3.
Re: Homemade Fiberglass Stocks? Wax paper on wood, really? Pam? You gotta be kidding. In all my years working with composites, I have to say, I never heard of anyone using wax paper or pam for mold releases. Wax paper is just about the worst thing you can use to make a mold off of.
Re: Lance Armstrong charged? If you want to figure out who else was doping back then, it's really simple. 2006 TdF started off with a doping scandal and 13 riders DQ. Stage 11, all the riders that should have done well cracked that day. EPO when injected into the skin is pretty much...
Re: IDPA & USPSA tips requested As said before, the key to doing well isn't to shoot as fast as you can. Most of a stage is going from one position to the next. You want to get moving as soon as the last round clears the barrel, but not before. The second you get into the next shooting...
Re: Is there danger in a faster twist? The bullet exploding is due to the centrifugal forces. 3000 fps on a 1:9.35 is a bullet spinning at ~231,000 rpm. That works out to around 508,000 G's at the jacket of the bullet. That's a lot.
Re: Is a 1-4x a waste? Do I need more mag? Any Expert? Put a small red dot on a 45 deg mount and run a scope with whatever power you want on main rail.

Re: Homemade Fiberglass Stocks? As far as finding more information about building with composites, there's actually a wealth of information out there, just not in the gun industries. I work in aerospace and have picked up a lot of info from our composite guy at work. I've also picked up a...
Re: Homemade Fiberglass Stocks? I made one in the past for a M1A. Inletting for a semi-auto is a bitch. Probably the hardest composite project I worked on. There are multiple ways you can go about making a fiberglass stock. You can carve out foam and wrap fiberglass around it. Doesn't...

Re: $100,000 AR Why does he keep saying full titanium AR when it isn't entirely made out of titanium? Unless you start thinning out the wall thickness, a titanium AR that is dimensionally identical to an aluminum AR will weigh more because titanium is denser than aluminum.
