Re: leupold mark 6 3-18 I have shot alot of these scopes. I have had good return to zero after dialing. The team that won the open class at the Ft Benning International match shot this scope and dialed the whole match with no issues.
Re: Good deal on LC M118 LR should I get it??? those cans can get issued opened and reasealed, it can also be a sublot that did not pass LOT acceptance
Re: Good deal on LC M118 LR should I get it??? No more than .70 cents a round. If it has been in decent temp controlled enviroments it should be ok. If 118LR gets subjected to high temp. like a conex overseas etc. The powder degrades and starts picking up alot of pressure. The more or longer...
Re: Surgeon or Templar action? Both are good actions. The intergral recoil lug is a plus for me makes having multiple barrels / calibers alot easier on switching barrels. So I like the surgeon better.
Re: expectations of military snipers(first round hits) There are so many aspects to the question. Most military units do a poor job on manning, managing, training and employing their snipers. Very few have a sniper section. They task guys within the line to dual hat. Send them to school and...
Re: Duty pistol, could use some advice Based off your list the springfield XD, that being said you need to seriously consider Glock. They are very reliable and durable and very easy to replace parts on they are plug and play, no fitting required. The accuracy is good and you will have a hard...
Re: TigerSwan? The high end guys, Brian and other Big BIO draws if they were out teaching it would be well worth you time. I highly doubt they are spending their days on the range. See if you can get a list of the guys teaching not the ones making a guest appearance during the course.
Re: 300 NORMA MAG ? The 300 Norma was shot in the Ft Benning Intl Comp in 2010 with 210 Bergers with Retumbo muzzle velocity of 3200 it won the Open class and Destroyed everyone on the UKD shoot with 10 out of 11 first round hits. It is very forgiving.
Re: 300 NORMA MAG ? Berger 230gr Hybrid Target G1 .743 G7 .380 H1000 85.5 gr Retumbo 87gr 89 degrees 70% Humidity Alt. 100ft Rifle Surgeon XL 27in 1-10 Krieger 5R Accuracy was under a 1/2 MOA with both loads, these were run to est. the high end on pressure I have not chronographed them yet...
Re: 338 norma mag build H110, Ramshot will give you the most temp stability and highest safe velocity and at the ranges you said they will be the most forgiving. R22 gave me the best accuracy at 500m but not the best velocity for the extreme range end. N570 I have not played with enough to say.
Re: 338 norma mag build The .338 Norma would be my pick. It out ran the the Lapua by a half MOA at 500m and 1500m. I have shot alot of both and the worst .338 Norma I shot was a 3/4MOA gun and that was 8 strings of 5 averaged at 500m. I cannot say the same for 338 lapua. The 4 thousands...
