Sounds like a sear engagement issue. First thing- stop shooting the rifle. Second- have someone that's knows what they are doing look at it. No sense in getting seriously injured or killed. Having the rifle fire when you are unlocking a bolt is fail city dude.

You run into problem moving the key mod sections if the barrel is too close. I noticed this when I accidentally left a rail near my barrel shank. Couldn't get it off. Most of mine are #7s and they work great

Yeah- that's gel coat. That would look like ass with the bedding compound. I'm assuming the metal you have is smaller so that fits? I guess you could paint it after but buying a m5 seems like the responsible non half assed moved in this case.
