Watch Out for Scammers!

Looks like JCMUllis2 nailed it. Here is a cut from the OP's msg: You can force the screw in, but in turn, doesn't allow the magazine to be pushed into the magwell. This will result in the action being at a tilt, changing the relationship between the bolt holes in the action and the holes in...
You may be thinking of Dardas. He always included a business card in each box of bullets. He recently retired, produced great bullets. Had I know ahead of time, I would have mortgaged the house to buy a very large supply of his bullets. Frank
A couple days late to the discussion, but wouldn't it be better to take the weight off the end of the muzzle for shooting the groups since it is probably changing the muzzle point at bullet release? If your picking a load by velocity consistency then leave it on, but if your picking a load by...
I'll second the B&D Workmate. One of my 550's (dedicated 45ACP), is bolted to a scrap piece of 2x10 approx 2 1/2 foot long, close to the end. Just enough to the left of press to sit a 500/1000 count box of bullets. The 2x10 is c-clamped(3) to the top of the Workmate's fully closed top with the...
Per my Sinclair Catalog, the 40mm is different pre 2004 and 2004 and newer. The 50 mm shows no year difference, but : gloss black, Matte black and Silver. Hope this helps. Frank
Have you checked the nose of the bolt to make sure it is not hitting the back end of the barrel? You may be hitting the bolt when screwing in the barrel, thus not really tighening up on the go guage. Did not see an answer to question ref having the recoil lug installed. Frank
Commercial ammo is bright and shiney. Military ammo is not bright and shiney. FC is using Lake City (GI type) brass for this M118LR "type" ammo. The SGAmmo site mentions its the best a civilian can get for their military type rifles. It may be as simple as changing the headstamp during a...
How about "74" = July (7th month) 2014 (year ending in 4) ? Marvin, could your ammo have been made in Jan, 2013 hence "13" ? M118SB was a solid tip bullet, not a HP.
Went to SGammo's website and found the following entry for their Federal 175 match ammo --- 7.62x51 Federal Gold Medal Match 175gr Sierra Matchking Ammo. This ammo is a similar load to M118LR in Federal packaging. It is loaded on annealed military brass marked FC with year of Mfg, with crimped...
I've seen and have several 40x-r's(22s) with blued factory barrels. I seem to recall a really low serial # 222 that had a blued barrel. Crown looked like someone used a chisel on it 90 degrees to bore! Recrowning dropped group size by 8 inches. Ended up letting Berger rebarrel fo 6PPC. Could be...
Always figure in the price of a new barrel when buying a used gun unless you know the gun/ower very, very well. In this case you may luck out with some minor polishing or metal rework. Good luck with it.
I don't tell salesmen what I'm doing with stuff. Just pick it up and take it to the register and pay for it. P.S. most salesmen aren't reloading experts.
I have a question for the OP. How did you determine that the barrel is 15"? 15 in barrels require a special license. A permanently attached muzzle device to make it 16 inches or longer does away with the need for the licensing. I suspect you measured the visible part of the barrel and got your...
Split necks on LC and other 223 brass accounts for 95% of the brass that I have thrown in the scape bucket. Loose primer pockets from pickup brass(never know what the previous owner did to it) and high grass account for the other 5%.
