    BLC/2 in AR 15

Have shot a few thousand SS109 bullets loaded over BL-C(2) suprising accuracy was my only issue. Noticed no particular increase in fouling. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2

Is it really worth me moving to Illinois for work?

25-30% is pretty big most likely. Those sort of increases don't come everyday. Where exactly in IL? I haven't lived in IL but I visit atleast once a year. When I lived in Lansing we went to central IL every few months it's not much of a drive at all. Now if you're looking for a place to settle...

    Remington 700 SPS Long Range

That's what I recall as well. I suspect you're right and this model missed the pricepoint that they were trying for. At its price I would hope for something better than the rust prone matte blued finish, maybe parkerized, but then I guess we'd have discounted Police model in a different stock...

    Remington 700 SPS Long Range

I've been checking for them intermittently since I saw the first ad last year. Haven't seen a thing. Wouldn't be surprised if the stock was an issue, probably can't make it hold up at the price point and profit they want. I'd be perfectly content if they just sold it as a barreled action...

    Hot loads in an ar-15

What chamber? What length barrel? Primer flattening is a possible indicator of pressure, sometimes its just soft primers. Longitudinal case neck splits are not a sign of pressure, they are a sign of hardened brass. Grains nor velocity look all that hot for .223Rem. I made a mistake once and...

Opinions on CMMG parts and rifles?

I used one of their LPKs, with their 2-stage trigger. No problems, trigger is unimpressive, better than most mil-spec but still pretty heavy and with a hint of creep, reset is distinct but it might be just a little long, I haven't decided yet.

    Glass bed prep question

New parts can have mold release, machining oil, preservative oil, etc, clean it.

    Rifle Scopes millet scopes ?

I've had mine for three years now, around a thousand rounds of .308 have been fired under it from thirty below to ninety above, it's fallen a couple times, been bumped a lot. The adjustments work, the clicks are inconsistent in feel and sound, have been since new. It's not as bright as my 4500...

    Glass bed prep question

I am in no way affiliated with Longrifles Inc so I cannot speak to motives. What I can tell you is mineral spirits does an excellent job on wax and petro based oils and grease, and requires minimal physical assistance, but it is a pertroleum distillate and may leave trace residue. Most people...

    Glass bed prep question

Your release agent if contaminated may not work as well, or stay where you put it, or whatever the contaminant was may get into the bedding and prevent proper curing. Good wipe down with mineral spirits, acetone, or alcohol generally works for the hobbyist, when paying someone else to do it one...

    Hunting & Fishing Regrettable pictures?

I have some of my Dall sheep, that unfortunately ran an eighth mile or so before succumbing pumping blood from its wounds, mouth and nose, on a white animal to the uninitiated it looks pretty bad. I don't look my best either, but whatever, they're not really for public consumption. I don't take...

Congrats, nice bears you got there. I wish my wife were willing to move back.

    hypothetical survivor question...

If there were hoards of people being stupid, semi. If I were out in the wilderness, either, if this event were long enough to really have to worry about broken/unserviceable parts I suspect ammunition will be getting harder to come by than parts for common rifles.

    Fieldcraft Machete of choice?

Any of you guys with Ontarios purchased them lately? Just curious as I got my 18" this week, it cuts fine after I put an edge on it, but the handle rivets are loose, not the end of the world but disappointing. My dad has one from the 80's it's held up quite well and does the job.

    Hunting & Fishing I need info hunting/fishing in N.C

Lots of deer, problem is finding a place to hunt them, there are quite a few national forest areas that can be hunted and some other public hunting lands, but they'll be a lot of other people around to, none immediately around Greensboro that I know of. There's also turkeys, coyotes, various...

Hunting & Fishing Concealed carry when hunting??

No, I open carry it, unless its raining as my coat happens to cover it, concealed doesn't make any sense to me when I already have a rifle visible. Hey guess what I'm armed. The pistol won't offend anyone that isn't offended by the rifle and its easiest to get to in the open on my hip.

Federal small rifle primer slam fires

If you're not riding the bolt forward there's a couple things I've heard CAN happen from rechambering multiple times, the one I've part way witnessed is the firing pin indent progressively deepening, word is it can creep up into contact with the anvil and without any air gap may not ignite, the...

    Scope movement

Your rings should hold, without lapping. The screws for the caps should be torqued to 15-20in/lbs, crossbolt 40-65in/lbs. All six cap crews on each ring must be torqued incrementally and as evenly as possible. Threadlocker is your choice, you must degrease the threads before use or it won't...

    Gunsmithing Rustoleum instead of Krylon

Yep. It's spray paint, couldn't tell you which colors on which guns are which brand, but some was Rustoleum, it applies easy and wears off with just a little more effort than it took to put on.

    52gr Match Burner

Picked up some of these, they were in stock and on sale. Been looking for some data and coming up dry. Anybody have any starting loads in 223/5.56 preferably using Varget, RE15, BL-C(2), or H335? Thanks.
