Re: Suggest a cheek riser/pad Are you sure that's the right website? http://cheekwelder.com/ Seems like a "stock" site. Are you sure he's still in business?
Re: Suggest a cheek riser/pad Karsten's looks great. Thanks, I may be going with him. Any other suggestions for perhaps a version in leather so I can compare? I've always been a big fan of leather.
I just got the 3/4'' rise one off Cabelas, but unfortunately, my rifle's bolt won't open all the way. I'd like to hear what cheek risers you guys are putting on your rifles.
Re: Tikka T3 Varmint - price - good, great or bad? If that's NIB, that's an amazing deal. Lowest price I've found on a T3 Lite is 545. They usually go fr ~$580. The T3 Varmints are usually ~700. I'd jump on it, be sure to inspect rifle like you would any other rifle though. The price...
Re: what base rifle for a beginner? Another vote for the Tikka T3. If you're not planning on doing a lot of work onto your rifle (truing, new trigger, new action, rebarreling) then definitely a Tikka. The quality of a Tikka out of the box is really incredible. The bolt doesn't just slide...
Just ordered a 3/4'' riser off Cabelas. This one to be exact: http://www.cabelas.com/ammunition-cases-holders-cabelas-leather-cheek-pad-3.shtml It looks great, feels great, but one huge problem. It doesn't fit my stock. The cheek pad interferes with the length of the bolt pull. Can anyone...
Just got my hunting permit this season, and will be my first time going out for deer. I live in GA, but I will also be hunting in Michigan, in November and December. What I'm really looking for, is something that's lightweight enough to wear around in GA (subzero in the winter), but also heavy...
Re: Torque screwdriver recommendation? I got the Fat Wrench off Amazon. It's adjustable up to 80 in/lbs and ships with a factory, handwritten calibration. So far, it's served me very well, 20 in/lbs for adjusting scope rings, 55 in/lbs for the stock. I'd recommend it.
Re: BC Flip up sizes For the record: Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical 3-12x44 11 EYE 33 OBJ I tried the 34 and the recoil would knock it off (.308), 33 is exactly the right size.

Re: How do you like your T3's I think it's the action. It's just so buttery smooth, haven't felt a single rifle out of barrel like that yet. The bolt literally just glides right out.
Re: Forgot to follow "1 shot/1 clean" break in This thread is made of pure win. Both informative, and hilarious. I think I'm going to just shoot the thing, and forget about counting rounds, or cleaning after X amount of rounds. I'll just clean it thoroughly after every range trip. For the...
So far I've shot 20 rounds through the barrel, and just finished reading in mutiple places that people were recommending cleaning the barrel after every shot; for the first 20-25 shots. Will not following this procedure really bite me in the ass later on? I don't want to ruin a perfectly good...
Re: Samplelist.com/SWFA Grading System Wow. Amazing customer service, rarely see anything like that nowadays. I know if I buy a scope, it will be from SWFA.
