I had the same problem. Timney was very helpful and sent me a U-sear and it fixed the problem. Check the firing pin when cocked to see if it extends past the bolt shroud. If it doesn't that's your problem. Good luck.
10 years Leupold was King. Then came FFP and Mill/Mill and they got left behind. There new stuff has now evolved with the market and I'm sure it's very good. But now that we have tasted Schmidt and Bender and Premier it's hard to go back.
The guage is a great tool, but what matters is how it fits in your actual chamber. When setting up my sizing die on a Rem 700 I remove the firing pin and ejector to check when the shoulder actually gets bumped back. I start with the die set long then turn is 1/4 turn at a time until the bolt...
