    What is a good DBM kit for a 700?

    I'm looking for the "best bang for the buck" DBM kit for a Rem 700 short action. I want to install it in an HS Precision 5R stock. I am trying to keep the build cost down as low as possible, but still want a reliable set-up. Any experience or suggestions shared would be greatly appreciated...

    why is .260 ammo so high

    I use the Winchester 7-08 brass. Once through the .260 die and I'm good to go. I get some really tight groups with H4350 and Barnes 127gr LRX.

    Barnes LRX

    My Savage in .260 shoots the 127gr LRX very well with H4350 and Fed match primers. 1.75" 300 yd group. I'd have to check my notes for charge, but they were averaging 2860 fps out of a 22" barrel. I hit a cow elk at 150 yds, the bullet passed right through and she dropped right on the spot. So...

    I have been anxiously awaiting to see some of these in person. My Savage shoots the 130 AccuBonds really well. I have to try the LR's.... So far only the .270 and 7mm have showed up at my local Sportsman's Warehouse.

    I saw a Rem 5R stock for sale for $200. Is that a decent price for one? I have a bone stock SPS varmint that I would like to upgrade.
