Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Who can tell me the big advantages of the AW mags....and what needs to be done for the conversion?

Also, is anyone bedding their Badgers to the AICS stock, not sure if there'd be any advantage or not.

J

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

SoundFX: Very nice, what is the finish?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Jason, there's an OAL advantage to AW mags; and the AICS has to be machined to accept the M2008 so I'm not sure that bedding is a big issue.

Has anyone, like Cactus Systems maybe, figured out a way to get the bolt handle to fit properly in the AICS chassis (or will they all turn out slightly off center)?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Jasonk,

GAP either bedded or epoxied mine in. I haven't really tried to beat the action out yet, but I did whack it a couple times pretty good and it didn't flinch. In my instructions I told them if they felt it would be better to bed it in addition to the milling to go ahead and do so. Not like I need it out of the stock anyway.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Jason, a couple reasons the AW mags are cool.

-They're shorter than an 10rd AICS mag

-They're WAY easier to load. Instead of loading like a single stack pistol mag, they load like an doublestack AR mag.

-They're a little cheaper than a 10rd AICS mag

-Floorplate is welded, so it's less likely to come off or snag on things

Also, I didn't know about the OAL thing until after I got it. I can't remember exactly, but I don't think it has that re-enforcing plate at the front of the mag like an AICS mag.

GAP's black cerakote. Also, yes, my rifle was converted to take AW mags because that's what George G. recommended. Can't wait to take her out!

That looks fantastic! Very nice!

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

That looks very nice. How did you do that?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Thanks. Don't know how I missed that thread. Great work.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

where and how much are these actions? I looked on there web site and did not see them. Are thos AICS stocks regular rem 700 inlet with a little work?

Looks like a custom piece was machined here for the bolt handle? Most of the others had entire sections of the AICS removed. What did you do different? Thats a nice finishing touch that really makes it look "factory"/"OEM"

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I am waiting on Marty at Badger ordinance to get in some more short actions in to have George build me a Valkarie in a 6.5 creedmore.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Can you post some more M2008 in McMillan or Manners stocks?

I'm interested in a build, but not in a AICS.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Could someone do me favor and give me some measurements of the bolt handle. I'm doing a project and would like to know the length of the handle from the bolt to the curve and from the curve to the end of the ball.

Thanks,

Cameron

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

My LA M2008 is sitting at my FFL, can't wait to get it all together, waiting for the Premiere 5-25 to come out.

After seeing these other rigs waiting just got a million times harder.

armada! With a gun like that, you have to make time to hit the range. BTW, dont' forget range report.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Desert HK,

I'm trying. With 2 little kids and birthday parties for their friend's, I'm kind of screwed for a couple of weeks. But I will try to make it to the range soon. Heck, I only live about 2 miles from a local range. That was one of the agreements between my wife and I when we got married.

In fact, the rifle came in on my son's 4th birthday, last Monday. He was helping me that evening with the scope. I'll post my break in shots as soon as I can.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I feel you there with the kids and not being able to shoot, on the 15th our second son was born and on the 29th it was my daughter's 4th birthday, I am sick of parties and visitors.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I'll play. Here are my three.

Urban Flectarn - 6.5x47L
Desert Flectarn - 260 Rem

Congrats on the new born and an early Happy birthday for your daughter's birthday. My son just turned four on yesterday and another birthday party today. Someday, soon I hope, we can hit the range.

HYshooter338, nice rifles. I wish I had gotten on the group buy. Nice triplets!

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics

who did the multi cam on the a-5 stock?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

That is some straight-up Gun Porn you guys! You bastards have single-handily figured-out a way to land me in divorce court, for sure. Thanks for nothing! LOL

For anyone looking to buy Jasonk's stock, don't think twice about it, He's legit. He just sold a buddy of mine a rifle. He made all of the arrangements, responded by phone and email, the deal went as smooth as could be. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him. PM me if you want more info.

Edit: I just realized how old this thread was, and I'm guessing Jason has already sold that stock.....My Bad.

GA Precision did it.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Kentucky, Is that dipped or painted? I thought he was wondering who George uses for dipping. I read on hear somewhere that they use freedomgpaphix. Saw some of there work at the Shot. They do a great job. If it is painting you want done talk to Todd at Manners. He paints most of Georges stuff. Also saw his work at shot. Second to none.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I see a number of the Badger builds with extra barrel setups. How difficult is it to switch barrels out? Can anyone do it or does it usually require a smith to handle that work? Man, those rifles have me drooling.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Looks good Terry! Were you able to mil out the stock for it from a Remmy inleted stock, or did you have one molded for the Badger?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Um we can close this thread now...KMW just spanked up on all the other builds!

Just dont tell me thats an FFP NF on top, that would be way too much change too fast LOL.

Great looking rifle Terry, will this be offered as a Sentinel variant in the future?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I had McMillan pull some of my stocks that were going into inletting and had them run the BO2008 inlet on the top end to see how the rear tang would work out. The very rear of the tang finishes out just a tad high but everything else is 110% perfect with their inletting versus the natural waterline of the stock.

Thanks Anchor. It's always fun doing this. I will occaisionally make a run of something along this line but don't know if I will tag it under the SENTINEL line even though it wears that stock.

Checking out the AW magazine thing.

Best,
Terry

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Terry you better get to work!!! You just thought you were busy before!!! lol

Great looking rifle!! I mean outstanding looking rifle!!!

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Terry wins. That action mates better to the Sentinal stock then the AICS.

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

Terry is going to end up costing me more money.....

The badger action in the sentinel stock is straight up SICK!

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

This is the test target shot with the above rifle. 3 shots. . clean, 3 shots. . clean, 4 shots . . clean.

Digitalphotos4409023.jpg

4th shot on the last group was from a dare. 3 shots were in about 1/4" and a smart ass friend bet I couldn't stick one more in the group. He was correct. All 3 groups were shot with bipod and bag off the dirt with medium mirage so the rifle definitely wants to shoot. Agg for all three was 0.392" center to center. I think it will do just fine when it's not getting yanked apart and cleaned between groups.

Anyway, just wanted to post this to show that this rifle does, in fact, have a hole all the way down the barrel. Are any of the others out there being shot besides Adam's ?

Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics...

I'll post some pics of some targets I shot recently when I get around to taking them off the camera. I got her out to 800 with the 20 inch tube on it, and she did around a 5 inch, 3 shot group twice in a row at 800 yards. At 500, she did just under 2 inches with one group, the other right around 2.5, and at 300, it was barely over 1 inch on a few groups.

I was shooting Nosler 125gr BT @ 3200 FPS FWIW.

Terry, any clue when you might let a Sentinel stock out so I can slap a M2008 in it????

You have some cool guns in your gun store! It's nice to see some high quality customs hanging up instead of the same old boring stuff most other gun stores have.Nice Badger by the way.
