I have been looking around this forum for a while now and I haven't really posted very much BUT I do have an old .22 that I like but my big problem is that its an antique and I was told I can't mount a scope on it without ruining the value of the rifle. I also feel like the gun does not have enough power for me as I would like to start shooting long range and getting into that playing field. Anyways, this is the rifle I was looking at that is going to be within my budget for now.

I was wondering if any of you had any better suggestions? I really want to try to stick with getting a 30-06 and have not seen one for a better price since I have started looking. Also, forgive me if I sound kind of ignorant but I am new to this.
