Time for Roadblocks and Checkpoints?

The governor, in respect to the people, has powers, but no rights.

If you’re going to argue about the proper role of .gov in containing the virus, at least know the rules of play.

People always have rights in respect to any government. States have powers in respect to the people, and rights as the people’s representatives in respect to the federal government. The federal government only has rights in respect to other countries, and limited powers delegated from the states, or from the people.

Therefore, the governor can’t claim the “right to” anything in respect to the people. It’s like the dog taking the master for a walk.

Easy, no?

I think in an emergency, the Governor has the right to seal the state's borders.

Although I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night

I'm just glad everything is going to be back to normal by Easter Sunday so we can all have BBQ's and kids can lick the easter eggs that have been laying in the yard for a few hours. I heard the economy is going to get back to normal and everything is going to be ok.

The government press conference told me so.

That's starting to be newsworthy and citizens are asking in a lot of places. Some medical members are asking, and asking for testing ability to identify antibodies in tested survivor cases, to compare to the January sick. Feeling that the body of evidence will bring about a quicker solution.

Fair enough.

Is somebody with the power to make this happen listening ?
It's all part of a bigger effort to provide masks and ppg to first line care givers,
Ventilators for intensive care expectations,
And reliable test kits and results to gauge hot spots.

We need to see all of that, to restore confidence and reduce panic.

Encourage your representatives to enhance this effort. Please.

This morning I see a story on the news that some dumb ass politicians thought it would be a great idea to stop traffic on I-95 in Florida to check people's papers? And and the fucksticks at the State Police went along with it. They shut down one direction if a major interstate? Didn't anyone in charge that knows what that road is like say....WTF? Are you fucking crazy? Nope they did what they were told! Let that sink in next time you hear the bullshit about them not partaking in anti 2A shit.

Being that you are the resident Einstein in the pandemic. Please explain how the highway patrol is going to determine who has it and who doesn't at a check point.

Stoooopid people don't know that they are Stoopid.
So I will let you in on the fact. You are Stoopid!!
Those fools, why would they possibly want to stop COVID-19 from spreading further?

Really, how daft are you? Apparently....totally.

Law enforcement officers are directing travelers entering Florida on Interstates 10 and 95 to weigh stations. Depending on the route they have arrived by, motorists are then being allowed to proceed on the highway or pulled aside for further screening, the department said in a release Saturday.

While I understand where your coming from, states do have the right to protect their people by closing entry points. If the USA had done this long ago we would be in better shape across the board, as a country in many ways,...

That is true.

This whole travel situation can boiled down to Jocko Willink's philosophy of "Discipline Equals Freedom". If people had the discipline to do what is being asked (stay at home and travel only if necessary), they would have the freedom to travel when required.

But collectively, we have not demonstrated that discipline, and so the hammer is going to come down soon. The state and federal governments have the ability to do whatever the fuck they want through emergency declarations. We coughed up those legal provisions through decades of pants-wetting about commies and drugs and drunk drivers and terrorists, so it's getting a bit late to close that set of barn doors.

And in many areas, a lack of action by government will case misguided (but understandable) attempts by citizens to take control of the situation. All over the US, we've got rural communities with virtually no medical treatment capability to accommodate outsiders. So a few people decide to flee the big city for their backcountry cabins, they bring the virus with them, and suddenly there are a few dozen severe cases and maybe 1-2 ICU beds across three counties. Given the choice between that and taking care of their own, you can understand why a few resourceful individuals will attempt to keep out the foreign invaders. They might drop some trees across the road, or maybe one of them own an excavating company and things get more serious.

Regardless of the details, the general progression is predictable, and in the coming days we'll see authorities taking various actions to head off the inevitable. Most of them will be misguided, and some will be downright malicious.

Just a whispering FYI.
If you have all your stores in one spot you might consider spreading that shit around, just encase. If people you know, don't have home stores an know you do, if/when their kids or they are bad enough, they,... might,... ask first. However I'd not bet my safety or comfort on it.

Coming to a hood near you???

Oh yea.jpg

So what you are saying is that it's okay to come across the border illegally with whatever third world disease, that's been wiped out here, and the government will set you up in a remote city in any part of the country but as a citizen I may not be able to cross a state line to visit family.
Makes perfect sense. When do we put up commercials for this hypocrisy?

Where's the free lawyers and the bleeding hearts for the citizenry? Is chuck Shumer going to shed a tear during a speech on the Senate floor?

I wonder how many fender benders were caused during this stupidity.
Win win. State getting a fee from a citation and the insurance companies get a bonus for rate increases.

Is the Boogalo upon us?
No, it's not. I do have a feeling it will be rather distinctive when it it upon us. Especially with social media being lightning quick at passing information internationally. It wont be a nebulous, unclear thing. Take the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, WWI, etc.... I dont think people were asking "hey, is there some shit going down?"

Edit: buy more ammo

Well, the current pandemic has brought us to THIS rather awkward place...

What the multitude of Trump hating local and state officials do regarding this current crisis will determine if this Boogaflu leads to a boogaloo. After all, it doesn't take that much time to switch from N95's to NODs...

Yeah, the American Revolution was started by a handful of dudes that were finally done with shit. There was no clear line in the sand. The line in the sand moved a dozen times before a few guys put their lives and fortunes on the line to kill people.

It is reported that 3% of the colonists openly rebelled. Don’t interpret that to mean that 3% were ready to go when it started. That was 3% by the end of it, 6 years in. It was a handful of guys at the beginning.

Correct.

The people who voted in the liberals, are the ones to thank for this. I wonder where all those people live in large numbers?

Don’t confuse liberals to mean ‘democrats’. Liberals means Democrats and Republicans. Since the term Liberal has nothing whatsoever to do with the Classical Liberalism, we need to also understand that both sides of the aisle are on the same team. Right and Left don’t refer to a place on the political spectrum. Both sides are Neo-Liberal.
It isn’t about Left against Right. It is about Statism versus Voluntaryism.

How many so called conservatives were screaming at Pelosi because she was slowing down the largest socialist policies ever seen in the US? How many conservatives were praising Trump while he added $6 trillion to the debt, and locked everyone in their homes, and pushed for our military to forcibly quarantine people. How many people berated Massie when he was the ONLY one pushing for everyone to follow their own rules, and discuss this radical bill that just added $64,000 in debt to a household of 4.

Republicans and Democrats are authoritarians. Call them socialists if you want. Don’t confuse them for giving a shit about human rights or what the concept of America means.

There are more liberals in this country than anything else. If you talk to people long enough they will out their self's at some point, just like closet tyrants. Some that think they Live in the middle ground, are mostly liberal leaning of the closet type. It's only when shit gets real does the truth come out,...

Easier to push people around, than confronting people who you know are not going with the program, unless it's a 10-1 ratio. Uncle had to learn that over an over across the ponds much more than once. Then one day he decided you can't fight none rule players while playing by your own rules. Once the MIC grasp this the rule book grew an grew. However every once in awhile the rule book does not apply, only then does the gig come off costing nothing but pocket change.
Stand by,... there will be those along shortly to explain why we always need to play by the rules,...after all we like to think we are above our enemy,...when in reality most of the time we made, trained, equipped, them in the first place. Facts are a bitch to contend with, but especially when they don't favor one side outlook,...

Roadblocks and Checkpoints have been common thoughout the history of this country.

I'll give you some examples;

- Area's desimated by natural disasters i.e. blizzards, forest fires floods, etc, and where they only allow residents through. Has anyone called foul about those?

- DUI checkpoints. They stop you, and can you imagine what would happen if you didn't roll down your window to converse with LE? This may have been challenged, and will continue to be challenged, not sure if it has ever been seccesfully challenged?

- New Mexico, it has happened to me often traveling through New Mexico. DUI checkpoints on the Interstate. They stop you (and everyone), ask for license and registration. Funny thing, it's always in the late afternoon. Then there's the checkpoints during hunting season, same as DUI checkpoints, everyone is stopped and ask for DL and Reg., regardless if your hunting or not. They say they have the right to search vehicles for illegally taken game. 4th Admendent Rights and Probable Cause not recognized in NM? Has this ever been challenged?
Game check points in some states are off the road and only those hunting with game need stop, all others continue as if they're not even there.
But what do they do with all the illegals when asking for papers, isn't that a racist, illegal hating thing to do?? lol

Ask Sheriff Joe.

I think the comparison to a natural disaster "decimating" is funny, only in that "decimating" means reducing by one tenth, and the person trying to convince us of their intelligence is using it to mean "devastated."

Hey now...?
I'm all for Sheriff Joe. What sucks is the bleeding heart liberal judges crying racism and profiling. If your looking for illegal aliens are you going to stop a white guy? Fucking retards.

Apparently in LA it seems there are never any ****** around when crimes go down but throw a birthday party and suddenly there are a whole army of ****** to shut it down.
I was just reading that the board of supervisors in LA county just outed and fired the sheriff for NOT keeping the gun stores closed.
