Rifle Scopes What would be the best scope for an AR-15

where cost is no object?

Here are the requirements I got:
1. Not too long, I hate scopes longer than 13"
2. Not too heavy. There are lots of great glass but a 2lb+ scope is not conducive to a long range target/assault AR.
3. Good magnification range. I'm looking for something with magification over 10x with preferably with good low magnification (like under 3x)
4. Great glass...the greater the better
5. Good elevation range, preferably 70MOA+

Right now I'm leaning towards the March Tactical 2.5-25X42. Are there other great pieces of glass that meet my specs?

Another "the best" post. Who really knows what "the best" really is???

But based on your spec's:

Schmidt and Bender 3-12x42mm PMII
US Optics SN3 1.8-10
US OPtics SN3 3.2x17
Nightforce 2.5-10x32mm
Nightforce 3.5-15x50mm F1
IOR 2.5-10x42mm
IOR 3-18x42mm
IOR 3-18x50mm
Leupold 4.5-14x40mm


And that's just for starters. Surely you can find something in the above list, that's not too long, and not too heavy, and will deplete your bank account faster than a floozy...

I put a Leupold 6.5-20x40 Vari X III EFR on my Colt 6600 HBAR and have been very happy with it.

Put 2 ACOGS in a row for 16x. Just kidding.

If you want to save some coin, have you checked out the Vortex Viper PST scopes coming out soon?

Err... read #3 too fast. Under 3x but over 10x... USO??
