AZ v George Alan Kelly

This is the gentleman charged in AZ with murder after reporting a dead body on his property last year. The body belonged to a Mexican national who was trespassing across Kelly’s property along with a group of individuals. Kelly called the cops after he heard a shot. He also fired warning shots over the group’s heads from 115 yards away. A bunch of leos responded and combed his property but did not find the anything. Kelly‘s dogs found the body with a bullet hole in it later that evening. Kelly called the cops again. They gladly responded to arrest him. Anywho, Kelly’ trial started yesterday. His lawyer seems on top of things.

I watched the opening statements. Seems like he is being railroaded. There are a lot of lessons to be learned here:

Long-Range Optic for H&K MR308

1711125315657.png

Hello everyone,

I'm currently in the market for my first long-range optic and would love to get some input from this knowledgeable community. I'm based in Europe and have narrowed down my choices to three scopes that are at least some what similarly priced here. My rifle is an 16 in. H&K MR308.

The contenders are:

  1. Steiner M7Xi 2.9-20x50 with MSR-2 Reticle (2562 €)
  2. Nightforce NX8 – 2.5-20x50mm F1 with Mil XT Reticle (2284 €)
  3. Schmidt & Bender 3-20x50 PM II Ultra Short with MSR2 Reticle (2899 €)
My primary use will be medium to long-range shooting (300m - 1000m), and I'm looking for something that offers great clarity, reliability, and ease of use. Given that they are similarly priced, I'm more interested in their performance, durability, and any personal experiences you might have with these models.

Factors like low-light performance, reticle design, turret quality, and overall build quality are essential to me. If any of you have experience with these scopes, particularly on an H&K MR308 or any 308 gas gun, your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, if there are any other models I should consider within this price range, I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Why can NO ONE call 6BR the same thing???

I am getting more than a little frustrated.

I have a Nosler book.....it has 6BR Remington & 6mm Remington listed as two different things. So clearly they are diff. But it's loadings only go to 80gr bullets.

I bought the new Hodgden "Reloading Manual" which is really just a half assed magazine (but to be honest for 12 bucks I thought it was too good to be true to get an actual book for that price) and hodgdon's "reloading manual doesn't even list 6BR at all, not remington or norma.

So I went to Hodgdon's site......for an hour it's has been loading the page (refreshed a bunch or times).

But I ordered RCBS Dies and found out afterwards they were remington not norma. So I ordered Redding....they show up and say remington on the box (which I learned in another thread anyway. But it turns out they are the same.

Why can't people just pick ONE freaking name and be done?

I have read what other people use for loads but I would rather look in a book and start there.....I guess these teenie boppers are just heck bent on killing paper books. Next I bet they will want us to pay to stream reloading data.

So does anyone know of an actual reference material to see load data for 6BR?

I have some Berger 105s to try out and no where to find data.

Firearms 6.5 creedmoor Carbon

I had a friend on here list this gun for me, but i have since created a profile for myself to try it out. I have a like brand new Tikka t3x action, a Proof Carbon sendero contour 6.5 creed at 22" threaded 5/8x24 with protector, spiral fluted bolt, area 419 20 MOA rail, a Bell & Carlson stock that has been inletted for the CTR bottom metal, and one CTR mag. Also i have added a arca rail for my tripod. I have been shooting 100 grain varminters at 3270 fps with 1/2 inch groups with great success. It shoots tight anything 95 and up.

I am located in South Georgia. Can meet locally or ship with tracking.

1550$ or trade. Trade interest include, AR pistols, SBR style setups, chasis bolt guns (sig cross etc) , no pistols or shotguns. I do a lot of predator and hog hunting. Really would like a small frame ar with folding stock etc.

Who runs a chest rig? What do you use?

Wondering from those who run a chest rig for their AR’s, either 5.56 or 7.62, what do you wear and what do you carry with it?

I’m just getting back into rifle shooting after some time away and am putting together a chest rig for my general purpose 5.56 AR currently. I was looking for something low profile and not a lot of weight.

I went with the ATS Tactical Gear Low Profile 5.56 Chest Harness. I was fortunate to find one new from someone for $85, they’re priced at $129.99 on ATS’ website. Plan on using it for training courses and to carry ammo, range finder, and maybe a few other light items while hunting hogs and coyotes. If I like this rig, I’ll consider ATS’ 7.62 version to support my other rifle.

Look forward to hearing and seeing what you use and carry.

Accessories Arc’teryx LEAF Assault Pack 30 Black - NEW w/ Tags - $28,644.38

So… I thought I wanted this and paid a small fortune for it, but it’s a little small for my needs and I’ve replaced it with the same pack in 45L, and all is well again.

Never worn. Never used. Never packed.

I know $28K is WAY under market price, which will lead many to think this is a scam — I mean, afterall these typically sell for more than a Ferrari Enzo — but I assure you this is a legit LEAF pack worn by High Speed Kool Kids that pathetic losers like you will never be able to touch, much less actually OWN!

But here’s your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experiece what it’s like to be a Man-god — adored by women, worshipped by men.

I anticipate a vicious bidding war will soon erupt, as one of these recently sold at Sotheby’s to Jeff Bezos for $1.33 million, and the tags weren’t even attached!

Anywho, the first dude to wire me $30K gets it, but you’ll need to charter me a BBJ to deliver it in-person, ‘cuz I ain’t trusting this gem to any courier service, as it’s sure to get stolen en route.

But wait! There’s more! If you pay with Venmo or CashApp, I’ll knock the price down to $450 shipped, or if you have a stash of .300BLK subs I’ll trade.

Tags. I got tags.

Billards players, is this room layout reasonable for a table?

Figured we might have some billards players on the Hide. I'm buying a new house with a finished basement and I'd like to put a table in the basement. The basement recreation room is 33'x17' and the table is an 8'. Table would be basically centered in the room.

I'd also like to put a TV on the far/left wall and a couch or love seat. I figure if needed, I could move the couch a bit closer to the wall when the table is in use, but ideally I'd like people to be able to sit and watch TV while someone else is playing.

Based on the floor plan and my shitty dry-erase board sketch, is this a viable plan?
