6.5 vs 6 CM for son's range gun

Realized I have a 2012 vintage Remington 700 (xcr lr tac) sitting in my safe along with an extra TT diamond and a spare manners T4a. My son (high school) enjoys shooting with me but dislikes shooting my 308 Impact as he finds the recoil to be excessive. He is extremely fit but fairly lean, so I am thinking of sending the Remington barreled action down to Bugholes for a trueing and re-barrel with an M24 Bartlein. This would be a range/entry level match gun. Right now I am bouncing between the 6.5 and 6 mm CM. I have heard the 6 is more shoulder friendly, but concerned I am giving up anything by not going to the 6.5. Right now we will be using factory ammo. For a scope he will get one of my ATACR 7-35s (F2 as he prefers it at this point), but i do have a spare ZCO 527 for when he becomes more comfortable with f1.
So the question is which cartridge would you move forward with? Thanks

Chassis Convert

First time considering a chassis build and coming from a Manners PRS1. I’m looking for a rock solid tactical chassis that has some comp possibility, but field use is the priority.

Needs to be a folder, rock solid lockup, stability, and repeatability. Top notch finish and durability with ability to mount NV.

Build is based around a Terminus Zeus QC.

Currently considering:

- Cadex Lite Competition
- MDT ESS
- AI AX AICS
- AI AXSR
- JP APAC

Not considering price or lead time, what do you recommend and why?

Breaking: US Supreme Court says BP agents can cut the razor wire in Texas.

In a 5-4 decision, the mostly treasonous Supreme Court says the treasonous BP can remove the razor wire and floating barriers to allow the illegal alien invasion to resume in Texas.

Your move Abbott.

RAZOR LHT issues?

I fear I am having a zero retention issue on the windage on a 3-15LHT. Took it on an elk trip late season over Xmas and it seemed to lose zero after a bumpy off-road ride in a case.

I had to rezero in the field at altitude and in 0 degree weather and struggled to get a consistent result. The shift was entirely wind age.

The well documented mushy clicks did not seem to track evenly. I'd make an adjustment, fire and find not enough movement of POI. Until suddenly I'd get a giant point shift and have to come back.

I suppose it could have been gloved fingers, frozen grease etc., but just curious if others have had similar issues. I desperately want to love this thing but I'm not sure if I can trust it now.

Known issue, operator error? 🤷. What does the forum think?

LIL HELP PLEASE.... ; )

Hello, my name is LOVE I honestly don't even know what the heck I am doing here, well, I bought a rifle today from a friend that was trying to make some money for shelter and I wanted to help her so I purchased it. I know nothing about rifles or guns period. I know that If I had a choice to purchase one, I would without any hesitation buy myself a 38. special revolver snuff nosed, double action with hammer , and preferably chrome or shiny with or without woodenhandl....anyway that is NOT at all important and I will get to the point, or explain why I am disturbing you at this late hour. I decided to ask, becauseI have been literally all over the internet, have searched just about on every site, I even reached out to Gun shops and shooting range facilities, gun collector sites and even Pawn Shops but still got no answers. Please accept my most sincere apologies for my random and so unclear approach, my intentions are not at all to bother you or disturb you in any way, with that being said all you have to do is lmk I understand this is weird., ill eff off fr..lol 😂 I really would just like to ask if any one may possibly be able to help me identify or figure out what kind of Rifle this might be. It has absolutely No label, or manufacturer logo or stamp. I found the numbers (M615) on the side of the receiver, I have scrubbed the crap outta the Recoil Pad just to see if I could get any info off that but Nope,... It was basically just Jostam Anti-fling Recoil Pad with a date of October and year is unknown. it has a Simmons scope that reads (3x9x32) Model #1010 From what Ican see. other than that There is NOTHING else! Can you please tell me if any of this sounds familiar to you in any way, or perhaps by seeing the pictures I sent you , you may notice some kind of smiliarity to another rifle?? I thought it may be a Mossberg or a Winchester, My friend , she thinks she heard some dude say it was a Remmington 30-06 , I dont really think so, But then again what the hell do i know?? I want you to know I really do appreciate your attention and if you actually took the time to read this...it ius immensely and greatly appreciated sir. I will be stuck on here and will NOT move from here until I figure this shit out!! I hope to hear back from someone...., But if I don't, any info, resource, lead or direction towards someone else who might be able to help even a little, would be awesome and super cool of you. Thank You Once again and God bless!!

Reactions: Aftermath

An Ohio official was arrested for speaking at her own meeting. Her rights were violated, judge says.

An Ohio elected official’s constitutional rights were violated when her colleagues on a county board of commissioners had her arrested for criticizing the sheriff during a public meeting, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

Niki Frenchko, the lone Republican on the three-member Trumbull County Board of Commissioners, was placed in handcuffs by sheriff’s deputies at the commissioners’ meeting on July 7, 2022, and charged under an Ohio law that makes it a misdemeanor to “prevent or disrupt a lawful meeting.” The law prohibits obstructive conduct or speech that “outrages the sensibilities of the group.” The charge was later dropped,

Frenchko — who livestreamed her arrest on Facebook — subsequently filed a federal civil rights lawsuit, saying she was ordered to leave the meeting and placed under arrest for exercising her First Amendment right to free speech, and that the sheriff’s department lacked probable cause to charge her.

U.S. District Judge J. Philip Calabrese agreed.

“Here in America, we do not arrest our political opponents,” the judge wrote. “This case tests that longstanding norm as well as our Constitution’s robust protections for free speech that allow us to criticize our representatives and public officials.”

Calabrese ruled that the sheriff, two deputies, and both county commissioners named in the suit — one of whom has since left the board — are personally liable for damages. A hearing on damages will be scheduled later.

The judge expressed misgivings about the state law itself but declined to strike it down, as Frenchko had sought.

“If they’re going to do this to me in broad daylight at a public meeting, I had a duty to take them to task so they can’t do it to someone else,” Frenchko, who is running for reelection this year, told The Associated Press. “It’s so off the mark of what America should be.”

Messages were left for Sheriff Paul Monroe and current Commissioner Mauro Cantalamessa, both of whom were named as defendants. An email was sent to their lawyer seeking comment. An appeal was expected.

The Ohio case echoes other recent instances in which elected officials have been punished over speech.

In Montana, Republicans silenced transgender lawmaker Zooey Zephry last year after she refused to apologize for telling colleagues who supported a ban on gender-affirming care that they would have blood on their hands. In Tennessee, Republicans expelled Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, two young Black Democratic lawmakers who have since been reappointed and reelected, for breaking procedural rules during a gun control protest on the House floor.

Frenchko took office in 2021 as the first GOP commissioner of Trumbull County in nearly three decades, quickly developing a reputation as a “dissenting and often unwelcome voice” on the board, the judge noted. Commissioners’ meetings became notoriously contentious, with disagreements over policy frequently veering into personal invective.

It was against that backdrop that Frenchko, Cantalamessa and since-retired Commissioner Frank Fuda began bickering over Frenchko’s criticism of Sheriff Monroe after an inmate death at the Trumbull County Jail.

At one point, Cantalamessa told Frenchko: “You are talking about the chief law enforcement officer in Trumbull County; it’s unacceptable,” according to a transcript cited by the judge. Fuda then called for a sergeant in the back of the room, telling Frenchko, “You got a choice, you wanna apologize to the Sheriff, fine; if you don’t, we’re going to move on.”

Frenchko plowed on. That’s when a sergeant went up to the dais, pulled Frenchko’s chair back and ordered her to stand up and leave the meeting. She was put in handcuffs outside of the meeting room.

Calabrese, in Tuesday’s ruling, said the evidence showed that Frencko’s “speech caused her arrest.”

The defendants are not entitled to immunity from damages, he wrote, because the law has “long recognized that any reasonable official would know that the First Amendment does not countenance the arrest of a person for engaging in protected speech.”

One of Frenchko’s attorneys, David John Betras, a former Democratic Party chairman of a neighboring county in northeastern Ohio, said he represented the Republican official in court because the case has “nothing to do with politics.”

“We can’t arrest each other because you disagree with them politically. Once you start down that slope, it’s bad news for all of us,” Betras said. “Who arrests someone for disturbing their own meeting?”

The criminal charge against Frenchko was dropped several weeks after her arrest
