Questions on private-firearms-policy coverage..

I hope someone can answer my question(s); they're all related to what "COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE SERVICE" calls 'away from premises' loss... I'd like to know if the loss of a handgun is covered under the following conditions:

1) If I'm legally carrying a handgun (w/ a Florida CCW) and have to go into a hospital emergency room and the gun is taken from me (or if I surrender it to hospital staff) and subsequently lost or stolen, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

2) If it's confiscated by law enforcement and lost or stolen from their possession, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

3) If it falls out of my holster while I'm on a boat and lost at sea, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

I've just signed up for their policy, and would like to know if any of the readers here have any experience with any of the three scenarios I've cited. I asked the COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE SERVICE agent, but she said, "each case is individual" and was pretty foggy about how the first two scenes would be handled. I thought of the holster-in-the-boat example after I'd hung up.

Thanks, Guys!

Aggies in Stillwater culture shocking everyone!!!

For those that don't know, FH stands for Farm House, the fraternity's yard it was in. There is another ag fraternity two blocks away known to have more fun. A natural ongoing rivalry.
More than likely the cow was already dead. No blood at cut. Cut was low, but probably performed to let pressure off from being dead and gassed up.
Animal House was probably not a good introduction video for pledges to watch.
I think it is hilarious, but the world will be offended.
Glad my kids are not in that other fraternity because I actually encouraged them to look into it.

Getting Started with a Wind Meter

Reading the wind is one of the bedrock skills of long-range shooting. It, along with range estimation and good firing technique, make up the foundation of long-range precision shooting, the base upon which nearly all advanced skills build.

In days past, making wind calls was as much art as skill, and it could only be learned by doing it. You made a guess, fired a shot, watched where it hit, and used that information to correct your estimate—rinse and repeat, until your guesses become consistent.

Luckily for modern shooters, we now have tools available to us that make this process quite a bit easier, although there is still a bit of a learning curve. A good wind meter takes much of the guesswork out of your wind calls and provides you with the information you need to true your ballistic calculator, hold for wind properly, and land more hits.

Mark Kelly Whips Up Fear of ‘Gas-Operated’ AR-15s: Here’s Why that Doesn’t Mean Anything

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is pushing a ban on AR-15s by focusing on their gas operation system approximately 64 years after the gun’s design included such a system.

Breitbart News reported that Sen. Angus King (I-ME) and a group of Senate Democrats, including Kelly, introduced an AR-15 ban early Thursday. In so doing, they used new catchphrases such as “lethal capacity weapons” and “gas-operated semiautomatic.”

Later Thursday, Kelly posted a video on X in which he continued to emphasize the new catchphrases by explaining that this latest attempt to ban AR-15s and similar rifles “focuses on the lethality of their internal mechanisms.”

He described the proposed ban as a “renewed effort” and explained that the firearms he wants to ban are “semiautomatic, gas-operated rifles.” He did not mention that the gas operation of an AR-15 is nothing new. In fact, it is about 64 years old if we date it back to 1959, when Colt acquired the license to manufacture the rifle.

By design, an AR uses gas emitted from a spent round, directing the gas to the bolt carrier group to reset it, at which time another round is chambered and ready to be fired with the next trigger pull. Non-gas-operated semiautomatics operate off recoil, with the action of the gun, such as a 9mm pistol, cycling as a result of the energy pushed backward during the process of firing a round.

Using the “gas operated” designation for an AR-15 does not change the fact that an AR-15 is a semiautomatic firearm that shoots one round–and one round only–per trigger pull.

Moreover, designating a gun ban as a prohibition against “semiautomatic, gas-operated rifles” just means it is a ban targeting the same guns all other “assault weapons” bans have targeted.

2A News Update: SCOTUS Justice Barrett considers hearing IL AWB case, requests immediate briefing

Case in question is Bevis v Naperville, IL which originally was filed against the City of Naperville and their local firearm & magazine ban, then expanded to include PICA / State of IL AWB.

Justice Barrett immediately requested a briefing, due Dec 6 5pm EST.

The SCOTUS docket is available at: https://www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?filename=/docket/docketfiles/html/public/23a486.html

Side Hustles

What’s everyone doing for a side hustle these days?

The wife and I have always been avid waterfowl hunters and we recently started breeding labs, it’s been a real adventure, my girls love it. We’ve got two females and hope to have two litters next year, $1,500 a pup has made it a great side hustle. Easier than cows for sure, can’t eat em tho lol.

What kind of "clips" does this pistol use?

WTF is this abomination?

Get a text from the wife today.

Wife: "if you have any extra clips for these he would like to buy them from you. You met him at my b-day party he is a regular customer of redacted. His name is redacted."

My response: It’s magazine, not “clips” and no, I don’t. And I don’t even know what that is. Lol. It looks like a Browning clone. But who knows.

Wife: It’s a 9mm

Me: That’s the caliber. Not the model of pistol. That same model pistol can, and likely does, come in several calibers like 9mm Parabelum, .40 auto, .380 auto or even another similar but not the same 9mm Makarov.

Wife: Ok he asked if you had any he list the mag for it

Me: Each model generally takes its own magazine and is not universal

Wife: He’s said it was a 9mm

Me: I can see it’s 9mm Parabellum. It’s etched on the side.

Wife: Ok should I send him to mile high

Me: No. It’s an odd model. It “might” take a Browning Hi Power magazine. He needs to go to someone who specializes is specialized guns. Maybe a
Start on the internet and figure out what it is exactly and what magazines will work with it.

Wife: k

Me: Then find a gun store that kniws about oddball shit. Most gun stores don’t do that. He might find a guy working the counter who may know. But most don’t know shit to begin with. It’s embarrassing actually
