Well gentleman, and all other pronoun people, I have a small snafu. I have an unused Bartlein new barrel for a CZ 457. I can't get the thing together. The shank is VERY Tight . Bartlein said to heat up the receiver, and put the barrel into the freezer. The problem is this: I want to be able to set the headspace for a tight lockup, but if I have to freeze the barrel and heat up the receiver, it is going to be a bear to take the barrel out to put shims to set the headspace. It has the barrel grub screw cuts. There is not a gun smith close to me to get this barrel and action put together correctly. I need a smith to get this barrel and receiver together correctly. I need some recommendations as to a decent smithy to do just one little job. I don't feel comfortable heating and freezing parts to get them to go together for a rimfire CZ...........as always, thanks for your kind support ! I have Fedex Hub near me.....and my local FFL has changed hands since the Feds confiscated the license. I can ship. I have contacted a guy that advertises on line, but I have never heard back from him.

I need a new roof, and have always liked the looks of the standing seam metal roofs..........I have signed a contract to have a roof installed on my house, and am ok with the price. The company will bring a coil of 24 ga. steel, and their machine which will form the roofing on site.

I need some type of snow retention system on this roof, and I believe the roofing company is trying to bend me over on the system they sell.

Anyone have this type of roof with a snow retention system, what is it, who makes it, and does it work for you.

I live near Kansas City, and sometimes we could get 12" of snow at a time, sometimes just a dusting.

The mayor said nothing of his campaign pledges to continue New York City as a sanctuary city. Nor did he mention that the number of migrants bused from Texas is a tiny fraction of the migrants shipped to the Big Apple by the federal government. As of September 5, the State of Texas bused only 13,300 migrants to New York City, Governor Abbott tweeted on Tuesday.

Abbott’s press secretary, Andrew Mahaleris, responded to the mayor’s personal attack on the governor of Texas.
“The hypocrisy of Mayor Adams is astounding,” Mahaleris said in response to an inquiry from Breitbart Texas. “Mayor Adams was proud to tout his self-described sanctuary city status until Texas began busing migrants to New York City to provide relief to our overrun and overwhelmed border communities.”

Adams’s problems may worsen as Border Patrol reports rapidly expanding numbers of migrants crossing from what they describe as “Special Interest Nations,” Breitbart Texas’s Randy Clark reported on the same day Adams conducted his town all. As an example, CBP reports reviewed by Breitbart showed an increase of migrants from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania from 288 during the first ten months of FY22 to nearly 14,000 so far this fiscal year — an increase of more than 6,000 percent. Egyptian migrants also increased by more than 1,400 percent during this period.
“As of August, more than 5,000 Afghan nationals have been arrested by the Border Patrol along the southwest border,” Clark reported. “During the same time frame in 2022, less than 600 Afghan nationals were encountered by the Border Patrol.”
“With thousands of migrants crossing daily, we don’t have time to figure out who these people are, where they are going, or what their intentions for coming into the country are with any degree of accuracy; most are out the door in a few days,” a source within CBP told Breitbart.
“According to the Border Patrol agents who spoke to Breitbart Texas, most of the group will be released to pursue asylum claims within the United States once the arduous task of processing the migrants is completed,” Clark concluded.

I am looking at getting new binos with a rangefinder. Mainly for hunting will use some with PRS, and NRL hunter style shooting. Am currently looking at Fury 5000 AB, Sig 10K, and Geovid Pro. These will all range plenty far. The glass comparison isn’t as relative as they are all very usable. I am mainly looking for experience with the target acquisition ease and speed. I’m sure they will all get the job done but is there one that is better at this particular job?

Radio host and shock-jock Howard Stern admitted that coronavirus paranoia recently sparked a fight with his wife, who seemingly does not share his alarm.
During a Wednesday episode for his SiriusXM radio show, Howard Stern said that while he has been more active in recent days, the new coronavirus strain has made him paranoid and “neurotic.” The topic came up when a radio caller asked if Stern found it risky to conduct his radio show from the studio in the wake of a new coronavirus strain.
“I’m going crazy with this. My wife yelled at me last night. We got into a fight,” he said. “You know how paranoid I am about getting COVID. I haven’t gotten it, and I’m pretty safe, and I really don’t want to get it.”
Stern feared that he would be one of the coronavirus cases who end up in the hospital or worse.
“Everyone goes, ‘Don’t worry, it’s just a cold for me.’ It’ll probably be way worse. You know what I mean? I mean, I’m the lucky one who will completely fall apart,” he said.
Stern discussed how the age difference between him and his wife (he’s 69; she’s 51) causes a strain when coronavirus pops up.

Stern said that the argument erupted when he shared his coronavirus concerns with his wife.
“She goes, ‘That’s what you do. Every time I say I’m going to do something, you bring up COVID,'” Stern said of his wife’s words, prompting him to reply, “I’m just telling you, I’m scared. Am I wrong?”
“I’m just expressing my fear to you, and I’m scared,” he added.
Stern admitted that he has “neurotic” issues, which his co-host Robin Quivers described as a “person with no real problems, but who makes them up.”

Not sure where I went wrong, I watched so many videos, got advice on here, took every precaution I could, and now the barreled action is stuck in the stock.

Here’s the setup zermatt origin, manners TA elitetac, Hawkins Hunter dbm

Here’s what I did: taped a few inches forward of the action to center the barrel. Taped the stock from front of recoil lug hole and about 4” forward, (regular tan masking tape if that matters). I’ll attach a photo of where it’s all taped so it makes sense. Taped front and sides of recoil lug. Clay in the trigger hole, clay in the trigger pin slots, clay in the little hole where the lug is pinned. Waxed areas in the mag well and trigger well and everywhere else on the stock I didn’t want bedding. One shot on the action and barrel up to the taped part beyond the tape on the stock (2 coats with time between them). Bedded with probed for action, pillars and bottom metal.

Here’s where I’m at: Action is stuck in stock. Now the bottom metal came free (although it was tight) so I’m fairly confident the release agent worked just fine. But the action absolutely will not budge. I’ve cleaned up the excess that was in the mag well hole and it has come off the action quite easily, and not quite as easily in the stock parts that were waxed but rough, couple hits with the chisel fixed that real quick though. I’m assuming the issue is just a very tight bed because everything is coming off the areas I can access that had release agent on them, but I could be wrong of course. I just feel like if i pull any harder I’m risking breaking the stock, it’s getting some flex in the forarm with the ammount of pressure I’m trying already. I suppose the bedding could have run up the barrel channel past the tape but that seems unlikely given that it only gooped out the first inch or so infront of the lug. I can’t image where there could be a mechanical lock given the careful clay application and visually unobstructed feed lips. I’ve been bouncing the rifle on it’s butt pad on the ground with little to no progress made. I’ve been tapping at the accessible parts of the bottom of the action with a punch but I don’t think I can hit it any harder without tearing up the metal. So I’m at a loss at this point. Everything I’ve read on here says put it in the freezer, but mine isn’t big enough for a rifle so I’d have to find a friend with room to spare that wouldn’t mind me using theirs, and my deadblow hammer is inside a pickup that’s at the ford house for repairs.

So my question is if anyone has any suggestions to try before I go asking around to use some freezer space or is that absolutely the best way to go about this?
