I bought this '64 model 70 target 30-06. It was used by Andrew M. Wightman for Highpower. It is an original winchester configuration (winchester target barrel, winchester marksman stock, winchester trigger, and bottom metal). I grabbed some fgmm and some federal 180 soft points to test it. My first trip to the range I used the supplied redfield international match sights. The fgmm averaged 1.25" groups, 2636 fps with an SD of 21.0. The 180 soft points averaged 1" groups, 2644 fps with an SD of 12.0. 4 days later I installed an unertl 12x scope. Once sighted in the fgmm averaged just under 2" groups at 100 yards. In the future I'll put a modern scope on it (either a Swarovski X5 or a Nightforce) and check groups again. I was disappointed that my groups grew when comparing open sights to vintage telescopic.

What optic (for you) is just NOT worth the money?

For me it is the Kahles. I am left handed and I really would prefer the parallax on the elevation turret but for $3,500+ I just can not reationalize that purchase.

I am running the Cronus BTR Gen2 4.5-29 I can't see spending more than double the price of that scope for the roughly the same glass (granted the Cronus punches way above it's price) and a few other small features like a rev indicator.

Anyway I am just curious what is the optic you think does not warrant the price tag?!?

Brand new to Nrl22. I want to start at the base level due to my age. I'm 72 and not real sure about all the positions, but I want to try. As I understand base is rifle and scope $1200.00. Being left-handed my options are limited. So cheap rifle, high price scope or vice versa?

I think these velocities are a bit higher comparing to what I had before
For instance My max load with br2 was 41.2
Now I have ejector marks starting from 40.4 gr.

I cleaned the crap out of the carbon ring usinf BT C4 and Jb bore paste and it was shiny, 2 days prior to shooting.

My schedule is super busy and can not go to range whenever I want.

Wondering If I can still use these velocity nodes to settle my ladder test hopping the pressure drops with shorter OAL but still having good sd/es?

Any suggestions to choose the right node would be appreciated.

Mike Pence Says Crumbling Cities ‘Not My Concern’ as He Calls for More Aid to Ukraine​

Former Vice President Mike Pence said during the Family Leadership Summit on Friday that crumbling inner cities are not “his concern” as he argued for more aid to Ukraine.

Pence spoke with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson about a variety of issues, including Ukraine’s conflict with Russia. The former Vice President said that he is confident that if Russian leader Vladimir Putin takes over Ukraine, then Putin will advance toward the rest of Eastern Europe, which the United States will have to defend.

Pence said he wants to give the Ukrainian military what they need to repel Russia. He said that Ukraine’s potential membership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will have to be decided after the conflict is over.

“Peace comes through strength, and the United States needs to continue to project strength,” Pence remarked.

In response, Carlson remarked, “I know you’re running for president. You are distressed the Ukrainians don’t have enough American tanks. Every city in the United States has become much worse over the past three years. Drive around. There is not one city that has gotten better in the United States. And it’s visible.”
He continued, “And yet you’re concern is that the Ukrainians, a country that most people can’t find on a map, who have received tens of billions of U.S. tax dollars, don’t have enough tanks, I think it’s fair to ask, where’s the concern for the United States in that?”

Pence responded, “Well, it’s not my concern. Tucker I’ve heard that routine from you before, but it’s not my concern. I’m running for President of the United States because I think this country is in a lot of trouble.”

The vice president said that he would hope to “restore law and order in our cities, secure our border,” and get the economy going again.

Carlson also asked Pence about reports about potential religious persecution in Ukraine, suggesting that the Ukrainian government may be attacking those of the Russian Orthodox faith.

Pence said he spoke with a pro-Ukrainian source, who said that Volodymyr Zelensky was not persecuting Russian churches.

I have a brand new Accuracy International AT-X Gen 2 rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor that is brand new in stock at our shop.

The AT-X is $4,000. Add $250 for the NV Bridge. We also have a folding hinge for $250 that can only be purchased with the rifle. No CC Fees if you want to pay with a CC.

I am currently on my fifth mag and MDT is sending a polymer one to test but there isn't anything else they can do since its within their spec and the suggested contacting XLR. I don't think they will have much to say as I have all ready tried to adjust the mag catch. Also I have ZERO issues with their 6BR mags on this same action and Chassis.

Build is a Terminus Zeus, XLR Envy Pro, and a proof prefit .223 Rem.

The mags are bending at the plastic lip and causing the following issues.

1. When seating the mag the case is slightly released causing a jam or it fully dislodges one or more cartridges

2. The mags release the case early from the polymer "extended feed lips" causing the rear of the case to pop up pointing the tip of
the bullet down and jamming. (See picture with red line indicating last position the mag holds the case)



As far as I can tell with my basement gunsmithing degree these are the causes/fixes

The polymer sleeves have a loose fit between the case and the steel lip that flexes when under pressure releasing the case when seating.

When it comes to the bullet tipping down I can only assume that if the flex was removed along with the extended polymer lips the rim would catch on the case and tip the cartridge up before release rather than pointing it down.

Any help is appreciated. starting every PRS stage with a jam is no fun.

I get that as an older, NON Tech-Savvy person here, I have huge gaps in my knowledge on how to protect myself from all the legal and illegal data harvesting occuring these days.

Besides the obvious - using a VPN, denying inappriopriate permissions requested by multiple apps, not using FB, trying to regularly clear my history/cache/cookies, I find myself extremely vulnerable to private data harvesting because I am Tech-stupid.

That being said, I've experienced some new occurrences going on when trying to use Customer Service phone conversations to resolve matters. Besides the obvious, Customer Service consisting of at least 95% ESL, despite myself being very polite I am frequently being disconnected or transferred, required to repeat my relevant personal info. over and over to multiple customer service agents in extremely repetitive, often drawn out fashion.

Besides the private info. that who knows may be recording outside of the function of their job, I'm beginning to wonder that there are attempts being made to capture one's voice signatures, not unlike fingerprints or retinal scans, for selling and whatever other purposes. Having heard about how voice captures have been used nefariously by AI - has anyone else been concerned or experienced similar suspicious behavior potentiating this phenomena?
