burnt out my first barrel, it was the 24" version.
Now I need a new one and beg for your help, because I have no clue which way to go, but do have some determinations.

Caliber is set with the 6.5 Creedmoor, I do have everything for this caliber and do love it.
Because of price and availability (here in Germany) it should be a Lothar Walther - barrel, everything else (import) would double the price over here.
The length of 24" seems to be a pretty good "in-between" of enough length for speed and manageability.
Heat problems were my biggest restrictions with the original Tikka barrel, after roundabout 4 shots fired (slowly) I got mirage and cooling time was a pita.
So I´d like to have a bit more beef to it, but don´t want to go with a bb.

Here comes my problem.
Lothar Walther has approx. about 100 barrel profiles and I have (except of the thickness) absolutely no clue which of them I should choose.
So,
6.5 CM
24" (26" would be standard at LW?)
twist 1:8"
beefier than the original
should be able to lasersplit hairs (just kidding)

What I need to know:
barrel contour
chamber normal or minimal

I'm still using my V1 AutoTrickler and while it's decent, I've been using it since it was released and haven't kept up on the latest and greatest. Has anyone used both and would like to offer a recommendation? I like that the V4 AutoTrickler is a self-contained unit now with no external trickler. In the past, I've had to clean and lube the trickler or else it would toss powder all over the platen. I also like that the Supertrickler will have additional add-on equipment that will make reloading even easier, but I guess those will be down the road some time.

Where would you take this? I'm having this be my primary I take with me to local match (nothing big).

I'm currently shooting the Federal GMM .223 77 grain SMK in my RRA AR-15 for long range pursuits. It's like a laser beam out to 700 yards. If the wind gremlins don't torment me to much, I'm able to hit clay pigeons at that distance. Out to 1,000 I'm able to hit an ISPC size target.

The only downside is the ammo is a little expensive but that's to be expected.

My question is if anyone has any experience with shooting the S&B or the IMI ammunition with that bullet weight and how it performs or compares to the Federal offering.

And, yes, I'm too lazy to buy some of it an try it myself.

So my 6mm Remington has a shot out barrel as shown in another thread. Im in it cheap, Its a Remington 700 Short action in the old dinosaur 6mm Remington I figure ill re-barrel it. I dont really need a hot rod 6mm. What do you guys recommend for my new cartridge. I mostly head shoot deer under 100 yards and do some Varmint hunting at night under 75Yds most of the time, Some Paper shooting now and then. I do have access to a 500 yard range that I mess around on once a month with some buddies. I shoot suppressed 99% of the time. Already have a few 7mm-08s and 2, 243s, What do I chamber the old 6mm Rem in or do I send it down the road for somebody else to mess with it?

Allstate Insurance quietly stopped selling new homeowner and business insurance in the State of California last year, a new report confirms, suggesting the decision of State Farm to do so this week was not an isolated one.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports:

Allstate has stopped writing new homeowner, condominium and commercial insurance policies in California, the company confirmed to The Chronicle.
The insurer, the fourth largest property and casualty insurance provider in the state in 2021, paused new policies “so we can continue to protect current customers,” spokesperson Brittany Nash wrote in an email to the Chronicle.

The pause began last year but appeared to receive only a passing mention in industry publications. The Chronicle learned of the development this week, after reviewing an Allstate rate increase request to the California Department of Insurance.

Allstate did not explain why it decided to stop selling insurance to new customers. But State Farm decided to do so because of the increased risk of wildfires and the rising costs of construction in the state — and because the state’s regulators will not allow it to price new policies based on future anticipated risk, only on historical risk.
California is the only state in the country that imposes that restriction on insurance policies, ostensibly to keep prices down. The unintended affect is that California residents and investors may struggle to find insurance.

I'm not one for sappy posts, so I'm going to cut to the chase. My best friend just tried to off himself by downing a bottle of pain killers out of the blue. He's not one to talk about feelings (neither am I) and has made it clear that counseling is out of the question... I'm getting the "I'm fine, bro... I just fucked up. I got this" type of empty bullshit I've gotten the last several times he's gone completely off the rails.

I'm posting here because he's a 9 year combat vet and he went sideways towards the tail end of his career. He's never been the same. We communicate without any sort of filter whatsoever and it's pretty clear what fucked him up. He won't admit it, but it's obvious.

I figure someone here has been in a similar situation and I'm looking for a little honest advice. I can't lose this guy. He's more than family. I'm kicking around the idea of flying him out to a secluded island somewhere where we can kick back a few cold ones and relax. Other than that, I don't even know where to start and I'm at the point where I'm willing to post about it on the internet.

My HUXWRX 7.62 Ti finally got approved. Checking the alignment for one of my guns with a Geissele alignment rod, it seems very questionable.

Technically it's not touching the edge but it's far from centered. How centered does the rod need to be to avoid any issues?

I don't want to damage the suppressor I waited 9 1/2 months for.

For anyone here that has knowledge of the Telecom industry and, specifically, Caller ID and the "inner workings" of it:


A year ago, I started a new business (I'm a "Notary Public"). I got a phone number from one of those "secondary" phone no. companies as an app to my smart phone... a "reassigned" number. So far, it has worked well and I can take / give calls/texts on both my primary and secondary (business) numbers, separately. And I'm not getting any errant calls for the previous business... so far, anyway.


Earlier this week, a person tried to call my business number and, for the first time, noticed that the caller ID "Name" from the previous owner had not been cleared and is still attached to the number I received. Thus, when people dial it, it comes up with that name (i.e. "Calling XYZ Co") where "XYZ" is the name of the business that had the number before me.


I need to be able to delete that name and/or its association with my number, or change it to my business name. It's not a "bad/nefarious" name (i.e. "Adult-O-Rama" store), but it's still confusing to people who might call my number looking for my Notary business. The "alternate phone" app company where I got the number from says they have no control over it and cannot help me. They even refused to research the name of the previous carrier so I might call them to see if they might alter it, citing "security reasons." Gotta love that catchall.


Therefore, if anyone here knows anything about how caller ID Names and numbers are managed and can point me in the right direction as to how to get it changed or removed from the number itself, I'd truly appreciate it.
