Suppressors Suppressor Mounts: Weight and Length

Hey folks!

I wanted to provide a summary of some mounting options out on the market for HUB or 1.375x24 threaded suppressors. There are a ton of systems out on the market, each with their own spec, weights, and lengths, and I wanted to highlight some of what I've found through experience, to help inform purchase decisions. Hopefully this sparks some discussion or encourages some thought about your own setups, and why you choose what you did.

I will say that I am currently switching to rearden atlas for my sdn6, coming from keymo and hellfire. This is temporary until I have a dedicated bolt gun can, but I want to share between bolt guns and gas guns...until my kgm r30 clears. Then it's back to hellfire for bolt guns for me.

Holler! Photos below for you visual learners.

Mount overview
System weight: muzzle device and bravo spec adapter weight.
Length added to suppressor: adapter length when added to suppressor.
Length added from barrel shoulder to rear of suppressor: length of total system when muzzle device is inside adapter.

Keymo.
System weight: 8.4oz.
Length added to suppressor: 1.15".
Length added from barrel shoulder to rear of suppressor: 1.32"

Area 419 Hellfire.
System weight: 3.3oz.
Length added to suppressor: 0.35".
Length added from barrel shoulder to rear of suppressor: 0.35

Plan B spec/Rearden Atlas.
System weight: 4.4oz.
Length added to suppressor: 0.5".
Length added from barrel shoulder to rear of suppressor: 0.65".

Keymo Pros.
Good lockup.
Industry support.

Keymo cons.
Heavy.
Long.

Area 419 hellfire pros.
Lightest overall.
Minimal length added.
Ability to run highly effective muzzle brakes when un suppressed.
Amazing return to zero.
Adapters for nearly every suppressor made.
Best for precision rifle applications.

Area 419 cons.
Looks goofy AF on small diameter barrels.
Limited muzzle device options.
Muzzle device is separate from suppressor mount.

Plan B/Rearden Atlas pros.
Light and compact for QD style system. Solid overall system.
Usable muzzle devices when un suppressed.
Effective taper mount.
Lots of aftermarket support.
Affordable.
Threads feel buttery.

What firearm youtube channels do you like?

So I do overnight security for a gov contract, which means lots of sitting on youtube since it's all we can get on..... Also starting at page 1 I've made it to page 1349 of the motivational thread lol. What channels do you gentlemen prefer? What do you recommend? Any suggestions on good precision/long range ones that aren't dry as shit. When I joined I got sent some youtube links to Phillip Velayo to educate me on this lifestyle. I loved it educational but he has character which keeps me attentive. So far here's what I watch incase any of you are interested.

Vickers tactv-His older videos are great cinematics, educational, entertaining.
Garandthumb- Interesting unbiased gun reviews, military sense of humor, shoots cool shit
9 Holes reviews-Tests and pushes out military styled weapons out to different ranges, gives good history on things. I wish we had a range like the one he shoots at here in Colorado.
Vintage shooters club- I think he's the guy from ak operators union, shoots interesting weapons, can seem a bit off, love the camera though you see the trace on everything he shoots clearly.
Military Arms Channel- entertaining, cool firearms, but very professional really unlike most marinetubers I've seen so this is what I watch when people are in the office
Shawn Ryans channel- just seems like a down to earth Vet, keeps it real, pretty good shit on a lot of topics
TFBTV- Started off really good back in the day now it just seems like a new review on a glock every other week, shit has gotten boring.

What's the most horrifying two-animal hybrid you can think of?

Any two in the animal kingdom. Sizes can be adjusted within reason, i.e. a blue-whale/piranha hybrid is ok. Zeppelin-size bald face hornets, though disturbing, are probably pushing it. An alligator size house centipede is good to go, even with Joy Behar's head. Rabbit-scorpions, fine. Black-widow vampire bats? No problemo.

So then, two picks, any two critters, mashed up in the most terrifying nightmare-inducing, abominable combinations, whatcha got?

Firearms Speedy Build Remington 700 SA .308 Accuracy International Chassis 1.5 Leupold Vari X 3

Decided to buy an AI so need to recoup some funds.

I bought this from an estate and have not fired it. Gun appears to be never fired or fired only a few times Speedy build. Barrel is stainless and only marked S.G.& Y .308 that I can see. The action doesn't have a scratch on it and like I said bolt looks new. Has a match trigger of some kind that is super smooth. The AI chassis is like new as well. Leupold scope Vari-X 3 4.5-14x50mm scope mint condition with what I believe are Badger rings.
Harris Bi-pod

Any other questions I will be happy to try and answer

SOLD Giraud Power Trimer with 5 Caliber Pilot/Cutters

I’ve come to the realization that I won’t hardly have time to use this so it’s time to go to someone that will put it to work. I bought this brand new a while back and used it to trim about 150 pieces of 6.5x47 brass. The other pilots/cutters are brand new. Wrenches and manuals are included as well.

List of pilots/cutter head :
6.5x47 (in trimmer now)
6.5 Creedmoor
7 SAUM
223 Ackley Improved

Pilot only:
6 creedmoor (shares the same cutter as 6.5cm)

I don’t want to separate the pilots from the machine at this point but may if there are buyers for everything. $650 for everything shipped. PayPal FF or add 4% or check/MO.

welp hex key got stuck in tikka trigger set screw **FIXED**

well i was swapping to a lighter trigger spring in my t3x and just used my hex key set i use for archery to remove the bolts and it got stuck in the set screw that holds the trigger spring. I guess i could just get a new one but that might take a while. Any ideas on how to get it out? heat? cold?guess is its bc the hex key is SAE while the set screw is metric and its jammed in their too tight. soaking it in wd 40 at the moment. (yes I feel dumb although I did this same method with my other tikka without any issue before)

Form 1, Form 4, SBR's

Let's just bypass the whole clusterfuck concerning pistol braces and the new ATF position on them. This isn't about that.

It's my undestanding...
-If I purchase a complete SBR from an FFL, it's a Form 4 and the long wait that comes with it. I guess people choose this route when they can't get what they want by building it themselves or it's not available in a pistol version.

-If I purchase a complete pistol from an FFL, I can use a Form 1 to convert it to an SBR and then use a stock, correct? I've done two Form 1 lowers, waiting on approval for the second but the first was GTG in less than two months. Just seems sort of strange. Not sure why any manufacturer would even offer an SBR when it's easier to convert a pistol (for now anyways).

Looking at a new complete "rifle" I can't build myself as the parts are unobtanium and they do offer it in both SBR and pistol form. Want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding something. I'd much prefer a two month over an 7-8 month wait.
