A little quick background.....I am prior military....was an armorer in the Army.....loved that job. As a civilian and approaching retirement I now hobby in building AR's and also I focus on long range shooting....I have a 6.5 Creedmoor precision rifle and a .338 lapua magnum precision rifle.....I can consistently shoot 1000 yards.....and I also love to build on the AR platform. My first build was a silenced .300aac SBR designed to shoot subsonic. I love it. I have also built a few 5.56 and .308. I have consistently shot at 960 yards with a .308 I built. I am a pretty good shooter, dedicated student, knowledgeable....and my passions for this run high. Not long ago I was also on FB in a couple of rifle forums. I had posted this beautiful 16" AR in .300AAC I had built.....it was designed to shoot supersonic rounds, to 400 yds - 500yds. The army lists the MER on this platform at 460 meters. I built it for fun. I can afford to. It operates so very well. It is fun..........And man I got TORCHED on that forum, like relentlessly. I was like....damn......torched for building a "dumb gun" that "was built for the exact opposite concept of the calibers design". I get it. I would bet money the monkey that made that statement has a 5.56mm AR pistol which of course is "the exact opposite concept of the calibers design"....but I get it. I am solid with my choices so I was not phased any.....taken back a bit maybe....because....damn. What did many folk do for a life prior to keyboard mouthiness? Any way......I would love to hear any thoughts on this subject. Even if I get torched.

I am thinking abt upgrading my scope from a Gen 2 razor on my Vudoo. What are y’all’s thoughts on these 2 for a 22 rifle. I am not shooting any 22 matches but may, its mainly for practice. My PRS rifles have Tangents on them so I am leaning towards the Razor because the reticles are closer to my Tangents. I just don’t know if the Razor is worth the extra 1000 over the Mark 5 and I like the Mark 5, havent had a chance to check out the new Razor yet.

I am so over SHOT SHOW, I have been going every year since 2000 and it's done in my eyes. Yes, I can go next week and have as many meetings with people as I am comfortable attending. The networking is valid, but the show as it stands today is a complete waste of time in its present form.

Magpul Pro Lite Chassis

Anybody know where to find a Gen 2 razor with an ebr 7 reticle at a reasonable price? I’m only coming up with top dollar pricing.

PLEASE pick this apart if I'm not on the right track. Need some help in 4 main areas (barrel, receiver, Bolt carrier and buffer) for a new SPR type build. I live in IL so for now NO suppressors, if that matters for buffer type etc.

Main Use:
-I really want to be able to shoot 53gr Vmax for coyotes and 77gr loads for 600-700ish. Goal is to upgrade to a thermal with range finder so the 53gr option could possibly go away but it does seem to wreck coyotes so I've liked using them for that so far.

Receiver set w/ handguard: SLR Rifleworks B15 Ambi builders set. Is this stiff enough or would you recommend a different upper? I know MEGA used to be popular for their rigidity.

Barrel - Going with CLE for the barrel work and am between a few options:

-Brand: Krieger or Bartlein 4 groove? Really any option, but I dont mind spending the price for those two if it makes a difference

-Profile: Any real accuracy different between these two if all else is equal?

2. Varmint 20" - Obviously heavier as its 1" under the handguard. Will this fit under normal handguards like the SLR ones?
Flute: Should I flute either? If the Varmint barrel is better, can/should I flute it to save weight or does that defeat the purpose of the barrel profile?

-Chamber: CLE vs Wylde? One better than the other for what I'm wanting to shoot out of it (53gr and 77gr)?

-Twist: 1/7.7 to hopefully help shoot the 53gr if possible?

Buffer: I see a lot of people going the JP silent spring option. Since I cant use a suppressor will I still see a benefit? I will be using a SLR adjustable gas block. If not, do I just go normal buffer?

Bolt Carrier: Getting a matched bolt from CLE. Any carrier recommendations?

-Buffer tube depends on the buffer question above
-Trigger: TT diamond or Elfmann most likely
