Is my landlord a fucking dick?

So while I was away for the holidays, some worthless fucktard broke into the house I'm renting. He broke out the glass of the bedroom room window, $1000 to get it fixed. Didn't steal anything, think he saw the alarm system keypad and backed out the way he came in. I call the police and filed a report, called the landlord and he says I'm responsible for fixing the window. I can't see anything in the lease that states it's my responsibility? O' by the way, yes he is a fucking dick, he is also my boss and this is just the latest thing he's done to piss me off.

An interesting analysis of the ammo market

I ran across Matt Stoller’s substack last year, he writes a lot about monopolices. Today he dropped an article about the civilian ammunition market that was an interesting read, it’s a very different take than the public relations spin coming out of the industry.

PSA: ALWAYS have AT LEAST several months to a year of nonperishables stocked at ANYTIME. Chaos and incompetence in Xi'an, China as lockdown continues.

TIERS OF IMPORTANCE: May vary slightly based on your specific living conditions and locales:

LEVEL 1: Grains, dried noodles, pasta, rice, flour, other grain products. Essential medications.
LEVEL 2: Canned and bottled goods. Canned condiments, fish, sauces, etc.,
LEVEL 3: Household sanitary and hygienic supplies.

NOBODY should be living ANYWHERE in the world without the minimum of at least several months to a year's worth of these supplies stocked, properly rotated if need be, and stored in conditions essential for long term preservation. It is of course, not a big deal for people who live on large properties and farms. However, even in the TINIEST of dwellings in large urban areas, stocking up to several months to a year's worth of essentials is still possible. I've helped MANY urban residents set up their stocks before and there is no reason why anybody should be living day to day in terms of essentials.

Collapsible plastic storage totes and file cabinets are available for incredibly cheap prices in most dollar stores. Some are quite large, with compartments and drawers on both ends for easy access. Others are also stackable, allowing you to place up to 3-4 identical totes on top of each other up to an average adult human height safely. Even in the tiniest of urban apartments, there is PLENTY of space to set up at least 2-3 of such storage stacks. First, clean up all and any shit you are not using or is not relevant to your living situation. It doesn't hurt to embrace some minimalism. Your life and health and the lives and health of your loved ones are at stake here so if you cannot make some lifestyle changes in order to ensure your long term well being, you are either a dumbass or a piece of shit. Set aside a room corner and hallway/walkway niche, as many as you reasonably need and use these, providing that the assembled racks will be out of the way and not present a safety hazard to children, pets, etc. Once situated in corners, you will be surprised at just how translucent and stackable plastic storage can practically blend into ANYWHERE and not affect it's atmosphere or appearance one bit, not to mention incredibly spacious and efficient.

The nightmare presented in this thread can happen ANYWHERE, because incompetent and tyrannical policies know NO discrimination based on any culture or country, as events in Australia and even right here in the USA have shown. If the time comes that you find yourself needing to panic buy because a supply chain disaster or lockdown is coming, you are already FUCKED. If you still harbor even a remote specter of pathetic self-soothing that "it's okay, in the end the government will find a way to help us", you are DOUBLEPLUS FUCKED. If the past two years still has not shaken you out of any complacency that you may have harbored prior to 2020, you are also beyond saving.

Also, know the basics surrounding anything that you may need or rely upon in daily usage. For example, 8oz butane cartridges used in tabletop stoves are almost EXCLUSIVELY made in South Korea. So if you are a restaurant owner or anyone else who use a considerable quantity of 8oz cartridges on a normal basis, what does that mean if there is a major issue with shipping lines looming ahead? Figure it out, it ain't rocket science.

The oldest city in Chinese history, with over 4,500 years of records as the imperial capital for numerous dynasties as well as a central hub on the Silk Road trade route, faces a draconian and unprecedented lockdown as COVID-19 came back with a vengeance:

Xi'an residents are required to submit to mass testing as positive cases are taken into quarantine facilities. This has become less about the actual illness but an attempt by the Chinese government to save face as it desperately tries to show the world that only they had been able to "end" the epidemic. As a result of the sudden measures, residents were not even left with a contingency plan for continued sustenance as the lockdown shows no signs of lifting.

CHAOS, CONFUSION, AND INCOMPETENCE AS XI'AN CONTINUES DRACONIAN LOCKDOWN IN THE WAKE OF THE LARGEST OUTBREAK OF COVID SINCE WUHAN 2020: As China prepares to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, it's drastic and wholly incompetent "zero COVID" policies plunge cities into chaos as residents scramble to find resources to sustain themselves. Xi'an, a prefecture level city containing over twice the population of metropolitan New York, was placed into a state of total lockdown almost 2.5 weeks ago as thousands of COVID cases threaten to challenge China's reputation of having "conquered the epidemic" in the previous year.

Initially, residents were allowed to leave their apartments for 2 hours a day to purchase essentials. However, this was expanded into a total lockdown where no one is allowed to exit their homes except during rounds of mass testing.

Residents took to social media to report critical shortages of food as groceries ran out. In response, soldiers from the regional People's Liberation Army garrisons were called in to assist in bringing resupply caches to homes, but so far, residents have still been reporting the deliveries as shoddy, uncoordinated, and not exactly reliable.

Any drivers caught on the roads faced stiff fines.

At least 2 unborn babies have died due to their mothers being denied entry into hospitals due to stringent "zero COVID" policies which require all patients and staff to present a negative COVID test. One mother was forced to wait outside pending her test result even as her condition progressed rapidly downward. When she began bleeding down her legs and staff finally wheeled her into surgery, it was too late to save the infant. The second infant died under similar circumstances.

Thousands of people who had tested positive for COVID or have been determined to be close contacts of positive cases had been told to leave their homes and taken by buses to quarantine facilities. Quarantined individuals have posted on Weibo, China's equivalent of Twitter, that the facilities were "cold", and sometimes "lacked even basic necessities and food".

Reality Star Ends Up in Hospital After Selling Farts Online

Steph Matto made $200,000 selling her farts online and ended up in the emergency room fearing she was about to die of a heart attack.

Steph Matto, 31, from Connecticut, recently found herself in the emergency room after experiencing shooting pains in her chest.
She thought she was having a heart attack or a stroke, and was convinced she was going to die any moment.
Concerned doctors performed blood tests and an EKG but later told the 90 Day Fiancé star that the symptoms were actually caused by excess gas from her frequent diet of beans, eggs, and banana protein shakes.
It's true...there's a sucker born every minute!

BUSTED AND EXPOSED: Gun ban supporters now making up FALSE incidents on social media to create controversy/clout. FL/IL

Moms Demand Action, Everytown, and a smattering of "gun control activists" have been caught trying to intentionally stir up trouble by posting FALSE incidents onto social media. Clout chasers posted a bogus account of "two men, one open carrying an AR-15 and another with a handgun" getting into an argument at a Florida McDonalds where both men supposedly started pointing their guns at each other in a Hollywood style Wild West standoff. Another attention seeker complained about seeing a man open carrying a semiautomatic pistol on his belt at a Chicago, IL clothing store called Joann's.

The problem is, BOTH of these states have NO, or, in the case of Florida, very limited open carry provisions. And last but not least, one would think such harrowing incidents like two armed men engaged in a standoff in a crowded restaurant would immediately attract the attention of every camera phone in the place, as well as law enforcement, would it? But, no such footage can be gathered or witnesses tracked down to provide a detailed retelling. Once gun rights bloggers caught on to their lies and obvious attempted attention seeking, the gun ban shills deleted their tweets or made them private, but not before eagle eyed netizens already screen-shotted their Twitter feeds.

LOL, try again bro...

Really? Wow that is awful. Can't wait to see the videos of this incident. Oh wait...

The USD $

When I hear the terms "Weak USD" or "Strong USD" I am curious as to how strength is measured. What I am being told is it's how the USD relates to a Market Basket of other countries currencies.
_________________
Understanding the U.S. Dollar Index (USDX)

The index is currently calculated by factoring in the exchange rates of six major world currencies, which include the Euro (EUR), Japanese yen (JPY), Canadian dollar (CAD), British pound (GBP), Swedish krona (SEK), and Swiss franc (CHF). The EUR is, by far, the largest component of the index, making up 57.6% of the basket. The weights of the rest of the currencies in the index are JPY (13.6%), GBP (11.9%), CAD (9.1%), SEK (4.2%), and CHF (3.6%).1

Interesting that the Russian Ruble or the Chinese Yuan is not in the market basket.

Starting to seem like a "Strong USD" is similar to winning a gold metal at the Special Olympics.

Here's my F@#K YOU to Fedex

Went to FedEx the other day to send my AI down to GCP in FL. I've sent many rifles out from FedEx and this particular location as well. They quickly told me that there is now (As of 2 weeks ago) a new rule from FedEx on firearm shipping. The manager had to pull out a 3 ring binder that was about 7-8" thick of pages, flipped to the firearm section and proceeded to tell me that now, you have to be an FFL to not only receive firearms, but also to fuckin send them, no matter who the recipient is. The only exception is if you have a pre-printed label from your FFL recipient that they have to have set up through Fedex for this new rule.

I told that fat, 5'3" tall cock biter that they'll never see another red fuckin cent from me again and to eat shit.

This shit is getting fucking ridiculous. It's bad when they, a private company, pull some shit like this but the USPS has no issue sending it when the people running the federal gov are some gun grabbing commies.

Night Vision Moving on from the XRF with a ???

Most of you have probably seen my thread documenting my experience with the Halo XRF. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. But I don't want this thread to turn negative, N-Vision is going to work with the dealer to get me credit and I'm moving on.

The XRF has so much going for it as a long range scope.
.An excellent image.
.Easy to use controls.
.Batteries that last forever.
.Nice Mil based reticle. (It's just the wrong color...)
.LRF that shows potential (when it wants to)

I really wish it had worked out. On paper, it has everything going for it. There are obviously people who had a much better experience with theirs, but after seeing the zero shift on top of my other issues I'm ready to throw the towel in and move on.

I already have a Radius LRF in place. My three choices going forward look to be...

Trijicon-ir Hunter. (The new models have a mil reticle, but a lower base mag that will hurt for the longer shots.)

UTCx. (I've found one, but the price is really more than I want to spend. Plus the whole no warranty-no repair thing is terrifying)

LWTS-LR. (Most likely option. I would probably run it as a stand-alone to get rolling again, then possibly add a G3 or Nightforce 2.5-20. I'm a little concerned that the clip on image won't live up to the XRF's though.)

Wig has already spent way more time with me on my options than I can ever thank him for. But I'll say it again. Thank-you Joe.

Does anybody else who has spent time with any of these scopes have anything to offer? Any comparisons? Pitfalls or things I'm overlooking? Again, my main goal is to shoot coyotes in the 500yd and farther range. That's an easy shot with my daytime match rig, now I want to start making them at night.

Thanks guys.

Derrick D.

SOLD WTS: ZCO 4-20 mpact2 FDE in Spuhr mount combo.

New with all the boxes and paperwork…ZCO 4-20 with mpact2 reticle in a Spuhr mount. I bought this new from CS Tactical last year as well, had them ceracoat the scope, spuhr, tenebraex caps and ARD to match. They did a great job. The scope was only going to be sold with the rifle or I would use it on another build. But I was asked by a few people to put it up and see what happens or they at least inquired about it. So it’s up for a couple days or until I come to my senses. It’s an amazing scope.

If you bought this from CST it would cost you a little north of $4k.

Asking $3550 shipped. For a few bucks more…I can also add a Spuhr RAPTAR bridge to the mount in FDE, angle cosign attachment and a RMR mount all painted the same. Maybe even an RMR in coyote if you want. Pure Sex. That would make you like extra snipery !

SBR sidesteps/avoidance

Maybe get some further information on what I have dug up so far. I am curious about a project I have in my brain. I’m not against going the SBR route if that is the only legal choice I have in the matter.
-Situation is this.
I want to make a rifle(bolt action) with a 5.5 inch barrel. I want to PERMANENTLY affix some AR STYLE handguards to the BARREL in accordance with the AFT guidelines. The actual project is not the important piece. I say attach to the barrel because they state anything permanently attached to the barrel is included in OAL for barrel.

A: barrel nut material will decide how that permanent attachment is done. Since big brother says alloys and steel are not considered permanently bonded with high temp silver solder, that will include a weld. The weld has to cover 50% of circumference, or four major spot welds from my understanding. If it is steel on steel, then high temp solder it will be. That makes no difference to me. I would be ok with adding a pin in there for added measure as well. The barrel will be thick enough to not incur any damage from this procedure. The rifle will fire a pistol caliber round.

B: the handguard itself will be fastened to the “barrel nut” with high temp solder in the threads of attaching screws, and heads of attachment hardware will be made useless to any type of tool for removal. This will ensure a drill bit is used, and thus should make it permanent if I understand that correctly as well.

—-once these two tasks are done, it should be legally considered permanently attached to the barrel and OAL should include the handguard? Am I reading into this and completely wrong, or does this sound like it would be legal?
I know there are companies that attach a “shroud” to the end of short barrels to make them length compliant, and this is in the same realm, just with the shroud starting at the rear of the barrel instead of the muzzle end. Let me know what you think. Angry poor noises can be thrown out here, I have thick skin. The point is to see if it is possible without a stamp. I have stamps now, and not worried about getting one if needed, but someone will say it I’m sure.

Accessories PSA: Please Turn on 2-Factor Verification to prevent hacks

Public Service Announcement
Just wanted to share an example of why its critical to turn on two-factor email verification to prevent unauthorized account access.

Woke up this morning to see THREE emails from Sniper's Hide for Login Verification.

These were fraudulent login attempts clearly made by someone trying to gain access to my account. Since they didn't have access to my email (I assume) they weren't able to get the verification code to login to Sniper's Hide.

Had I not had 2-Factor Verification enabled I am sure these mofo's would be trying like hell to scam each and every one of you.

I have since changed my password...
